Shedding some of the gear that she had as they got in, Augrok set into assisting where it was needed, making sure things were secured and prepared for leaving the station. Linking her comm and syncing to the checklist, she was starting to get excited for what was to come. "Yoro, I've got this side over here, you want to sweep the outside?"

NB Half-Orc Colonist • E/KAC 15/16 • SP 17/21 • HP 27/27 • Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +4

Standing at the pronouncement of readiness, Augrok crumpled the container of her slush-food-thing and looked for the nearest waste receptacle. A nod of greeting was offered to Locket. "If Thak vouches for you, it's good with me. Name's Augrok. I came along t'give some payback." The grin that came with the declaration was hard, full of intent. "They took one of ours from Nakondis."

Augrok had been nodding along with the options that she approved of being discussed while idly keeping an eye on the surrounding area. As the approaches had merit, she did finally weigh in on the tactics.

"I know of a couple of weapons that should be able t'get the job done without wrecking their ship. We'd still have t'get aboard and 'persuade' them to give up the ship, though." A couple of passes on her commlink and she had pulled up the schematics for a pair of weapons that can be fitted to ships that could shred the shields and crash their electronics. "S'a short range use, but it's the cleanest approach that won't have us patching hull and maybe missing the window."

She looked to Duncan, then Yoro, and finally Thak to see what their thoughts were on the additions.

Augrok has almost the same body language as Yoro, being part of the looking about to see if anyone had a clue.

Sticking with Duncan to help try to understand the language, and back then up in case some of the other occupants got hostile inclinations. They had a plan, now they just had to get the pieces in place and fine-tune it into something actionable. Negotiating with pirates seemed like a tricky part of the plan, but that was also the fun part.

Mentally adding on a note for a low-tier computer to assist with their needs, Augrok surveys the other shops open around them before nodding to hersef, giving an awkward wave to the water-bodied creature whose name she could not recall. "Thank you", she said to it, before setting out to scout in that direction.

While they did not speak the language, there was a possibility that they may be able to manage some sort of communication... Looking around for some sort of comm-link near them, she set hers to ping locally to see how many responses came back. If it worked, she would see if there was some type of rudimentary image or symbol communication that they could attempt so that they could mutually understand each other.

NB Half-Orc Colonist • E/KAC 15/16 • SP 17/21 • HP 27/27 • Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +4

Likewise, Augrok is looking at the wares somewhat appreciatively, well aware of the rifle across her back that needs some work. The concourse has a good amount of her attention, at the various individuals that were going about their cycle here. A wave was given to the shopkeep, one of the beings like the one that had stayed behind at the colony, and she could not quite recall the name of their race. Interesting. Either way, the perusal was more out of curiosity than a desire to purchase, since Madelon's Landing had seen most of her investment.

"Hello, who trades weapons?", she tried. It was possible there was someone here with something that suited her better than what she currently had.

NB Half-Orc Colonist • E/KAC 15/16 • SP 17/21 • HP 27/27 • Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +4

At a loss for what kind of creature that was, Augrok looks to Duncan to see if that was a issue that was going to be made, her hand flexes the gauntlet, wary but not too concerned about this turning into a fight again. Considering their diversity, they do not really stand out in this area, save for their association. This place seemed to be somewhat self-regulating regarding laws.

Growling to herself, Augrok immediately takes a second to check the action of the weapon, wondering what went wrong with the function that all of the shots went wide like that. "I'm trading this thing for a non-projectile longarm. Gimme lasers anyday. At least then I know to check the mirror or lenses."

NB Half-Orc Colonist • E/KAC 15/16 • SP 17/21 • HP 27/27 • Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +4

This was very much a "rinse and repeat" scenario. As long as they were at a distance, they were at more of a disadvantage. However, they started it, so it was better that it got finished in her favor. A shot was fired, but something was wrong with the weapon, as the shot could not even be considered to have gone "wide".

The thought only occurring now about the use of projectiles in pressurized areas, Augrok takes a couple of steps over to make sure that Thak was not the first one the other hostile encountered if they chose to close the distance. Duncan and Yoro were very likely to have things wrapped up shortly— perhaps she could beat them to it.

