Male Human Cleric 4

The only questions I could add to Altai's would be:
Did he show you were he wanted the comissions done? Was it a garden; gallery, or some remote room in the manor. Would they all be together in the same place? Also - how heavy would the statues be in full size?

To me, mobility might imply whether they can be moved to say...secret temples or somesuch easily. Doesn't make much sense to have the sculptor build Orcus in your living room if he weighs 2 tons, just so you can place it in a secret temple downstairs. That's a lot of heavy lifting otherwise.

Sorry, Elgan - haven't forgotten your question. Been a long day so far.

"Pelor's shining face...it sounds like there might be more trouble. I hope the Stoutlys haven't had any problems out their way," he comments.

"I hope these fishmen don't decide to get in league with the smugglers..." Becton murmurs.

"Scuze meh chere, but ah wuz won'drin', if'n yeh don' min', Kin ah axe yeh a question?"

Becton glances Elgan's way with a bemused look from the current going-ons. "Go ahead, Elgan...no need to stand on ceremony." He offers him a chair/stool next to him at the bar as sign of welcome.

Way behind on updating my stats, by the way - will do so today. Otherwise, I'm good to fast forward the action I suppose.

Male Human Cleric 4

Becton listens to sailor's tales, but the description immediately perks his ears. He looks at Altai to confirm his suspicions -
"Sounds an awful lot like the (name I forget) Anderhoff when last we saw him - fishlike man and all that. Could it be the missing brother out on a lark; is he a were-beast too? Hope he didn't escape."

He turns to the sailors. "Pelor's light be with you, men - you'll get no guff from me; only my blessing. When did you see this Walleyed Wally? How long ago? And what happened to your friend - did he go diving in, right then? Or did he go and disappear later? Were you out near the old mansion when this happened?"

"Perhaps a drink to smooth the tongue, eh?"

Male Human Cleric 4

Having made his polite entreaties for an audience at the temple - with an audience expected tomorrow, Becton's probably the last to make it back to the Lizard Boat. Paranoia has set in a little - after the run in with the still missing Anderhoff brother - so he does a preliminary scan outside before heading in.

Spot (1d20+4=16) "Watch commander would be proud," he chuckles thinking of his days on the Geoff border.

"Thanks for looking after the young ladies, Stig - drink on me, eh?"
The cold has started to sink in, so he asks for a few shots of brandy and something to eat to get him settled. He listens off-handed to Riese and Mardel's discussion, but is curious as to what the sailors are jawin' about with Altai.

Male Human Cleric 4

Wow...very poetic there, Heathy...nice visual.

"It's alright, young misses, just call me Becton. Not much one for formality...let's get you something to eat and some shelter, eh?"
He does so with a reassuring grin, and broad wave towards the Saltmarsh streets.

"Seems Pelor's Highlady will be seeing us sooner than she thought," he adds with chuckle to Altai and the others.

Male Human Cleric 4

Becton eyes their uncertainty, and hopes to reassure them.

"Young misses, if you are uncertain of where to go while you wait your brother's return...we can try to make accomodations for you at the temple; perhaps some other safe haven."

Male Human Cleric 4

Sense Motive (1d20+2=16)

"Well, neighbor, looks to me like you've already been through enough today - and you hardly seem a frothing fiend fanatic for me to be worrying about. If you were evil, I suspect you would have been a bit more helpful to those raiders than to us."
Becton remains at ease, more curious than concerned over a sculpture's choice of subjects.

He adds with some reassurance, "I'll trust our assistance here is enough to ask you who might this noble would be...any further concerns we'll address with him, alright?"

Becton uses his healer's kit to clean the wound and stave off the infection. Working nonchalantly and calmly at the revelation, "You'll probably need to see a healer when you get to town. Now then, neighbor, please feel free to clarify...what it's all about then."

He tries to maintain a reassuring smile.

Becton merely nods. "As long as your not stealing, good sir, and I think my comrades can be the judge of that."

