Aronida eyes Darla with concern. "I can continue, but Darla, are you up for it? I know you spent a lot of spells on the ooze." In the meantime she packs away her healer's kit with some relief. "Thought this might come in handy, didn't realize quite how much."

I guess let's assume Aronida keeps Treating Wounds until everything's healed up. Hour 2: Medicine, Gellius: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Medicine, Gethric: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 Medicine, Alek: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 Hour 3: Medicine, Gethric: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Medicine, Alek: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Medicine, Gellius: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
That should be everyone at full health, Alek included.

As Revka hits them all with divine healing, Aronida tries her best to aid via more mundane means. "Sit down, Gellius. I can't reach your shoulder." With limited success she spends the next forty minutes traveling from party member to party member, fixing what she can. Medicine, Gellius: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Healing, Darla: 2d8 ⇒ (4, 8) = 12 I just went in order from lowest to highest hit points. Bad rolls, but at least Darla's okay? For Revka's healing I'm thinking two 3-action bursts to hit everyone plus one 2-action for Gellius.

"It was rough," Aronida adds to Gethric's explanation. "I've never seen a creature like that before. Nothing I did seemed to harm it overly much. We're fortunate Alek and Gellius' blades proved more effective." She leans against a nearby wall. "Unfortunately Darla had to use most of her spells fixing Gethric up, and Gellius is still hurt. Is Revka around? We could use some extra healing."

"I wish we could have done more, but that was definitely intense. I thought...well it doesn't matter now." Aronida is more than a little shaken by the encounter with the cube, even though it hadn't hurt her at all. "Resting sounds like a good idea." She walks over to Gethric and puts a hand on his shoulder. "It's okay. We're all okay. You did great."

Small amount of distance gained, Aronida focuses on slamming as many arrows as possible into the creature. "Hold on!" Shortbow, IC: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 8 + 1 = 17

Shortbow, IC, MAP: 1d20 + 8 + 1 - 10 ⇒ (9) + 8 + 1 - 10 = 8
Hunted Shot, Strike, Strike.

Aronida has no time to think as three of her friends are immediately engulfed by the creature. She wants to get away, but scrambling over the detritus on the floor proves difficult. Near panic, she whirls around and fires two arrows in quick succession. Shortbow, IC: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 8 + 1 = 27
Shortbow, IC, MAP: 1d20 + 8 + 1 - 5 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 1 - 5 = 10
Precision Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5 Aronida Strides to T27, Hunt Prey, Hunted Shot. I'm guessing the precision damage won't apply but rolled it anyway just in case.

Aronida can't see the creature, but she trusts Darla. She sends two arrows flying in the general direction Darla was pointing. Flat Check: 1d20 ⇒ 1 Shortbow, IC: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 8 + 1 = 27

"What the heck is what?!" Aronida grabs her bow, aiming in the general direction Darla points. Her eyes narrow as she tries to make out what she's talking about. Round 1: Also seeking as my first action. Other actions will depend on how successful the seeking is.

"Guess we might as well go inside and see what's through there." Aronida sticks towards the front of the group, looking for any signs that someone or something might be nearby. Voting to go through the shattered door and scouting as my Exploration Activity.

Seeing that they're staying in the room in a bit longer, Aronida adds her eyes to the search for the chess pieces. As she looks, she muses, "Do you think the soul is still trapped within that gem? Maybe a wizard could free it somehow." She feels distinctly sorry for the poor soul that had been bound to the doll, (even if the doll itself had been trying to kill them). Despite helping collect the pieces, she isn't comfortable handling them for long and gladly passes them over to someone else for safe keeping.

"Definitely not." Aronida cautiously approaches, then, (if it still doesn't move), picks up the mannequin and studies it. "Strange. Who would enchant something like this? And why was it asking to come with us?" It almost makes her feel guilty for killing the thing. She looks around the room a bit, then shrugs. "Last door?" I'm assuming the mannequin doesn't come back to life and there's nothing of major interest in the room. If either of those things aren't true, ignore the part where she suggests opening the last door.