Sighting and firing, there was a hiss of displeasure at the shot, feeling something loose in the weapon. Not a good feeling, and a worse shot. Something non-projectile was definitely at the top of the list now.

Not keen for another fight but understanding that sometimes hands are forced, Augrok drops to a knee as the rifle taken from the Azlanti is raised, sighted, and fired at the target that Thak indicated. Getting any of them sandwiched was not a good outcome. It was only after the shot that she recalled that Thak had them briefly distracted, and firing for their anticipated movement was a misread. 'Sol! Gotta shake the rust off— It's been too long!

Strange food, in a strange station with new companions? This was everything that Augrok signed up for! Her armor took a bit longer to get situated, but a couple minutes later she was hustling down the ramp to catch up with everyone. "Exploring this weirdness without me? For shame!"

As they return, Augrok heads to the medical bay, having something to focus her attention on, something new after the time spent traveling in The Drift. Short of taking a few minutes to shed and properly store her equipment, the majority of the time from their return is spent analyzing the information. Frontier medicine, most certainly, tricks and methods learned from being a professional Colonist that provide effective results, if somewhat less aesthetically pleasing. A few hours later, after satisfactory results in analysis, Augrok can be encountered in the common areas, still occasionally glancing at a datapad.

The look of mild disgust crossed her face as she shook some bits of bug off of her gauntlet, looking around at the room in a bit of curiosity. "We'd probably be in more trouble, if that was the case. Nothing critical, Yoro?" Duncan's poking at the nest gave the impression that there were no more bugs. While she might have been partial to fire, she had thought better of that on this station.

"If we're good, lets scuttle this nest and go."

A hiss was her only acknowledgement that the long, thin tongue of the insect slipped past the thin armor of one of the joints, and she managed to get a decent kick in. Though whether it was the insect attempting to prevent the harm she intended, or the luck of the armor design, but it managed to get the thing airborne enough for her fist to be able to connect. The downward swing triggered the strike plates of the gauntlet, and she was treated to a brief flash and sharp squeal.

Looking at what reading that could be gotten from the tools that she had on hand, Augrok went through the standard round of questioning, looking to get as much information as she could about the condition of this individual. "How long has this been going on for the hole to reach that size?" Depending on the answer and the proper identification, using the medbay to fabricate an antibiotic or vaccine might be worthwhile.

"In the meantime, let me do what I can right now, and we can see about a longer-term solution". If permitted, she sets to. "What about these pests?" She swats at one of the insects, "Is there a known repellent for them?"

Yoro's question gave them an out from contemplating the curious beverage in front of them, and they came over with a nod of greeting. "Augrok", they said by way of greeting. "If you don't mind, let me take a look at you..." The medikit was part of the armor, so as to take advantage of some of the minor features. The chemanalyzer was probably going to be of benefit this time.

Augrok had picked a drink at random and the concoction that sat in its container in front of her as she tried to identify the species that they were approaching. What was in the glass seemed less appetizing by the minute as it settled into something dubious. If it started separating, she was pushing it away.

While trade hubs have been typically busy, the knowledge that they were in the edge of Azlanti space and not pact world space made the experience somewhat different. Where the default races would have been recognizable, there was distinctly a lack of them, replaced by fringe races from elsewhere. So she tried to see which was the most common— if any– or which traits seemed the most prevalent.

Just like Duncan, Augrok was taking a minute to take everything in, trying(and failing) to catalogue the life forms that were visible, the state of the station, and what things counted as "normal" for this place. From the air to the occupants, to the lack of familiar surroundings, so much of this seemed uncertain. Nonetheless, she stepped in with the rest, and tried to make sense of the layout.

NB Half-Orc Colonist • E/KAC 15/16 • SP 17/21 • HP 27/27 • Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +4

"The kind of place that gets unwanted visitors, maybe?" Augrok thought aloud. "We are on the edges of Azlanti space a bit."

As Duncan worked, she came over to see if she could assist in any of the work, and taking note on what she did not quite follow with her frontier skills. "The air makes me think that this place is somewhere near 'minimum standard habitable'." Shrugging her shoulder, she tried to jostle the mag-sling that she had tinkered with on her armor, but it held.

