KainPen wrote: the vampire could have a second coffin and got away. That what I would do good chance for reoccurring villain especially since they think they destroyed the coffin. That would be cool, but they followed the vampire. The party had a summoner with a flying eidolon and a hunter with a flying companion. They were hoping to stake him at his coffin, but there was no coffin. The game was ended there for the night as the gaseous form floated confused, reason for the ending was due to time(it was late).
So in a recent campaign the players fought a Vampire (the one from the bestiary). Due to strange twist of fate the players managed to destroy the Vampire's coffin while it was out looking for them. Then the players fought the vampire and its guards and managed to bring the vampire to 0 hp. This brings us to an interesting question.
Since the coffin did not exist, the vampire could not reach the coffin in 2 hours. So it was utterly destroyed. The question is what happened to his equipment? Does the vampire materialize and then turn to dust? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
So far I have had 3 successful sessions, in which my player's characters have come close to death but prevailed. After reporting my sessions I have realized that a note appeared in one of the sessions saying that I got +2 GM ranking. What does that mean? Again thank you all for your answers and patience with a new Pathfinder Society GM/Event Coordinator.
Sweet! Thanks for the help. I think I will be hosting a few of the Free RPG day modules. Once they hit level 2 have them run "The Godsmouth Heresy". Ideally after "The Godsmouth Heresy" they should be level 3 and we can go back into Season 5 of the scenarios. Just to make sure "The Godsmouth Heresy" would give them 3xp, and 4pp, right?
Thank you all for the kind welcomes. Following the topic. I have more questions :D. I saw that there are sanctioned modules and some of them are free. I checked and saw that we have a reporting sheet for them also, but I am not sure on how much exp do they get for these modules. I saw that the adventure paths give around 3 exp per section of the adventure path so I am not sure if modules give 1 exp or more. Thanks
As a GM I like to view my players characters the first time they join my table just to get a feel of what the party consists of and what they are capable of doing. Its good to know if the party will be having lots of problems due to traps and the likes. Given that the question is directed as Pathfinder Societies, I feel that the build will hardly be game breaking due to the rules placed by the Societies. I try to get also a gauge on my players knowledge of the game, so that if I have a new player in my table I can encourage him to try more things and think outside of the box. If the players ask for help in character creation I am also willing to help. Now I guess when asking what kind of GM a person is, I would rather think of asking how that person runs the adventures. Do they use lots of descriptions and sound effects? Are they more practical and concise in their games? I feel that the best games are not the ones were your character is the strongest or best built but when you are able to immerse yourself into the game and each person has different tastes.
Hi all! As the topic states I am a new GM/Event Coordinator for pathfinder societies. I have GMed for a long time but never for societies or a living game. Recently I did an event running the first scenario for season 5. My players had a good time and the event was reported with out much trouble, but now I am left wondering what should their next adventure be. I was thinking that the natural choice was to select scenario 5.2, but it shows to be a tier 3 scenario and my players are just lvl 1. Since characters require 3 scenarios to level, due to the 1 exp per scenario, they have not reached level 3 and I am not sure which would be the next scenario to host. Any ideas?