Aronida is stuck outside the room, but she can just barely see the...mannequin? "If you want us to take you with us, stop attacking!" Not expecting the creature to actually respond, she quickly begins firing arrows in its general direction. Shortbow, IC: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 1 = 22
Shortbow, IC, MAP: 1d20 + 8 + 1 - 5 ⇒ (20) + 8 + 1 - 5 = 24
Precision Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6 Hunt Prey, Hunted Shot, Strike. Assuming the 22 and 24 both hit, the total damage was 28.

Aronida eyes the doors warily, knowing that there are supposedly monsters behind them. "Should we just...pick one? I think working our way from outside in makes the most sense." Voting for the western door.

"I'd say go down. The vaults are where we expect to find his ring; not in a random box of stones. It's also where we expect to find the Cinderclaws and learn more about what they're doing."

Aronida continues to stand nearby without laughing by a supreme effort of will. Mighty dragons indeed! Considering how Gethric had reacted to calling the kobolds 'mighty dragons' the first time they'd met, she finds the whole situation rather hilarious. Not posting much because Aronida really doesn't have anything to do here, but wanted to make sure you knew I'm still around.
Female CG Halfling Ranger 2 | HP: 28/28 | AC: 19 | Fort +7, Ref +10, Will +5 | Perception +7 | Low-Light Vision | Speed 25 ft. | Hero Point 0/1
Aronida is somewhat disappointed that the ring in question is not actually the ring they seek, but upon hearing Darla's comment she takes another look. "Yes, that looks like a very nice ring indeed." She isn't entirely sure why Darla wants the ring, but is willing to assume she sees something Aronida does not.

"Huh. Interesting." Aronida studies the elixer with raised eyebrows. "Guess even the really smart ones can't know every language. Makes sense they'd have come up with something to do it for them. Probably won't be much help to us, but maybe someone back in town could use it." Putting the elixer back into the bag, she makes sure her bow is strung before nodding. "Right. No way to know until we ask them, and if they do have it that would save us a lot of searching. Everyone ready to go?"

My inclination is option 2, with the minor adjustment that the GM doesn’t necessarily have to do the botting. Fighters aren’t particularly complicated. I don’t think it would be too much extra work on our parts to have whoever is closest to Gellius in initiative post his actions along with their own. (Obviously this is subject to Darla/Gethric’s agreement.) Option 4 would also be okay; but if we do end up with a six man party Joana might have to adjust some of the encounters. I don’t like Options 1 or 3. A hiatus could well be a death sentence for a game that’s already struggling with momentum. I wouldn’t mind Alek taking a leading role in combat, but it seems risky given that he’s also being respeced into our primary healer.

(Looks at own breakfast which consists entirely of garlic bread.) Uh, no comment here. It sounds like we've still got Aronida (ranger), Darla (bard), Gellius (fighter), and Gethric (rogue). With Alek respeced as a warpriest, that seems like a balanced enough party to not need a fifth. I am okay with inviting someone else though if you think we need it. Also I will point out that Aronida has healer's tools along with being trained in Medicine. In PF1 that wouldn't be anywhere near sufficient, but PF2 has greatly increased the efficacy of non-cleric groups. She doesn't have Battle Medicine so she can't patch anyone up in combat, but out of combat she can supplement whatever healing Alek provides.

Aronida is significantly less grumpy the next morning. She even manages to send a smile Alek's way without accidentally turning it into a scowl. (Alhough the armor still makes her jump a little.) "Thank you Warbal." To be honest she'd mostly forgotten about the promised rewards, but these things do look useful. Most of them, anyway. She picks up the potions, wincing slightly at the language even as she turns them over thoughtfully. "This one's a 'Comprehension Elixir,' not sure what that means. This other one though is an invisbility potion, no ambiguity there. Definitely useful if we need to do any sneaking around." She offers it to Gethric, (the one she deems most likely to do said sneaking around). As Darla and Gethric begin shining up the 'shinies,' she grins and jokingly pretends to shield her eyes. "Now that's a fitting tribute for such mighty dragons!" More seriously, she adds, "I doubt they actually have the ring; they didn't seem the type to risk going downstairs. But if they do, I suspect they'll accept a trade."