While it did not look it, she was also listening for any language that she could place, as the number of individuals that were in this area were quite the variety, and she could not put a name to any of them just yet. At least none of them seemed hostile.

NB Half-Orc Colonist • E/KAC 15/16 • SP 17/21 • HP 27/27 • Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +4

Augrok was adjusting the feel of her armor, settling it into place as Yoro walked out, and had to lengthen her stride just a bit to try to keep up with the Vesk. The gauntlet was a familiar weight on her hand, and the pistol at her thigh was almost nostalgic. The most notable part of her armor was the red roaring bear head in profile across her right shoulder and breast. Hand-painted some time ago, it was weathered like the armor, but still served its purpose.

A roll of her shoulder settled the rifle slung over her shoulder a bit better, giving Yoro a sardonic look. "They'll learn that they bit of more than they might have comfortably wanted, then." She stepped out after them, giving the place a once-over while she took in the air of the station. "Whoof... Nakondis wasn't this muggy, interesting atmo."

NB Half-Orc Colonist • E/KAC 15/16 • SP 17/21 • HP 27/27 • Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +4

Their approach to the station was noted by Augrok, who only offered a somewhat dubious expression at the station they were approaching. The modifications and analytics of the armor was almost done, so everything was functional whether or not they would actually use them. "That is certainly a design choice...", she offered with a bit of skepticism.

NB Half-Orc Colonist • E/KAC 15/16 • SP 17/21 • HP 27/27 • Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +4

While the others talked, Augrok was looking over the wares, and kept coming back to the Clear Aeon Stone with a thoughtful expression. Admittedly, she had to keep pulling out her comm to read the info points for the item, but considering where they were and what they could encounter, that item could save a lot of discomfort in the long run. Food and water were one of the things that needed to be established anywhere, and one of the three necessities. So before the merchant departed, she spoke up.

"Everyone, just a recommendation from my profession and my role here, one of these clear stones can do a lot for us in our situation now and in the future. Proper nutrition and hydration is often a make or break condition." Indicating her desire to purchase one, she figured that they could set it into something so the orbiting might not be so annoying.

NB Half-Orc Colonist • E/KAC 15/16 • SP 17/21 • HP 27/27 • Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +4

Watching the interaction with her arms crossed and observing the interactions, Augrok was a bit curious about the wares that were on offer. There were a few choice items that she preferred, but it had yet to shake out how things would mesh with everyone when they were in a fight— and there would be fights. So she was trying to keep an open mind while preparing for a broad range of possibilities.

NB Half-Orc Colonist • E/KAC 15/16 • SP 17/21 • HP 27/27 • Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +4

At the mention of something interesting happening, Augrok meandered out into the doorway to see wwhat might have been available to purchase. There had been a bit of tinkering with their gear, not having been a fan of what the Azlanti armor represented. Finding and fabricating some visors that worked was the current plan, though. There was that one suit from the officer, but the drawback to that was that they would be expected to speak, whoever wore it.

"I've got some spare credits too, let's see what's on offer."

NB Half-Orc Colonist • E/KAC 15/16 • SP 17/21 • HP 27/27 • Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +4

Augrok is spending the time to look over the suits of Azlanti armor that were stowed on the ship, patching and tuning for those that planned to be part of the deception in getting into the prison. Some training was done with Yoro, and other time was spent getting herself up to speed now that she was healed. Cubber was good company at times, and other times, she spent hanging in the company of Sevens. The rest of the time, she spent looking out at the Drift, watching worlds pass by.

Coordinating with Duncan to integrate the gear, the work gets done. Nostalgic work, but it felt good to be doing something that was more than just follow-up for common planet exposure. "There a plan for all o'us not lookin' like one of the Greenies?"

The outset of the trip was spent observing the dynamic between the group and adjusting to it. Appreciably, there were a few heads that she could bounce ideas off of, and the Brenneri— Thak– was quicker on the uptake than she was. Maintaining her gear was a habit that she fell back into with some brief misgiving, but payback made for great motivation. Her grin was wry as she looked up from the diagnostic tool that she was reviewing.

