And watch out for the Thrallherd PrC.

That guys a killer...trust me my psion had some level in that before he ummm....was eaten....but before that anyone he encountered was either to afraid to fight him (with his 3 ogre body guards)or dropped before he had to 'cast a spell'. Oh the good ol' days...

As far as social interaction the dm could use the psion's psionic tatts to do something to npc's reaction....just an idea....and don't forget the djornes (something like that atleast) which function as scrolls/wands w/ 50 charged along w/ ion stones coupled with some big crystal that floats around a psions head w/ three little attachments to it (cant remember the name of them) but they increase pp's that can be held. Don't forget psionic crystals as well...when communication can happen between psion and crystal then thats just one more thing for the dm to worry about (although it is kind of like a familiar). The dm might want to limit the availability of gems for this very reason...

Oh well thats my advice but what do I know?

As one of the SJ fans who felt a bit slighted at the Polyhedron fiasco I must say this is a better treatment of the setting than it has gotten. As far as I can tell the Giff were very accurate in their portrayal and this was one of the races I was concerned about as this was the one race that kept me interested in the setting as a whole. While I play lupin and similar races mostly, I still wanted the option of having them around to meet and interact with. Heck the one story I am writing features a Giff paladin and the pic used is about how I pictured the character to look like in my own story. Insectare are nothing I paid much attention to. Scro are dead on. Excellant article and the new monsters are a bonus section of new toys to play with.
On the other hand, I'm glad to hear that SJ has its fans. See, I was a Dark Sun fan, back in the day, and kind of understand how you people must feel, to be left adrift in wildspace without a Spelljamming engine. Of course, I can't reach wildspace from Athas, so I'm simply stuck in one of the last jungles of the Tyr area, beset by savage halflings who only want me for my nutrients...

AHHHH things being talked about that were created before I was born!! man I started playin when i was in second grade and now im in 10th....my brain hurts with trying to learn all these old games that are now outta business....scary stuff man

could be heard

I just read an article about something called Video Game Live. Right now according to what I've read its going to be comming into Cleveland sometime in October. I guess its where these bands play music from some of the, in my opinion, best games ever made (Everquest 2, Mario, Zelda, Warcraft, Kingdom Hearts, God of War, Sonic, and...HALO). Also I guess theres a meet and greet (thats what there calling it)after or during not really sure which with the game designers, creators, and music writers. If anyone has gone to this thing or has heard more about it could you guys please let me know...by the way if ur interested ticket master is selling the tickets I think...

Thanks everyone for the advice on how to get something published.....I must admit I was a little bumbed....my friend and I had such high hopes that the people over at WoC would atleast look at something if we had it written up and sent it 2 them *hopes breaking, sad look on face*....if not then we atleast have a few things to send into paizo...maybe...BUT in necase thx again 4 all your help

Well, as off topic as this is to the whole 'improving class acts' thing. I am forced to ask (even though I can count of jeers comming soon)how would one go about gettin something published as a D&D book (by Wizards or something along those lines)???? Are there forms or something that has to be sent in then approved....ok im rambaling now....and secondly (occuring as an after thought) how does one get something published in dragon? (sorry about my deadly spelling)

Please don´t "improve" Class Acts. It´s the best part of a good magazine.

Glad to hear that! :)

I don't see foresee any drastic change in how we balance the different types of Class Acts articles. With each issue I try to include one or two articles that push the boundaries of what we can get through the approval process. It's like a little dance I perform every month. A fun dance, to be sure! :)

If you don't think I'm stretching the boundaries far enough (I like to think of Class Acts as the Unearthed Arcana-like section of the magazine) let me know what you would like to see. Although I've been running roughly one alternative class per issue, it sounds like y'all would like to see more "ways to break stereotype, or variants." (Quoting Dyvynarth there.) So let me know what you have in mind! :)

Are we going to see any other types of class acts (maybe warlock....PLEASE)????....btw I <3 class acts...don't take it out till a very long time....

You know I'd honestly I might take this post and commentary a bit more seriously than I am if it were posted to us without the use of the leet speech. But because of its style I'd have to say that Ed's, albeit verbose and lengthly, writing is top notch compared to this. Personally I don't see anything wrong with Ed's writing but I also find Shakespeare to be a fairly easy read.

Sorry about the l33t writing ^_^. Is this better?

By the way, I absolutely loved the articles that gave different benefits for specific holy symbols. Thanks to the author.

c i cant say i liked that article at all.....im gonna have 2 agree w/ whoever said that i owould love 2 c some class acts that break all regular thoughts on classes and perhaps even include warlock and other classes form complete warrior, adventurer,ARCANE, etc....and i would still like 2 c them appear in every issue....they make me laugh at the stupidity of them sometimes...^_^

Look im not claiming to know more than the next guy about ne city but 2 b honest in the newest dragon issue i cant say i like Ed's writing...i mean how much does a perosn need 2 knwo about a specific city...if you want my opinion (which im sure tons of u guys r alrdy sayin 'psh wats this dumb nuts know')the space in which it was written could have been much better used for something else that followed the whole water theme of the issue...in fact i would like to not c this type of thing in further issues....as i said above...how much do u need 2 knwo about sum city....isnt half the idea of the D&D game to imagine wat is there and not have every last detail dictated to u unless it's in an adventure describing a room....ok i just had 2 put my 2 cents in....

BACH.....man, i may only be a teenager still in highschool and fighting for every right i now have to read D&D books/mags at school but to be perfectly honest, even the most b$@!*y (excuse me if im not allowed to say that) teachers love the covers to the mags....they say that if my imaginiation works like that then it explains my crative writing....but in any case my point is cleavage is perfectly fine...even by my teachers and parents (who for the record love the mag and books for every aspect, pix, ideas, etc)....keep up the good work and dont let the cover artwork conform to popular contraversy....keep it in the spirit of D&D...whatever that may be in your own minds

im in desperate need of player or to join a group....PLEASE help me out....<_<

if u have any questions for me drop me an e-mail at One2shibby@aol.com...title the e-mail D&D or sumthin of the such....thx a ton

I've always been a fan of the Hero system. version 5 is in print and being supported. You role lots of dice in game but character creation is build it how you want it...no dice. Pretty good game if you have a deadacated DM. But that can be said of any game I guess.

Yub, Hero system is awesome! The ultimate in flexibility. I think DC Heroes is still around, too. I'm sure Hero's Unlimited is still supported ... at least I see the books in the stores still. And you can always go to GURPS Supers, if nothing else. But I'm with hewhorocks ... Hero system (specifically referred to as Champions) is really nice. Lots of new material out, as well, like campaign supplements, character creation, organization useage, etc.

BG

so the books will be under the name Champions or Hero System???? and if you dont mind me asking wwats GURPS Supers???

hey as of now i dont have a group to play with so if a group is lookin for a pc and/or dm plz let me know...or does anyone have a suggestion hwo i can find someone who has an interest in the game in my area.....thx

are there any players from the chagrin area in ohio that are looking for a group or looking for a player.....

I must admit that i am new to this whole message board thing but i am in desperate need of advice. my group was once at a max of about 3 1/2 people (one person i saw about once a month so they are a 1/2)(this is also including myself). now the one person has left and i was able to pick up someone new but the 1/2 of a person became mroe of a 1/4 of a person (if i lost ya sry)so now im at 2 1/4 people including myself. So as one can imagine a dm playing an arcane spell caster and a pc fighter dont work very well. despite all of my searchign i cant find ANYONE else who plays or has any desire to learn. does anyone have any suggestions on how i can find some players? also does anyone know if there is a way to make an online game work? hmmm well i guess thats it sry if i lost you above.
