Arryn save 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 Arryns armour and strength of purpose are more than the demons attack can break. He imbues his blade with holy purpose smiting the brimorak' demon with the holy power of Ragathiel and bringing all his strength to the blow. Cold Iron Sword with smite and power attack 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 1 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 7 + 1 - 1 + 3 = 24

Arryn waits for all his friends to finish casting spells, then he double moves, bringing up his shield and drawing his could iron longsword... laying hands on himself as a swift action in the process. 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 Will wait to see what other healing goes off before adjusting my sheet. Will move 8 in a straight line. Is there any barriers or difficult ground ahead? Hard to tell with the map

Won't we need saves for the horses and Riding/Handle Animal rolls? I mean... we all just got the s*#@ burned outta us Arryn 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Light Riding Horses (making the assumption here)

Arryns horse rears up in panic at the smell of the creatures moments before the ball of fire hits, shielding the paladin but sending her to the ground, her skin a smoking ruin. What rolls are required now?

Arryn nods in agreement. You are a brave man and a noble warrior but all warriors face wounds that cripple the best of us. Yours will need the healing balm of time and reflection on noble service well done.

The paladin takes a step backward, worried at the uncharacteristic rage from the gnome and at Sir Ilivan He looks around trying to discern if there is something amiss here. Demon possession is the stuff of legends and he's just seen them occupy the bodies of peasants. Sense Motive is only +3, Perception is -1. GM can make whatever rolls are appropriate

I am due to fly o/seas on short notice for a project - I will have delayed posting for the next 3 days. I hope this does not equal 'No posting' and will try to put something up.

Best mount up Arryn leaves 10 gold coin with the villagers to pay for the burials and another 20 for the family of the farmer killed and heads to his horse.

A hard fought fight The faithful of Ragathiel pulls out his wand of Cure Light Wounds and asks if any may tend to him with it. I didn't mean to kill the farmer, he explains simply. I hit hard, not knowing if he too was under some sort of demonic power and he moved into my punch so that I caught him at full strength. I will seek vengeance beyond these demons here, on those that put us both in this situation.

Will 1 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
So 14pts of damage Arryn lays hands on himself 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 then attacks, then steps around and hammers on the creature with his cold iron blade with a heavy swing. Power Attack1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 7 - 1 = 19

Arryn moves past the farmers at a double move focusing on the demons and risking a club attack or two. He draws his cold iron sword as he does so.

Arryn drops his polearm, useless at this range and attempts to punch the farmer in front of him to the ground, knocking him out. 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 7 - 1 = 26

The Paladin attempts to leap across in his masterwork plate... 1d20 + 1 - 5 ⇒ (9) + 1 - 5 = 5 Was moving 4 squares to current position. GM can position me as best he wants with that roll. DC for 5ft jump is 5 and 10ft jump is 10. Depending on if that half square is kosher to land in I MAY be ok

I don't know that the role is 'permanent' but yeah - a front man (or two) would be a good idea for this situation. Modern militaries normally have an advance unit. In the open we can support with bows and can move freely to run up. In a tunnel it pays to be more compact

Scratch the MW transformation The paladin dismounts, straps his shield to his back and takes up his polearm. Holding in low he creeps forward as best Plate will allow.

And this Commander Manaria Wardoxan? She is well supported? With demons it is always the corruption within. Is there any word of suspicion of disloyalty among those who support her? And importantly to me? How do the Andoran recruits fare and perform?

A tall figure clad in polished plate armour rises and salutes Jorsal. I am filled with admiration of your post and your actions Venture Captain and am proud that now I have opportunity to serve under you - I am called Arryn Wildblood, Servant of Ragathiel. While Arryn looks Elvish in some respects, sharing their pointed ears and solidly coloured eyes, he is atypical in others to them - he stands nearly seven feet tall and is very well muscled. His size and his personality radiates a presence of confidence and authority. I will give honour and respect to this Sir Ilivan, have no fear for my part. |
