When Ayva hears 'Noxian warband' she's already on alert. Just moments after the General leaves, she's already turned around to go after him, taking steady, measured strides towards the door. But the mention of knighthood stops her in her tracks. Up until now, she'd been running headfirst into danger without much thought, but a mission directly from the King's Emissary certainly trumped whatever impulsiveness she felt, no matter how helpful. Ayva turns back to face Lux and bows again. "I accept this mission."
Ayva offers a quick, polite bow to each of the three present. Her movements are slightly stiff, but her intent is clear. "We have reason to believe that the owlbear attack was a diversion, meant to draw the Vanguard and cause chaos. The assailant who freed the creature left a weapon at the scene, as well as a note that indicates an intent to do harm to Garen Crownguard." She will nod for the person holding onto them to step forward and present.
Ayva meets Rei's glare, her own expression and tone unchanged. "You are incorrect. I explicitly announced that all civilains should vacate, and you did not. However, I have not been appointed an official position - You are under no legal obligation to obey my suggestions." "Regardless, I have no intention of 'sitting back'." If Poppy cannot direct her towards the local authorities, she will ask the locals until they can provide the information she needs.
"Unacceptable," Ayva says, pointing out the 'N' on the blade. "This is clearly a military conflict. This means I cannot condone any course of action that would place a civilian in harm's way. I must report to the highest military authority present."
"The note is likely meant to goad the assailant's true target into action. They expected the bugbear attack to draw the Vanguard - they did not anticipate our presence." Ayva turns to Poppy and lowers her voice. "I am going to ask you a question. Please answer yes or no - say no more. Do you know the current location of Garen Crownguard?" -Posted with Wayfinder
Ayva looks at the scuff marks as well before moving over to the wall. "The trail leads upwards. I will give you a boost." She cups her hands together and looks to Coco expectantly.
Ayva turns the lock over in her hands a few times, examining the cut. This did not look like the work of an ordinary vandal - whatever tool was used to make this cut was obviously of fine quality, likely masterwork. She will share her findings with C, and anyone else who is listening.
Ayva moves over to Bobo's cage and scans for signs of tampering or damage. It did strike her as quite strange that the creature would suddenly break free and attack, if it had been docile until now. She wasn't quite sure what to look for though.
"I have never encountered "Bobo" before his escape today. However, I am willing to help repair any damage caused by our altercation." Ayva gives Coco an obviously confused luck. "I cannot recall having such an alias. Is this what you would call 'improvisation'?"
Ayva lowers her voice to respond to Coco. "I do not know. She downplays her own significance, but others seem to have great respect for her. A local hero, perhaps?" "I will pay for your next meal, to replace this one."
"Negative. I was unable to determine the cause of the commotion," Ayva says. With the bugbear down, she takes her shield off of her arm and replaces it on her back. Turning to the newly arrived Yordle, "Are you the primary authority in this settlement?"

Agreed. Enemy surrender would be the preferable outcome. Though she has taken note of the nearby Yordle, she has yet to address her directly. Subduing the threat in front of her took precedent.
Ayva swings, but the creature's violent movements make it hard to land a hit. Attack ineffective. Recalculating.
"I suggest subduing the creature as quickly as possible through brute force." She seldom suggested anything different. Before she has a chance to act on it, she sees the chains fly out and bind the owlbear's legs.
The moment Ayva heard screams, she was already moving. Running full speed toward the disturbance, she places herself between the crowd and the owlbear, shield raised. Owlbear threatening innocent bystanders. Animal-level intelligence; diplomacy ineffective. Demacian laws in effect; magic unavailable. Options limited. Recommended action - subdue in melee combat. "All civilians, vacate the immediate area!"

Has anyone tried sending Choon a PM? They may not have noticed the gameplay thread go up.
"I possess neither the capability to reduce my weight nor to increase the level of illumination without the use of arcane abilities that are forbidden within Demacia." Ayva accepted one of the sticks and took a bite. The food did taste pleasant, so she took another. While simple rations provided adequate nourishment, the soldier found it endearing that her travelling companion insisted on luxury foods that contained little sustenance.
Ayva stationed herself near one of the town's busier intersections, standing out of the way but in plain sight. The large, metal woman had grown accustomed to being a spectacle outside of Piltover, but did nothing to draw additional attention to herself. With a great number of important Demacian officials in the city, she would have to be extra vigilant to protect them from any dangers.
I understand. Crises rarely occur when we are most prepared to deal with them. I'm still here and ready to play.
Seems the GM hasn't posted all week. Busy with work, I'm guessing?
So, will we have a sixth?
So are we doing max hit points at 1st, and roll after?
I've used roll20 for a while now, and tbh, sometimes I feel like it's more trouble than it's worth. I appreciate the usefulness of the maps, and have no problem using it for that, but I would prefer not to play on it if I don't have to. That said, I'm not unwilling - if that's where the game is, I'll make it work.
Hey Ayva, was wondering, since we both came to Demancia from Piltover, perhaps we ended up travelling together. I don't have a problem with that. Ayva is a little socially inept, so she wouldn't exactly make friends. But she also wouldn't object to you travelling with her, provided you didn't cause any trouble.
I'm curious, how well known is the law about arcane magic? Specifically, would a character from another nation already be aware before arriving, or is it something they'd have to be told?

Ayva should be good to go. I didn't see you mention was how to calculate hit points though (average, max, etc.) so let me know what I should do with that. |
