About Avicia

A Fiery Baptism:

Avicia was once a beautiful creature of Varisian heritage, she played and danced like all Varisian children in the caravans of her people. Then they came to Korvosa for a little stay to trade and perform as they always had, for a few days it was good... Then plague broke out near where they were staying and the Hellknights of the Nail finally possessing an excuse to eradicate the Varisians from Korvosa. Those who were not slaughtered by the Hellknights were rounded up and sent to be tried by the courts to decide their fates.

As a child Avicia was not killed but was to be "reeducated", which meant in effect that the next few years of her life were a living Hell... She chafed under the strict discipline of the Temple of Asmodeus and especially of the Sisters of the Golden Erinyes who tried to train her to be one of their own.

Appearance:

Avicia was once a wholesome, good natured peasant girl the type cynical Brelish call "sunflowers". Yet after her near death experience Avicia has become a "wilted sunflower" as the Brelish call those Thranian women who has been in the business of prostitution for several years. Her blond hair once so slavishly maintained is now a untamed mat, her once kind, blue eyes are now purple and blood shot. Avicia's face once so beautiful and unmarred is now jutted with pulsing blue, purple veins. While her formally plump form has become skin and bones. She wears a set of clothing that has seen better days, they are a far more beaten down version of what most Lhaazar sailors wear. A set of tattered black trousers, a bleached white shirt and a set of old leathery sea boots.

Personality:

Avicia was once a pleasant individual, now she is a jaded woman prone to paranoid delusions (or are they?) and acts of terrible violence. To be fair acts of terrible violence are exceptionally common in her new locale. Avicia more then even the voice constantly whispering in her mind fears and hates priests, paladins and generally anyone who venerates the flame. For these hated foes Avicia reserves no quarter nor mercy, even if they are knocked unconscious or helpless she isn't going to hesitate in the administration of death. Yet despite all these flaws Avicia is also an exceptionally cunning individual, she understands the worst instincts of human kind and knows how to exploit fear and hate in her enemies. She also fights like a cornered lion, she would have to read a dictionary to understand the term surrender.

Feast of Souls:

-Feast of Souls: When the invoker coup de graces a
creature with her mystic blast, she may feast upon the
creature’s soul to enhance her own abilities. If she does so,
she treats her caster level as two higher than normal, deals
an additional 1d6 points of damage with her mystic blasts,
and the DCs to resist her boons or incantations increase by
2. These benefits last for one minute per HD of the creature
killed. This ability may only be used to consume the soul
of a creature whose HD is no lower than the invoker’s HD
minus 4. If the invoker consumes the soul of a creature
with more HD than her own, she must make a Fortitude
save with a DC equal to 10 plus the creature’s HD or be
sickened for 1 hour. Creatures whose souls are consumed
by this ability may not be resurrected for twenty-four hours
(after which time their soul has been “processed” by the
invoker’s metaphysical metabolism; this is an extremely
unpleasant experience that deals no lasting harm to the soul in question).

Hungry Flames:

- Hungry Flames:
The invoker’s eldritch might swells as she feeds a portion
of her strength to the dark spirits that fuel her power. For
every two levels an invoker possesses, she may take 1d6
points of damage as part of a mystic blast attack and add
half as much damage as she took (rounded up) to her
damage rolls with mystic blast that round.

Demon's bane:

- Demon’s Bane:
The invoker takes damage from holy water as though she
were an evil outsider.

Fiendish Nature:

-Fiendish Nature:
The invoker counts as an evil summoned creature for the
purposes of the magic circle against evil spell.

against, attempt to grapple, or otherwise touches the caster
takes 1d6 points of damage per 4 caster levels. Attacks with
reach weapons do not triggerthe effects of this incantation.
Once per day when this
incantation is in effect, the caster may end the duration of
the incantation in order to deal 1d6 damage per 4 caster
levels (to a maximum of 5d6 at 20th level) to all creatures
within 15 feet (Reflex halves). If the caster discharges the
incantation in this way, they may not activate this
incantation again for one hour.

Effect Terrible things exist behind invisible gates. The
caster possesses the power to pry open such gates, however
briefly. This incantation functions as summon monster
I except as noted here. At 3rd level, and every 2 levels
thereafter, the power of this ability increases by one spell
level, allowing her to summon more powerful creatures
(to a maximum of summon monster VII at 17th level). A
caster may not have more than one summon monster effect
active through the use of this ability at a time. Creatures
summoned in this way are sometimes hostile to everyone,
including the caster. Each time this ability is used, there is
a 5% chance that the summoned creature will be free of the
caster’s control and attack the nearest creature each turn.
Such creatures cannot be dismissed by the caster.
Duration 1 round/level (D)
Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance no

Blast Trait, Terrifying:

Terrifying: Any creature struck by a mystic blast using this
blast trait must succeed on a Will save or be shaken for 1
minute.
