Baroso Bosterndo is a old, middle-class scribe and somewhat accomplished wizard, living in a small home in Absalom. He makes ends meet doing commission work, scribing scrolls mainly. Although quite personable, he is still a recluse, preferring to read in the Absalom libraries studying history rather than dealing with other people, who can be quite unpleasant.

He has an intense curiosity about ancient secrets of the Osirion Empire, and on occasion he will catch wind of rumors regarding forgotten artifacts of his native Osirion. Whenever this happens, he becomes dead-set on tracking down the lost treasures, allowing none to come between him and his goal. Although he wants no more than to be able to study them, he is very adamant about it. Although he can be quite deadly with a crossbow, he is not a violent person. Rather, he uses his wizardly education to befuddle, route, or mislead his opponents, a habit which has earned him many enemies.

In spite of this, he is always hesitant to enter a fight, believing it to be a waste of time. If an illusory wall or well-placed grease spell will get him to his goal faster, he won't think twice about leaving his foes alive but inconvenienced.
