"Indeed I am most wrong to think of you as a him. Perhaps it is dizziness from a lack of good food and drink while a surfeit of stress and danger. However some of this does not belong to Lady Lavinia, so perhaps we should decide what happens to that wealth, what you all think? Don't you agree, Erica? Oops there I go again thinking of you in skirts and a basque - we should get my poor stomach fed. Ha ha." Bedu's eyes twinkle in embarrassment and pleasure at the banter. There may be bigger traps in here - perhaps it would be safer if you all stay back some." adds the short Qadiran with a faint smile at the man's joke. Oh and then I believe that we get to roll dice or place bets on who gets to set light to Valanthus' basket. He is a special case - a king cobra of a poisonous fool." When the silence grows and the gas is gone, Bedu pops his head around the corner and grins at the cut down lizard then frowns, "my little eyes are not at their best. But it would seem that you do not have the body of Rowyn. She is under the bed, perhaps? No. I am sorry Gavin but she promised you would have another chance to kill her." Fair enough. Bedu believes the same but wants to suck info from her first. She is a tool and hasn't got any macaroons either! He wanted to know where Valanthus has gone, for instance. And maybe if there are higher figures within Sasserine that Rowyn is connected to. But I fully expected Erick to shoot something.

However beforehand while he listens and decides perhaps you can sweeten the pot and tell me what we get in return for our obvious talents? What share are you offering as a start for our discussion?" Bedu smiles at the reptile, "a crested felldrake, not a creature I see often as a pet. Hard to tame and feed." The halfling looks back through the door briefly to see if Erick is happy for the conversation to continue or intends to step forth.

Bedu takes his cue from Tessa and slips into the room and stays near the door against the wall. He slides his left hand down the front of his robe and smooths it down, picking a speck of bugbear juice off as well. "Bedu Bakander at your service, madam. My mother said it is politeness itself to introduce myself and with your interesting offer to take us on it would be pleasant to begin with your moniker too, please." With a bow. The halfling grins at the lady and her reptile beyond the bed. "Oh and it would be pleasant to meet with the other Vanderboren...Valanthus too. It took us about six months to do the last 50 posts, we have tried during that time to reinvigorate the game at least four times. I'm happy enough to keep playing (I'm posting daily in my other game). The key is that everyone has to be doing that to energise the game. It feels like different individuals have being trying at different times. Sadly, looking at the more recent track record I've highlighted I'm not sure we are enjoying the game enough to warrant trying a fifth time. Cheers

Truthfully no. But I actually enjoy this aspect of the game, low level numpty that becomes cool clean expert is part of the fun. Bedu will keep trying and eventually get the hang of it. Or perhaps he is no thief at heart? Bedu gathers in what information there is and scans for mention of the name of their Lady and her brother. But Erick is right, time to move on so he readies to leave handing over the untidy documents quickly. One stubby hand pulls at his waist and frees the waterskin so he can take a refreshing slug at it. He offers it round the others, including Ismaire. "Alas, no wine to befuddle our wits, just a small water break from a small friend. Ha!"

DM's right but Bedu has hardly covered himself in glory at picking locks. Stepping forwards and pulling out his new no.3 hookpick, the halfling checks the hole first for deadly or even dangerous traps, then he fiddles at the lock gently at first and then with a steady increase of frustrated pressure. Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Bedu tells the kobold to wait for him at the nearest inn outside the Taxidermists Hall. If he is there then he can go to Kora at the Vanderboren's home. Afterwards he follows the pair with a faint whistle and skip in his little steps, taking a moment to hitch up his tight belt.

Or a warrior? Or what is her best guards like? Dogs or worse?" Bedu opens his mouth to add further questions but the befuddled look on the draconic tells him, it is time to listen.
