Female Aasimar Inactive

Thanks for letting us know. :) Take care.

Female Aasimar Inactive

No worries. It is really up to you. I don't think that any of us mind the game going slowly, or we would have already dropped. I don't think there is any time pressure.

I am okay if you want to end the game though, too. You won't be disappointing me... I have a lot of games, and I'll be happy either way. :)

Female Aasimar Inactive

Okay.

Azlana sees them gambling for body parts and decides it isn't worth talking. She shoots at the closest one.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 2 - 2 = 9 (favored enemy, rapid shot)
Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 7 + 2 - 2 = 24

Damage 1: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 2 = 6
Damage 2: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 2 = 7

Female Aasimar Inactive

After the door is open, Azlana follows, her bow ready.

Female Aasimar Inactive

Azlana could certainly sympathize with Lina's perspective, and didn't want to disappoint her, but Azlana felt like the guy was sending off signals that he wanted to change... He wasn't attacking them, and he seemed to have a conscience. She wanted to make sure he had the room and the support to change his ways, if that is what he chose.

I mean, obviously, if he attacked them or started murdering the good guys, she would shoot him in the head... but for now, it seemed to be going well, and she wanted to give it a chance. So, she remained silent, hoping that this wouldn't harm her friendship with Lina.

She waited while the others went in to scout.

Female Aasimar Inactive

Gray Garrison... that's where we were going anyway, right?

Azlana tries to assist Shayde in seeing how to get in.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Female Aasimar Inactive

You sound like you should be a Kurgess worshipper. He's all about competition and proving that you are right... maybe you should look into it. The good side has some nice perks. No guilt trips, always knowing you are morally superior... that would be a good one for you. :) Good friends too. :)

She smiles again.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

Who are you taking down next? Want some company?

Female Aasimar Inactive

I'm down by 9, but I can channel to help everyone, and then you can get anyone who needs more if you want.

Azlana gathers everyone up and channels to heal, happening to do it close enough so that the armored man can take advantage of the healing as well, and moves any bad guy bodies that might not be all the way dead out of the way.

Channel: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4

Whoops, we better do that again.

Channel: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11

Better. Everyone healed for 15.

Then she says to the armored man

You're pretty good at the whole fighting evil thing. You should join up with us and be one of the good guys. She smiles.

She's joking around with him, giving him a safe way to laugh it off if he wants to, but she is really trying to sound him out to see if he might want to, you know, do the Darth Vader thing and reject the dark side in the end.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28

Female Aasimar Inactive

Azlana shoots at the remaining howler:

Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 2 - 2 = 9 (rapid shot)
Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 2 - 2 = 11

Damage 1: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 2 = 10
Damage 2: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 2 = 9

After the howler is dead (obviously not due to her efforts) she waits to see what the armored man will do.

Female Aasimar Inactive

I saw in the discussion that I don't need to make the save (thanks Lina--had no idea I was immune).

Azlana shoots at one of the remaining demons:

Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 2 - 2 = 26 (rapid shot)
Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 2 - 2 = 12

Damage 1: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 2 = 11
Damage 2: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 2 = 7

Female Aasimar Inactive

Azlana, instead of attacking again, moves northwest, making sure to stay far enough away from the bad guys to not get within attack range.

She then channels to heal her party.

Channel: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 3) = 6

Should get all of the allies since my character can see the outside corner of Hanna's square. Unfortunately, it gets most of the bad guys too. No selective channel, and even if I had it, it wouldn't cover all the enemies in range. Hoping that keeps Shayde up, but if you need more, Shayde, walk over to my character and I will give you a direct heal.

Female Aasimar Inactive

If you can manage to retreat my way, I'll heal us all up a little.

Female Aasimar Inactive

Azlana shoots at the demon to the north of her position, trying to take the pressure off Lina.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 2 - 2 = 27 (rapid shot)
Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 7 + 2 - 2 = 24 (rapid shot)

Damage 1: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 2 = 9
Damage 2: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 8

Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 2 - 2 = 16

Might not confirm, but here's the damage just in case. :)

Crit Damage: 2d8 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (1, 7) + 4 + 4 = 16

Female Aasimar Inactive

Azlana shoots again at the same thing, even though it moved to attack Ueto instead.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 7 - 2 = 6 (rapid shot, and +2 if evil outsider)
Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 7 - 2 = 11 (rapid shot, and +2 if evil outsider)

Damage 1: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 (and +2 if evil outsider)
Damage 2: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 (and +2 if evil outsider)

Looks like two misses. I'm going to have to start bribing dicebot. :)

Female Aasimar Inactive

Azlana steps back again, a little worried that she is going to be backed into the wall, but still determined not to let that happen. She continues to shoot at the thing attacking her.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 7 - 2 = 6 (rapid shot, and +2 if evil outsider)
Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 7 - 2 = 11 (rapid shot, and +2 if evil outsider)

Damage 1: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 (and +2 if evil outsider)
Damage 2: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 (and +2 if evil outsider)

Female Aasimar Inactive

Azlana shoots again, twice in rapid succession at the thing to the north.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 7 - 2 = 20 (and +2 if evil outsider)
Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 7 - 2 = 22 (and +2 if evil outsider)

Damage 1: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 (and +2 if evil outsider)
Damage 2: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 (and +2 if evil outsider)

Female Aasimar Inactive

Azlana takes a serious wound, but she simply takes a step back and shoots again, twice in rapid succession.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 7 - 2 = 21 (and +2 if evil outsider)
Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 7 - 2 = 19 (and +2 if evil outsider)

Damage 1: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 (and +2 if evil outsider)
Damage 2: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 (and +2 if evil outsider)

Female Aasimar Inactive

Azlana doesn't think for a moment that they are on the same side, but with all the demons about, and him so far fighting on their side, she decides to worry about the weird demon-worshipper guy later.