I'm sorry, for some reason I didn't see that there were new posts in this game. I'm not sure what happened. Thanks for the PM! As for my input, things have mostly settled down for me. For the past couple weeks I've been able to post basically every weekday. Weekends are a bit more busy, but I'm usually able to at least check and post a short update if I would otherwise be holding something up. I'm comfortable with a slower pace if that works for everyone else, but ideally I'd like to return to posting more often. Part of the reason I didn't notice the lack of notifications was because I'd stopped expecting this game to have regular updates. (I'm certainly also to blame for that, so please no one take that the wrong way.) Edited to add: Revka, I'm very sorry to see you go but understand these things happen. If things calm down, I'm sure we can reintegrate Revka into the group.

"Thanks Warbal, we'll ask them later." Aronida isn't particularly interested in meeting the 'mighty dragons' again, but it's probably worth asking them for the same reason it was worth asking the Bumblebrashers. Not tonight though. She finds a relatively clean corner and collapses into it. "Wake me up when it's time for my watch."
Female CG Halfling Ranger 2 | HP: 28/28 | AC: 19 | Fort +7, Ref +10, Will +5 | Perception +7 | Low-Light Vision | Speed 25 ft. | Hero Point 0/1
Aronida wearily waves a hand at the Bumblebrashers. "Hey. We found our mysterious black-armored visitor. His name's Alek, and he'll be staying with us for now if that's okay. He's looking for a fancy ring, if any of you have found something like that?" She doubts it. If the ring is indeed in the vaults, then it's unlikely the Bumblebrashers, (who seemed to stay upstairs), would have found it. But hey, better to check than to tear the whole place apart only to find out it had been up here all along. (Although if it was up here, she wouldn't be sorry to see him go. Alex seems like an okay guy, and she doesn't want him to go off and get killed exploring the citadel on his own. But there's a part of her that itches seeing that black armor. It may not belong to a Hellknight Order, but it's close enough to make her jump everytime she sees it in the corner of her eye.)
Female CG Halfling Ranger 2 | HP: 28/28 | AC: 19 | Fort +7, Ref +10, Will +5 | Perception +7 | Low-Light Vision | Speed 25 ft. | Hero Point 0/1
"I don't believe we've found any rings." Aronida eyes Alek, still wary despite his confirmation that he never joined the orders. He might not be a Hellknight, and he might not have anything to do with the Cinderclaws, but that didn't make him trustworthy. Despite her doubts, as Darla explains about the Bumblebrashers she bites her lip and then sighs. "Look, I can't speak for the entire group obviously if they disagree, but I think we should join forces. The more swords we have in the group, or bows or spells or whatever, the less likely anyone gets themselves killed. Thoughts everyone?" I'd rather have a potential enemy where I can watch him than running around doing Cayden-only-knows-what, and if he isn't an enemy...then leaving him alone out here wouldn't be right.
Female CG Halfling Ranger 2 | HP: 28/28 | AC: 19 | Fort +7, Ref +10, Will +5 | Perception +7 | Low-Light Vision | Speed 25 ft. | Hero Point 0/1
"Would be, if we were here to prevent looters." Aronida's shoulders tense at the revelation that this man is very much affiliated with the Hellknights even if he wasn't one himself. Order of the Nail. Not Order of the Chain. There's a difference. Maybe. "We were sent here to help out the local goblin tribe after they were attacked by a couple grauladons. The grauladons are dead now, but they were apparently brought here by a group known as the Cinderclaws and their leader, Malarunk. Who are not dead, and apparently are up to no good down in the basements somewhere." Aronida studies Alek's face closely. "Any of that sound familiar? It just seems like a weird coicidence that you'd show up at the same time as this other group." Aronida also wants to Sense Motive, to see if there's any reaction to the mention of the Cinderclaws or Malarunk.

