Male Gran Soldier 1
As the others fan out to each take on their jobs, Ansic suddenly finds himself left alone with the droid and their new host. He will glance at HK and give a bit of an uncomfortable clearing of his throat before looking at the woman again. "So, Maya, can you tell us anymore about this situation we find ourselves in? You mentioned trying to get us some sort of way out of here. Can you give a bit more detail, so we know just what our escape plan may be?"
Male Gran Soldier 1
Ansic isn't so comfortable with droids anyway, it is hard to share that empathy he has with most beings with the robotic folk, but his mind seems to run much the same way that Marius' does. "HK, you indicated that you are capable of negotiation before violence is necessary, but are the negotiations you are skilled at conducted peacefully?" The Gran will then look to Ailith and nods his head, considering. "There is another possibility I suppose. Often times criminal elements will pay off law enforcement to leave them be. If that area of the station has been sealed off from normal traffic, but it has been so long that the reasons are clearly fake, then maybe the local agents have been paid off in some way to leave those areas alone? There are sadly many officials which are susceptible to bribery. I do agree with you, though, that moving to learn more about Switch will be to our benefit. Whether the only entrance is guarded by imperials or some criminal element we need to be aware of what is ahead of us. If you have skills at picking up this information, it would be greatly appreciated."
Male Gran Soldier 1
Ansic will bow his head slightly to Marius. "I apologize if my assumptions were offensive. I simply was guessing at your medical skill, rather then your professional calling. As for me, I was more a detective I suppose, than I was a sergeant. Some years ago trouble on one of the Gran home worlds that nearly led to civil war, trouble brought on by one of the other species who dwelt there. To protect against this, the government segregated much of our homeworlds allowing some areas to be Gran only while others were open to all species. My kind lives a very communal life and emphasizes strongly with those around them, it made it easy for other species to sway us when we were unwary. I served to patrol in one of these mixed areas and have adapted well to life among other species. I learned to call many my friend. It matters little now, though, as when we refused to bow to the empires demands my homeworld was left smoldering rubble."
Male Gran Soldier 1
Ansic will nod a bit as the plan seems to be formed, and then will look around at the others. "It seems that if we are going to set out on such a mission, we should probably have an idea of each other's backgrounds so we know where our skills lie. It seems that our friend here has the training of a doctor, and my people have heard much of the power of jedi. I personally have the most skill with my pistol, my kind are skilled shots anyway but I have trained hard to perfect the trade. In... My past life I served as a guard, so I have some practice working with squads and planning movements." There is a pained pause when he speaks about his time before the station.
Male Gran Soldier 1
Ansic will nod appreciatively while Marius moves to tend to the wounded party, before looking to the others. "While our more medically minded friend here tends to Gareth, is there anything anyone else needs? We should be at our best before we move forth." He'll glance at Maya for a moment. "Though if you have no reason to suspect your cargo will be moved soon, I would suggest we try and hold up here until tomorrow before trying to take the next step, just so the guard have time to suspect that we have fled the station and may not be in such full force."
Male Gran Soldier 1
Ansic will rest a hand on Kael's shoulder and the other on Corvus', knowing that they both must be feeling this ache. "The empire has taken much from all of us. They will find justice for what they have done, and those who are wronged will be the ones who will take that to them. Take heart in that, it will not do justice to your order or the others who have been lost to allow your spirit to be crushed beneath the boot of the troopers."
Male Gran Soldier 1
The gran will set up near the door where he can keep an ear out for the march of booted feet or knocking on doors that would indicate a search. Ansic nods to Gareth. "A pleasure to meet you, Gareth. As I said while we were on the move, I am Ansic. I was a guard on my homeworld, but... That is behind me. I have the imperials to thank for that. I suppose we just offered that thanks to several of them."
Male Gran Soldier 1
Not sure if we are shifting out of combat time at this point or not. With the last of the obvious hostiles down, Ansic will follow after the others, staying about 5 or 6 squares behind and keeping an eye our for any trailing enemies. As he goes, he'll call up ahead to the others. "I'd expect the Imps to be out in force for a while, anyone have a place we can lay low for a while til things start to calm down? Will give us a chance to talk too and figure out just what is going on." The Gran will pause and give the others a smile, already viewing them as his comrades even if their sole knowledge of each other is this brief skirmish. "Name is Ansic, by the way."