"Here's to gettin' a little strange, then." A brief bark of a snort and a laugh punctuated that comment in that colonist drawl that spoke of numerous influences. "If they're tryin' to deputize us, they tryin' to offer us any source for materiel?"

NB Half-Orc Colonist • E/KAC 15/16 • SP 17/21 • HP 27/27 • Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +4

Augrok was setting her items into what the quarters were, the several large, hard cases that were standard for colonists stacked neatly atop one another. She was relaxed and dressed in "colonist casual", which was clothing that was more rugged than it was fashionable, often surplus, always in colors that were quite drab. It was often said that it was a coin toss between what was more durable, the clothing or the colonist wearing it.

It was a short trip between Aibretta's shop, and she had stepped away from the gathering to move her things, taking a break to take a last look around. The chime of the communication caught her attention. Not sure what to do about it, a return to the gathering was in order.

NB Half-Orc Colonist • E/KAC 15/16 • SP 17/21 • HP 27/27 • Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +4

The bitter relief was something that still had yet to let go of her. She had spent too long healing the injuries from the initial arrival of the Azlanti, that she missed out on kicking their overly superior green backsides out of the colony. Even now, she could move, and every day was getting better thanks to those little blue vitamins that had started being distributed when the newcomers arrived. Now those, those were helpful.

Healed to almost a hundred percent, she was also definitely sure that she did not want to let go of this grudge without some sort of payback. Able enough to get out and about now, she had heard that Cedona still had not returned. It turned out that the greenies had taken her somewhere, and the newcomers were planning on going after her. That was entirely something that she could get behind. Cedona meant a lot to everyone here.

She wanted a part of that.

The newcomers were not hard to find, especially that Vesk, "Taili" or something like, and it was to that one that she went. Duncan was said to be helping them out, and he was a good sort, too.

"Hey big guy, they say you an'the others are gonna be chasin' after Cedona", she said by way of introduction, catching him during one of his morning practice sessions. It seemed like the guy was minorly known back near Absalom. "Call me Augrok. If you got space for another, I want in."

Duncan:
I'm figuring that she and Duncan know each other, but she got gravely injured by the Azlanti when she first arrived, and has been recovering until now. Lost in thought at the encounter with the frogs, Augrok was reviewing his actions in his head and had missed some of what happened once they carefully crossed the drawbridge. He blinked, shaking himself out of his reverie and looked to Nex. "Hm? Door?" Leaning back, he looked up at the tower and then at the courtyard. Things were in severe disrepair, it looked like, though if it was inhabited...

In the span it took him to take a good look around, Eÿliana had undone the door. "Skillful", he observed.

As they recovered from the fight, Augrok frowned at the carcass of the frog that tried to eat him and shook his head, more annoyed at himself than the frog... Once he untangled himself from the creature's tongue with a bit of distaste at the stickiness. Only then did he notice that the others were crossing the drawbridge. Trying to remember if anyone had mentioned how old this keep was, he tried to be careful in crossing, keeping an eye on the moat.

There was a grunt from Augrok as the frog got the better of him in the tug-of-war. The result of a loss was him being eaten, and that was not something that was going to happen. The red haze began to creep in to the corners of his vision, and he grinned. "One more time, frog!"

Curse this damp ground! Unable to gain footing, his attempt at pulling the frog off-balance was thwarted! At this rate, he was going to have to cut this thing's tongue off to manage.

As they walked, Augrok was looking out at the surrounding environment with the eye of one that knows how to survive off of the land. Learning a new area was always something that took time to accomplish, and the word "investigation" was something that lent itself to longer durations of time. Presuming that they were not suddenly routed, it would behoove him to be able to manage without civilized aid as long as needed.

The trees were tall and green, with the scent of damp grass in the air, along with what the wind brought of burning wood. The earth under their feet was dry, but did not have the quality of dryness from earth starved of moisture, which meant that there was water nearby. It also lacked the scent of stagnation, which meant that the water was moving. They could expect to see some of the larger creatures unintentionally, perhaps.