He motions the man the sit while exams the head wound; bandaging it and cleaning it as best he can until he can make it to Saltmarsh.
Another heal check?

"I wouldn't be lying down for awhile; might make you worse." While he works, he glances at Gittik and Beldan out of curiosity to see if there's anything to be concerned about.

Sense Motive (1d20+2=18)

Healing (1d20+9=16)
Diplomacy(1d20+6=22)

Becton places a calm hand on Gittik, to get him to ease off for a moment. He approaches the man as calmly as possible; realizing he's somehow worried about Becton. He's also trying to assess if the wound as somehow made him erratic or disoriented.

"Easy now, neighbor - I'm afraid I haven't heard of you, but you clearly are in need of some aid. That wound ain't gonna fix itself right away, and I can patch you up. So come on over here and sit a spell so we can take a look at it, hmmm? As I said before, Pelor guided us to help you and these folks out, eh?"

Male Human Cleric 4

"Fair enough, Stig. Careful not be scaring these folks, eh? Except maybe our unnamed treasure claimer over there." He points at the guy claiming the chest, etc.

OK - my insomnia's finally wearing off. See you later...

"Easy there, neighbor. You seem a might eager to get out of sight; and I don't much care for your "claiming" stuff when all these good folks need help. Anyone know this man, or what he's about?"

Male Human Cleric 4

Becton makes his way through the group, making some immediate healing on his comrade, he focuses on those he can see have clearly taken a beating from the ogre first.

Stig - CMW (2d8+4=11)
Altai - CLW (1d8+4=9, 1d8+4=10) Tot = 19
Harvak - CMW (2d8+4=15)

"Anyone else in need of more healing, speak up, lads," he utters with the ease of someone used to mending in a battle field. He'll head towards the group of captives, and unbinding them as necessary. "It's alright folks, we're a bit rough but no one's here to cause you any harm," he says with a calming smile to reassure them. "Are any of you wounded or need some mending?"

Sorry - a bit off the track there - didn't catch everything above.

Male Human Cleric 4

If possible, Becton will try to interpose himself between the ogre and Altai, taking a shot with his mace.
Attack (1d20+6=25)
Damage (1d8+2=7)

If that's not possible, then he'll reload and fire his crossbow at the ogre. After that he'll make a charge to attack the ogre.
Attack (1d20+4=19)
Damage (1d8=3)

Male Human Cleric 4

Becton reloads again, and gets a little closer for a shot at the giant gnome. However, he loses his footing and the bolt misses his target dreadfully. Crossbow (1d20+4=5) Gah! Nat one - let me know if there's some backlash, eh?

Male Human Cleric 4

Sorry folks been out of it - bit of a family emergency the last couple of days.

Seeing that Harvak is occupied with the "big un's," he focuses his crossbow shot on the gnome with the flaming hand if possible. Moving to be in range (80'), so let me know if I can fire this round. If the gnome is too far away, he'll target the ogre instead.

Attack (1d20+4=19)
Damage (1d8=5)

Male Human Cleric 4

Becton glances over at the parley-man, saying: "Be at ease, friend; Pelor guides our hand."

He raises his shield and utters a benediction to aid his comrades. Casting Bless - figure I should be able to cover everyone except Beldan, maybe (50ft burst). So +1 to everyone.

As soon as he finishes, Becton will pull his crossbow first - targeting the Ogre probably.

Seeing the giant man-beast brings back memories of his days in Geoff; an intensity comes in his eye to want this offensive lot to pay for the brutality.

I don't think the healing wand can be recharged; they'll sell you a new one at cost for 375 g.p., or trade your old one for a new one.

Holy water's wholesale too; 25 g.p. for 2 vials.
Remove disease scroll will run you 187.5 g.p. wholesale,
as will remove curse.

Becton will get:

-(1) scroll each of remove curse and disease
-Replace my old wand for new one (how many charges? 50?)
-(4) Holy water vials

All told, about 425 gp, I think.

