Astella looks relieved that the woman seems to have experience and isn't just a temple acolyte.

Ah, yes, that makes sense. ... Caught up in the conflict. I'm Astella. I was orphaned in the war and have been fighting to survive ever since. Our group came together originally to compete in a contest to win a bit of land and a new start. We won, but the situation is much more complicated than expected, and so here we are, still trying to prove ourselves and protect the people on the land that we have deed to. If you join us, you are guaranteed a place with us there if you want it. Although, to claim it we will still have to fight for it. We ran goblins out of the castle, and it still needs massive repairs.

Anyway, getting ahead of myself. Focusing on this mission, the job is to create a distraction so that another group can infiltrate with the information that we've gathered. We might get hurt because our job is to be noticed and draw attention, most of it hostile, I'm sure.

The tunnel is hidden, but there are records of where to look and how to activate it. I'm confident that a small team can get in and activate the magical defenses. A larger force could follow to take over once that is accomplished. ... And it isn't suicide. You just need the right infiltration team.

--A half-elf woman named Neas is in town staying with Jennifer the herbalist, who plans to travel to Avlee after the memorial.

--The town council is making weapons and is concerned about feeding refugees from the goblins.

--Some of the performers for the memorial event are ill and they are in need of help. (Astella might be able to fill in there.)

--The magic users in town are working on a big spell... probably a protection spell, and they need materials and/or help from a couple more casters.

I hear you, Strom. It does seem risky, but it also seems like an important thing to do. Our castle came with a lot of strings attached it seems, and although some days I wish I were free to just adventure, I also remember that when I was free, I was also dirt poor and spent every moment of my life engaged in some sort of survival tactic.

Although the responsibility weighs on me, and we don't seem to be able to earn enough to manage the responsibilities that have fallen to us... at least we're attempting to make a difference to the community. Which is a step up for my life at least. And, for my part, I think the Goblin was being honest. Last time we had a run-in with Goblins, they seemed reasonable, at least in terms of negotiation. I say we stick with it. We can always cut our losses later if we need to, but I am going to try to stick it out a little longer.

Not sure either. Something about trying to protect people from the overall goblin threat, and we heard of an imminent attack, and we wanted to help.

Current quest though... getting back home? Was there something else, non-gobliny?

I don't think we can face a dragon any more than we could face those other quests in the dwarven city we had to wait for, so really not sure next. We still don't have money to rebuild, and we can't protect against the goblins either apparently, so not sure what next?