"Content" was a good term for how he felt right now, paying attention to the land. While the others did not always talk while they traveled, it appeared that most of them were doing as he was, in this new area. Very wise of them.

NB Half-Orc Colonist • E/KAC 15/16 • SP 17/21 • HP 27/27 • Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +4

Augrok makes no secret of appreciating her form, as well as her capability, considering what she had collected during her foray out. Even going so far as to turn and watch her depart, he shook his head and put his attention back on their surroundings. It still awed him at the amount of trees that he could see, as foothills were not too prone to being plentiful in regards to trees. Tall grasses did not quite compare. There were trees that he did not know, as well as the difference in animals that he was enjoying the travel more than he normally did.

Augrok had been intercepted by the group as he was exploring the village, curious about the other tradesmen that were in the town, and quite content to let the others chase down any leads that might have occurred. He did relay what he had heard from the innkeeper— though he could not quite remember the man's name– and listened to what the others chose to relay. His disappointment at the inn's name being distinctly misleading was kept to himself. Still, by this time, the chill in the morning air had blunted with the rising of the sun, and he was finding the morning enjoyable.

The Welcome Wench

Augrok snorted and savored the remainder of his drink as he watched the games of chance play out. He was not a fan of those games, since luck was often determined by the owner of the item of chance. When the mug was empty, he nodded to himself and set the mug down on the bar. It would not be wise to go further into the cups than he had already. When he stood, he took a look at the individuals that looked over at him, but left the inn and followed his ears to the smithy. Maybe by now, the others had left the church.

He would definitely go to the blacksmith to see about maintaining his equipment. After this drink.

There was nothing said beyond a grunt as the half-orc turned over the rumors that were heard, taking a drink from the mug. Not having too much experience with drinks, he could make out nothing beyond the quality of the drink, which was certainly good. He acted like he was appreciating the taste, and set the mug down, contemplating what he had been told. Organized Bandits, more traffic in Nulb, and a Dire Bear with a Hill Giant... The bandits were something of note, the rest he would have to ask about. A reflexive check of his pack by his feet made him notice that the stool had not squeaked, which was good craftsmanship.

Considering the things he was told, he decided to wait for the others to show, wondering what they had found out. What was in his cup was not going to last long, but that was fine. When it ran out, he intended to talk to the local blacksmith. Getting to know someone who might determine whether you came to harm or not was always a good idea. He could remember smelling the tang of hot iron in the wind when they first arrived and wanted to get his weapons examined while he had the opportunity.

The Welcome Wench

There were so many ways to respond to that standard query, though Augrok only smiled a little wider at the mention of the word “boy”, and gave the barback his entire attention. The coins were a pair of silvers, and the near grin was amusement at the display of nerves in the proprietor’s expression. To be honest, he was a bit exasperated at the uncertainty everyone displayed when they saw him. Surprisingly, it got old fast.

”A decent, warm drink to start, and your latest batch of rumors.” Well aware that he held the power—and the money—in this situation, the advantage was his until the others showed up. The day was still early, and while he was somewhat relaxed, this was more courtesy. His other objective was the monk that was sharing time with the warrior near the fire, but that could be accomplished later on this evening. Despite the bar between them, he did lean forward a bit, establishing his presence in this conversation.

It is Augrok’s intent to speak with the monk for incidental training—since he is far from his mentor—though that could be something that could be handled off-screen,

It looked like the ones that were not locals were rather obvious from their manners— and more obviously their dress. Stopping in the doorway, Augrok gave the inn a full scan before walking in, aiming for the bar. The atmosphere of the common room was nice. 'Definitely gives a sense of the town', he thought. There was a bit of disappointment that the inn did not immediately live up to its name, though.

Then again, it was a bit early.

A pair of coins were put on the bar after a creak of leather and a little jingling, intending to buy more information than libation, grinning a little as he waited to see how the bartender was going to react. The kind of reaction he was used to getting was often tempered by the fact that he was usually larger than whomever took offense. Certainly looking like the type that was prone to violence at a moment's notice— well he was, but they did not need to know that– was something that certainly helped.
