I don't really care about the orcs. I just wanna kill Omen Eye and am trying to think of ways to do it that won't kill me or get me caught. More difficult than I anticipated x_x. I also haven't been reading the other player's spoilers or posts so I don't really know what's going on except for with my stuff. It's more fun for me that way, and easier not to metagame.
Banquet @ Hall Manor: "I'm pleased to hear that. I was hoping as much. I've been away from the capital too long, and I wasn't sure if they were organized enough to have leadership worth taking out. If you name them I will do what I can in return for the support, financial and otherwise, of your masters. You may talk to them first if necessary, however I need to know as soon as possible. Thank you gentlemen."
Banquet: "I am attempting to claim my right to the throne, as I'm sure you all know. As part of that I've been tasked with improving the community. My idea was to do something to help your masters with the problems posed by the orcs and other greenskins, in return for their support, of course. I was hoping my note would have brought you with ideas of your own. I'm afraid I've been out of the capital too long and I don't know enough about the situation currently. What is the main source of contention?"
Can't we just trust each other not to metagame? I mean we can click on spoilers just as easily as we can read a post. I don't think everyone's stealing your idea Marius, that's just where our knowledge checks led us. I for one don't plan on gallivanting about the countryside defeating bandits. Gavin's looking at food issues. Seamus seems to be working along similar lines as you and Holden hasn't decided yet. I also agree with the rolling thing. We're first level, I mean if I roll a 1 on a knowledge check that means I get a 7. That's not enough for anything and assuming we can't reroll them, what then? I just have no clue who the other important people are in the city, and no way to find them? Don't they have big houses and stuff? Are all our servants also level 1? Is 'the south' part of the city? Is it 2 miles away? 100 miles away? What is the capital called? How many people live there?
Avery will return to his manor and immediately call in his staff. He instructs them to inquire discreetly amongst the Elven and Dwarven upper crust of the city if they would come and meet him to see if anything might be done about the 'greenskin' problem. The meeting will take place tomorrow at midnight in his manor. Guests should remain incognito if at all possible.
Avery glances down at his own gold and red accoutrements before looking back to the Voice. At least he has good fashion sense. He stands at attention in front of his bench, yet his posture is relaxed. He clasps his own forearms behind his back and simply waits for more instructions. In the meantime, he makes a careful study of the masked counselors to see if he can determine which is which. Perception 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
How big is our support structure? I mean obviously, I'd like to have as much as we're allowed to. A network of spies and assassins would be perfect for me. Perhaps I am actually a secret member of a Jade Empire ninja guild and they plan on supporting my intentions to unite Gabel with the Jade Empire to take out Suldran.
Heh, Julius Ceasar much Corvinus? Throwing yourself a triumph already :P Showy bird. I shall have to pluck it. Avery nods his head slightly to the newcomer. His lips are curled in a smile but his eyes remain cold as a viper's, sizing up this foreigner. Knowledge (Nobility) on Corvinus 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 We still waiting for more?
Count Avery Hall comes striding into the council room wearing a beautiful golden silk sherwani. His curly ginger hair is cropped short, in an almost military fashion. Hanging from his earlobes are thick golden rings, set with small pieces of amber. His expression is emotionless and his gaze direct. From shoulder to shoulder drooped across his chest runs a thin golden chain set with rubies at intervals of a few inches. At his waist a red leather sword belt holds a beautiful katana. The scabbard is also red leather, but covered in complex flowing golden filigree. The guard is steel, a thick complexly twining serpent pattern. The hilt is wrapped in leather, and covered in a complexly tied cord grip, ending in a utilitarian steel pommel. He glances quickly about, and sees no one else has arrived yet. He immediately seeks out a bench that has full view of all the entrances and exits to the room, and is not too close, but not too far from the council. He wants to appear ambitious, without overstepping his place. Knowledge (Nobility) 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 Lets see how long it takes the stragglers to arrive.
Background:Count Avery Hall is a bastard son of the king. His mother was a favored concubine of the king and a noblewoman of the Jade Kingdoms. He was raised in the court, and his ambition and skill at 'the game' got him far enough to be publicly acknowledged by the king. This enraged the queen, who had always been jealous of Avery's mother. The king, wanting to get Avery out of the capital awarded him lands on the southern border, as a Count/Earl. He is a skilled and intelligent politician. His nickname at court is the jade viper, due to the habit his enemies have of dying mysterious deaths by poisoning or assassination. His vision for Gabel is strengthening their relationship with the Jade Empire in order to aid them in crushing and plundering Suldran. |