Aronida lowers her bow, but doesn't put it away. "Happy to help," she says in a tone that sounds anything but happy. "Now, mind explaining what you're doing here? This isn't exactly a safe place for a tourist, and I know you're not a local."
Female CG Halfling Ranger 2 | HP: 28/28 | AC: 19 | Fort +7, Ref +10, Will +5 | Perception +7 | Low-Light Vision | Speed 25 ft. | Hero Point 0/1
Aronida eyes the man in black armor with distrust, but has to admit the tiny devils are a more immediate threat. She rushes in, takes quick stock of the situation, and rapidly fires at the closest imp. Shortbow, IC: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 8 + 1 = 18

Aronida shrugs and puts her knife away. "You're the healer. You say it'll recover, then I won't kill it. Don't think any predators will make their way inside, not with the stench of bugbear everywhere, so it should be fine." Considering the matter of the squirrel settled, she pays attention to the other conversation happening in the room. "I don't really want to leave yet, not without finding out who our mysterious figure is." She looks hard at Gellius. "But when you're done, we're done. Don't push yourself harder than you need to."
Female CG Halfling Ranger 2 | HP: 28/28 | AC: 19 | Fort +7, Ref +10, Will +5 | Perception +7 | Low-Light Vision | Speed 25 ft. | Hero Point 0/1
Aronida studies the squirrel for a moment. "Unless we want to stick around for a while and try to treat its injuries, it'd be more merciful to put the poor thing out of its misery." If she were alone she wouldn't hesitate, but she knows non-hunters can sometimes be squeamish about such things. Maybe for them it would be worth the time and resources to try and save the creature's life. If no one raises an objection, she'll use a knife to put the squirrel down as cleanly as possible.

"I'm going to guess you're not with the Bumblebrashers." Aronida sighs even as she lets her arrows fly. Truth be told it's simpler this way, but she can't deny she was hoping for a easier conclusion. One with less blood. She looses a couple more arrows, then steps backwards. She's not one to stand in the way of danger; she much prefers taking care of it before it can come close enough to reach her. "Gellius, be careful!" Hunted Shot, IC: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 1 = 24

Aronida whips her bow towards this new threat. "If you're with the Bumblebrashers, we mean no harm!" Goblinoid however was not the same as a goblin, (and even if she was a goblin that didn't necessarily mean she was allied with the Bumblebrashers), so she readies a shot in case the woman does prove hostile. Aronida freezes at the suggestion that this new visitor might be a Hellknight. Anyone looking at her might see a sudden look of panic on her face. She'd been legitimately freed years ago, and hadn't worked as a tiller anywhere nearby. There wasn't any reason for a Hellknight to come after after her. Nothing they could do to her, chained (haha) to the laws of the land as they were. "Let's just...go see what they want." Nearly the last thing she wants to do is go closer to a Hellknight, but the very last thing she wants to do is leave one wandering the countryside without any idea of where they are or what they're after. Besides, maybe Gellius is right, and this isn't a Hellknight after all. (She puts aside Gellius' admission that his father had wanted him to join the Hellknights for later consideration. He hadn't. It was fine.) She still starts gnawing on her lower lip in a nervous gesture as she double-checks the strings on her bow.

Aronida, (who had been slouching against a nearby tree), stands up straighter at the mention of a newcomer. "We have been gone longer than expected, so it wouldn't be unreasonable for the Council to want to make sure we're alive. However I would have expected them to send more than one person." She frowns, trying to piece together anything that makes sense. "Maybe they're another bandit? Or someone related to the Cinderclaws?"

Aronida's lips twitch at Revka's hygiene suggestions. "Don't know why they were digging, don't really care. Treasure, latrines...could be anything." She eyes the corpses littering the floor, then sighs. "Those would take us a long time to move, whether we were taking them to Big Bumble or outside. The area should be safe enough now for the Bumblebrashers to move back in if they wish, and perhaps they won't mind corpse-disposal duty. We should probably check in with them anyway; let them know what happened."
