I finished up his gear, let me know if I have too much. Belated comment on the trait being overpowered. Maybe it is (for a trait), but Monks need all the help they can get. If I were playing a barbarian or fighter my HP would be much higher, my AC would likely be 19, and I'd be doing +6 (2d6+9) damage. So really, it just makes me less suck. Thanks for being cool about it. Edit:Also, I'd eventually like to take Elemental Fist. What do I need to do to 'unlock' it? Or is that a secret for when the game starts. Hoping I get accepted that is :P
First I will lose the disguise, then.... After escaping the men, Ardeth rips off his beggar disguise and climbs up onto the rooftops. He draws his bow, and heads back to the alley. Keeping to the shadows on the roofs. Stealth (Agility, Assassin)3d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (6, 1, 4) + 3 + 2 = 16 He keeps an eye on the situation, ready to feather anyone who causes too much trouble.
Ardeth is gonna run like hell then hide. Agility check to clear bouncer 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 4) + 3 = 13 Stealth once I've run somewhere else 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1, 2) + 3 = 9 My thinking is, Xanos and Dorin aren't involved negatively yet. Temur is awol and Juma is either gonna let himself get arrested or get a death sentence put on all of us. If I run away, I avoid killing anyone, hopefully draw a couple of them off and we can always rescue/bribe/jailbreak Juma out of jail later. Especially if the cops are corrupt. Next time, we visit Saul in his bedroom in the middle of the night. Not somewhere public.
Ardeth runs up to the guards saying, "Help! Help! I was in the alley trying to score some good, and some guy came up and started hastling us. Then the dealer stabbed him real good and ran off! The big fella looked pretty hurt, he stumbled back farther into the alleys. You gotta help him!" Not sure what kind of check this is but... 2d6 ⇒ (2, 5) = 7
Well they haven't seen you three yet, and they don't know you're there. Xanos only mentioned me inside...and since I'm covered in blood now, it'll probably be difficult to convince them that I'm just some homeless guy. I plan on telling them that a guy named Mugsy was smoking with me and then that big guy came out and mugsy stabbed him and ran off. Don't think it'll work, but the only other way I can think of to prevent the guard from finding out is to kill all the witnesses. Distasteful, but -shrug- Also since we're in a city there might be too many witnesses for even us to kill.
Ardeth slashes out with his hidden daggers at the man as soon as he comes within reach. Attack (Agility, Melee) 2d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (5, 5) + 3 + 2 = 15
If the Samus goes down, Ardeth will motion Temur and Juma over to drag the body away and hide it. Then go back to his beggar routine as if nothing happened. If Samus doesn't go down, hopefully Temur's bow can finish him off before he screams.
Yeah, it seemed like such a bustling well guarded place. I didn't want to just walk in and possibly be recognized. So I was waiting for someone else to post something :P I like DH's first plan better. Wait till closing time and try to lure the barkeep out back somehow. I don't want to get into a fight with the entire bar, or tip off the cultists to our presence if any are there.
"Perhaps if we could find out where their members spend their downtime we could ambush a few and steal their raiment. Then attempt to infiltrate their sanctum, before killing their leaders." Ardeth says while packing his small clay pipe with some of the liberated lotus hash. "I don't honestly remember where I was when I got kidnapped. Anyone know where we can go looking for them?"
Good point about the fire. But I still think we can draw them out somehow. All I saw was some dudes in robes go inside and then later the demon come out. We don't know if it's one room, or a labyrinth down there. Perhaps we could trick them somehow, pose as allies. Or more powerful servants of Azoth who were sent by the demon lord to take over after this group failed to sacrifice us. P.H. Dungeon- Would the guards do anything if we told them what's going on? Maybe they could serve as a distraction.
Ardeth nearly unwounded enjoys their time at the temple much more than he thought he would. He sneaks off and smokes some Lotus occasionally, and then wanders the temple grounds, relaxing and enjoying the beauty. When the Mahaya gathers them together, he bows deeply from the waist (or whatever is the sign of respect in Zamora) and says, "Thank you mam. This will be a welcome respite from the horrors of the past few days."
"I saw the demon emerge from their sanctum. It seemed to be scenting something before taking flight. More than that I cannot say. As for sleeping in a temple, there are worse fates I suppose. Lets go." Says Ardeth. He shakes Juma gently awake and says "Come, our onyx giant. We are no longer welcome here. You can take your rest once we arrive at the Temple to Ishtar."
"I'm not sure how Cimmerians treat their dead. I would prefer not to interact with the guard, but I suppose I can," Ardeth says. "You all can keep resting, when I'm done we can go after the demon worshipers. Temur maybe you can keep a lookout here?" He goes outside to deal with the guard, using Xanos' story. He will show them the mirror if they ask, then take it to the temple of Ishtar. Afterward he will return to the inn to check on his companions.