Male Human Cleric 4

As far as shopping goes, and I'm sorry to repeat this if I've already asked: what would a Cure Disease or Remove Curse scroll go for?

Secondly, what about holy water vials?

Also, what costs would be involved in recharging the healing wand - or can it be anyway?

Male Human Cleric 4

Becton will return to the temple briefly to offer his trade coin as a further donation to his previous one (I'm assuming they took the 500 gp I was willing to give earlier, but just checking). Assuming the possibly scandalous nature of its origins doesn't upset, that is.
I may suggest that it be kept where it can't be used as magical tool for spying perhaps?

"If it makes you anymore at ease, Riese, my token coin has been given over to the church. I won't be "indulging" in the Dryad's hospitality at this point; so at least one of us can keep an eye on things - figuratively mind you." The last part comes with a grin.

"While I think it's best to get back to the manor for a few days, if you want to check this place out - I suppose I could go as a representative of the church to offer my thanks."

OK - based on that. I would offer to give the Pelorite temple 500 gp of my share as a servant of Pelor, plus as gratitude for their kind works on our behalf. It seems they'll need it as we resolve this whole situation. Sound workable?

Been at work most of the day - someone else called in sick. So, I've been out of the loop today.

Male Human Cleric 4

I'll admit to not tracking the haul in coinage as much as I should. How much can we be expecting to each receive at this point?

Becton merely nods at the order. "It's the least thing I want to do, Great Lady of Pelor."

"But I'm worried how the standing of the church will affected by some of these 'pilgrims' running around committing foul deeds."

"I will engender only to pursue those responsible for villany against Saltmarsh and this temple - wherever that may be located."

2 oils of magic weapon
2 potions of cure mod wounds
1 potion of bull's strength.
1 nonmagic masterwork mace
2 nonmagic mwork greatswords
1200 g.p. total all three guys

We need to sell this crap, split it and I wanna shop!

Well ,I'd rather keep the spiritual weapon scrolls, or maybe the potions of cure moderate wounds. But, I'll wait for a verdict otherwise from the group.

"I don't like this sort of thing," she prefaces, "but information is information, I don't wonder."

"I pray Pelor's light guide your divination, Lady." Becton adds for support. While I'd hardly call it any physical attraction, I'd say Becton wants to make a good impression - it's like he's talking to the regional manager and doesn't want to screw it up. So, maybe he's sounding a little too corny?

Male Human Cleric 4

That sounds like a workable set of questions; there aren't any others that would work better that come to mind.

Male Human Cleric 4

Becton gives his thanks for all her help, and the aid of her sanctuary. I'll let Beldan decide, but given her testing - I'm tending to think that a trip to Salinmoor for a cure won't be needed at this point. If he does want to go, then I'll be happy to accompany him.

As mentioned, whoever's splitting up the coinage, my cut would go to the church both as a 'thank you' and to cover any supplies that were needed to take care of this mess.

I'm thinking that a watch should be kept on the slaughterhouse as well - to see if Vander comes back sometime before our next meeting with him. I think he'll be surprised.

Otherwise, unless we are needed for another task here in town (or perhaps the priestess has further tasks or news from the council that need to be checked on), I think a trip back to the mansion is in order. Don't forget to bring some rum for the brothers who are watching our place.

Male Human Cleric 4

Since Altai's pretty much blurted everything out, there's not much for Becton to add. The things he does include is:
a) The fact that several locals and "pilgrims' - all dressed in Pelorite regalia - were down there too. Apparently, getting high, but also giving themselves over to some dark ritual involving the hookah - something I would ask Altai to show the woman at some point.

b) The concern involving a statue of Orcus, plus the ceremony and the swarm of ghouls. It seems that it may require marshalling of holy forces to destroy the creatures, plus a consecration to destroy the vile place.

c)Simply to ask her to see if she or any other acolytes can assist in providing medical aid to the wounded folks. Also, that Beldan may have to have some special casting done to make sure he wasn't infected with lyncathrophy. Of course, any of the treasure that would be considered my share would go to her as donation for her temple's assistance.