She moves a little closer and shoots at the Howler.

Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 1 = 16 (and +2 if evil outsider)
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 1 = 6 (and +2 if evil outsider)

Ugh. Probably a miss.

Female Aasimar Inactive

Azlana casts Veil of Heaven.

Veil of Heaven wrote:

EFFECT

Range personal or 5 ft.; see text
Target you or all creatures within 5 ft.; see text
Duration 10 minutes/level (D)
Saving Throw Will half; Spell Resistance none

DESCRIPTION

You surround yourself with a veil of positive energy, making it harder for evil outsiders to harm you. For the duration of this spell, you gain a +2 sacred bonus to AC and on saves. Both of these bonuses apply only against attacks or effects created by outsiders with the evil subtype. You can dismiss this spell as a swift action to deal 1d8 points of damage + 1 point per paladin level to all such outsiders within 5 feet. A Will save halves this damage.

(She gets this from her purifier Oracle class even though she isn't a Paladin.)

Female Aasimar Inactive

Zanbabe; same as here.

Female Aasimar Inactive

I don't really like Roll 20 because it takes so long to log in and get to the map. Google docs are way easier for me. That said, we should do what is easiest for *you* as the DM. I am in another game that makes us go to Roll 20, so I can cope. :)

Female Aasimar Inactive

I think we just need to go to the next place, right? But people could still be on vacation (I fly back on the 4th), so it might be slow if you are waiting for something specific.

Female Aasimar Inactive

I don't think so. Let's go.

Female Aasimar Inactive

Azlana realizes that she was ready to rush on without that key bit of knowledge. She stops for a moment and listens, reminding herself to be less impatient.

Female Aasimar Inactive

Good advice. Thank you, Ilbareth.

Female Aasimar Inactive

We would of course be grateful for the help, although I am not sure that your wife would be very happy with us if we got you killed. Are you not needed here?

Female Aasimar Inactive

Sure. What do you suggest?

Female Aasimar Inactive

No worries. Thanks for keeping us informed. :)

Female Aasimar Inactive

I'm ready. Don't have enough money to really buy anything new, so just waiting.

Female Aasimar Inactive

Sounds good.

Female Aasimar Inactive

I think we should share out the cash equally... just Hanna doesn’t get to pick any other items till everyone has one, or has passed on the opportunity willingly.

Female Aasimar Inactive

No need to apologize. I think I am losing the plot since we aren't going that fast. You're doing fine. Totally on me. I'll try to read back next time I post.

Female Aasimar Inactive

They report everything to Ilbareth and Azlana goes to check on the people they brought back to make sure things are going well.

Have they made contact with the mongrelmen that offered to help? You might have said that part before, but I don't remember.

Female Aasimar Inactive

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

Azlana looks around to see if there is anyone to ask about the fire, or if there looks like anything unburnt in the rubble that might be a clue. If not, she grumbles about the waste of time, and then heads back to tell everyone about what they found at the first place.

Female Aasimar Inactive

They move on to the next safehouse.

Female Aasimar Inactive

Fine with me. How many safehouses are there?

Female Aasimar Inactive

In general, the people who don't have any healing ability should probably carry them.

I'll take the invisibility potion if no one else wants it, but totally fine if someone else does want it.

Female Aasimar Inactive

Yikes. Sounds like they are going to try to finish off Kenabres. We'd better go report back.

They gather up all of the stuff they found before they head back.

Female Aasimar Inactive

Azlana searches the body and the room for any information they can gather about the cult... (and of course valuables) along with anyone else who wants to help.

(Then I assume we go take out the other people and search the whole place.)

Female Aasimar Inactive

Wasn't talking to him to distract him for the attack... just trying to gather information, and then since he didn't have any, moving on to the stabby part. And I did roll bluff when I was talking to him.

Female Aasimar Inactive

As Shayde attacks, Azlana takes a step back while drawing an arrow and also attacks, trying to down the leader of this cell before he can call his friends.

Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Female Aasimar Inactive

Azlana nods to Shade, in case he wants to get stabby.

Female Aasimar Inactive

When is Minagho going to call? I'm freaking tired of the pointless patrols. Why don't you let us go ahead to the next city and scout?

Female Aasimar Inactive

I'll try to get him to give something away, but feel free to attack if it goes poorly at all... or even if you just feel like it. :)

Instead of doing as he says, Azlana challenges Faxon in a louder than normal voice, but not to the level of yelling. Just sounds angry and frustrated.

Faxon, why are we doing so little? We could just attack them and be done with it. They are still weak and in shock. These patrols are ludicrous!

Bluff: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Female Aasimar Inactive

Oh. Wow. Okay. Sorry I was confused.

Female Aasimar Inactive

I think she meant, how many have we seen overall as we've come in and are now proceeding downstairs? Like just a few--maybe 10, more like 20, or does it seem crowded with them all around us and we think that there are 50 or more in the place?

Female Aasimar Inactive

Azlana takes the bedroll and nods her head, trying to assess the danger they are in.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

How powerful are these guys? Can we take them if we do it in small batches, or do some of them look much more powerful than our group?

She starts down to the basement to see if they can learn some information from Faxon before killing him.

Female Aasimar Inactive

Azlana goes along with it, but stays very aware and tries not to let the party get surrounded.

Female Aasimar Inactive

Azlana moves up to the tower and knocks on the door, using the passphrase if someone answers.

Female Aasimar Inactive

Azlana laughs. I think that was me, actually. I cast Detect Demon, and I knew he was a Demon worshipper, but I didn't realize it wasn't an actual Demon until he started talking. But you're right. He was too much for us regardless, it seems. I wonder who he was going to kill in the tower, and if we are going to regret not allowing him to do so.