Male Gran Soldier 1
Seeing the lightsabers make Ansic's heart pound and he looks towards them, calling out. "Jedi! You'd best get out of here before more of the troopers come. I'll cover your retreat and be right behind you! Be on your guard!" Assuming that the man and the woman know more about him when they fled into the shop, he'll nod towards it, assuming that the Jedi will help protect them on their way. He'll take a shot at the storm trooper on the other side of the crates from him and then move up to A5 so he has some cover around the corner and can let the Jedi get past him. If the trooper is consider to have cover from me then I will Aim before shooting(racial trait to Aim as a single swift action). 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 Attack 3d8 + 1 ⇒ (3, 8, 8) + 1 = 20 Damage Edit: I always have such bad luck with dice rollers, and that first round gave me false confidence I think. Now I see how it really is.
Male Gran Soldier 1
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 Initiative Ansic wastes no time thinking things through for what is safest for him. All he sees is a woman in clear trouble, and agents of the empire obviously intent on causing her more harm. Whatever she may have done to them, it likely is good for the cause. He quickly draws his blaster and lets off a shot at the nearest stormtrooper. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 Attack
Male Gran Soldier 1
Just as a thought, since we haven't moved on quite yet. I am expecting trouble from those two, and I suspect from their actions that they are the ones I am going to be disliking more. I'd like to make a knowledge(tactics) check if I can to try and figure out a good positions where I can keep an eye on them and have some cover if things go bad. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 Knowledge(tactics)
Male Gran Soldier 1
Ansic loiters in the promenade, trying to relax some and having lunch, though even with all his time among other species he never has quite gotten used to their food. Its quite a fowl thing. Still his eyes, all three of them, are wide open and paying attention as he has been hoping to find some others who may share his goals and he has heard some tales that others who share his disdain for those in power pass through this station fairly regularly. What he does see is quite interesting, he takes the last bite of his food and focuses his attention on the two men, trying to figure out just what they are up to. Obviously it is some sort of trouble, but are these men guards on patrol that he can relate to, or some sort of well organized criminal element? Just in case his hand somewhat idly comes to rest on his blaster at his hip, staying casual in his posture but just being on alert.

Ailith, I believe what you would want to do is take the skill training feat. That will put it on your class list, and so you will get the +5 bonus. It basically will give you the same modifier that skill focus would give, but you could take skill focus at a later time if you wished.

My character was a member of the security force on a world that got bombed out by the empire. Having taken the loss of so many close to him particularly hard due to the way that his species form attachments to their friends, he has set off to do what he can to put a stop to the empire's evil. On his home world he spent a lot of time with varied alien races, many were less then savory, and he has picked up some skills from them as well as a tolerance for a wide variety of species. His real skill though comes with his pistol, most Gran have some skill with them, but he seems particularly talented. However he actually found his way to the station, Ansic would have spent his time here looking for anyone who seemed friendly because of his social nature, with an ear to the ground for any anti-empire sentiment. Right now I'm a soldier going towards gunslinger, though I suspect I'll be adding some scoundrel in there somewhere.
Male Gran Soldier 1
I'm sure that any of us being in the line of fire would appreciate a medic of a sort in the party, though if fighting is going to be fairly heavy it would probably be good to at least be a combat medic. Any ideas on the race of general background you guys are thinking about? And DM, should we be coming up with ways we may already know each other, or does the intro put us together?
Male Gran Soldier 1
Ah! I had miscounted on my credits originally and realized when I was trying to fact check my character that I should have had some more money, so the grenades were last minute after I had done all my other gear and my brain wasn't thinking about availability anymore. I'll drop the frag grenade and use the cash from that for the licenses on the other two. Should still have a little extra left over too.
Male Gran Soldier 1
This is what I am thinking my character is going to be looking like(this is Tarlane). I haven't built a character for Saga for a while, so let me know if I overlooked anything, but I think he's pretty sound. I'll get the character sheet cleaned up so its more readable format wise today, and I'm going to flesh out the background a little more, I just wanted to put up something somewhat generic so you could see where I was coming from. I think my character is going to be primarily soldier with a bit of scoundrel in him headed towards gunslinger. |