As for Stig and the new dwarf, thanks for the translations - otherwise all I'm getting is "poob de poob..poob poobibe...poobed poobie." Its hilarious!

I'll await input from the rest of the folks on this one - but my first input would be that we did drag him along.

"That's correct, soldier. We've been investigating some suspicious characters, and discovered some bizarre activities beneath the slaughterhouse. If you'll allow my comrades to continue on to their destination for recovery, I'll show you what we discovered."

Again, before we go off too far, I'm thinking some input from the rest of the gang might be helpful. Just trying to keep things legit; and some of our more "unlawful" members out of trouble.

Male Human Cleric 4

It sounds like we're going to head for the temple then. If Gittik can hold on until we get there, maybe we can get some healing while we are there. Otherwise, I'll heal you up once we get a break. Maybe Elgan can spare some healing; I'm almost fresh out at this point - besides using the want that is.

Question: Did we drag the lycanthropic Anderhoff brother along with us? I can't imagine we would have left him behind as a possible witness/suspect. Or was he dead by the time we came back.

Question #2: What about Mavin? Was he still there when we returned to the main rooms? What happened to him otherwise?

If nobody else wants to speak with the nightwatch - I guess I could say we were investigating some pilgrims and discovered the bloody mess below the slaughterhouse. I know that complicates matters, but I'm not certain we can do much else given our current state and appearance.

Male Human Cleric 4

"This might explain the earlier observation as to why there was never any refuse from the slaughterhouse work. If the lycanthrope wasn't munching on it, I guess the ghouls might have been. Also a nice way to get rid of any enemies or disruptions to their activities - like us."

Male Human Cleric 4

While I think most of us should head for either the bar or the manor, somebody should be on hand to report what they have found - possible breaking and entering charges aside. I'd be willing to stay, if only so I can report that I found the Pelorites pretenders down here. That may be enough of a pretense to reveal what the Anderhoffs have been up to. Don't forget that we also have one of the Anderhoff bros. tied up back there; and he's not exactly going to win points with authorities when his lycanthropy is reavealed.

Also, I may need to get Beldan to the Pelorite Arch-priestess to see if she can check him/heal his possible lycanthrophy as some point soon.

Male Human Cleric 4

Becton will burn a 2nd lvl spell to heal Harvak with CMW:2d8+4=15
"That should help you bit."

"I could try turning them again, but I doubt I'd be able to weaken a whole mob over time - if we think we need to go back down."

Male Human Cleric 4

Wishing I had big 'ol Indiana Jones style boulder to roll down the tunnel about now...

Male Human Cleric 4

As we retreat, I'm trying to remember - were there any doors or ways to block the entrance we came down? Otherwise, we may have to collapse the tunnel to keep them from all following en masse.

Male Human Cleric 4

Seeing as everyone is down by the time Becton has huffed his way up to the scene, he turns around to also exit. But, seeing as they have a whole swarm of undead approaching - he summons Pelor light to hold the monsters at bay while the others retreat. Again, his holy symbol and shield begin to glow with pure white light.

"Everyone...go! Pelor's light should aid us in defense against these abominations!"

Turning check (1d20+4=23)- should affect up to any 7 HD undead.
Turning damage (2d6+5=10)

Range is 60' feet, so he'll place himself at such point as to cut off their approach and keep them from blocking our way out while everyone retreats. Assuming this takes longer than a round, can he try again the next round - the goal is to give people enough time to retreat.

Male Human Cleric 4

Becton will also begin his charge towards the foes. On the third round, he will:
He will use holy Strength domain power, making it STR 17, for one round and then mace attack whomever looks most threatening. Barring that, he'll probably either check on Pharsia or whoever in the party looks hurt/dying.

Just kind of mapping it out in case the action moves quickly all of a sudden.
