Female Half Rusalka (Samsaran) Winter Witch | Menhir Savant Druid 1
![]() "I'm afraid this trip only gave me more questions. From what I gathered from our gracious host here there was a man claiming to be my father yet the way he describes him does not fit, not in the slightest. I'm not sure what is going on, but he chased the man off to the south. That was weeks ago though." She let out a heavy sigh, "I think we should figure out the bandit case and keep our eyes open. Maybe, before anything else happens with them, they could answer some questions. If they have been in this area for some time they might know something." ![]()

![]() Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 Like Elanna Annik didn't spend the night in Bokken's abode but instead laid down on the grass outside in order to gaze at the sky. She had a lot of thinking to do. The man Bokken described just didn't sound like her father. Sure, he had an accent but it was a Brevoyan one and it wasn't strange. The man's general behaviour just didn't line up. The next morning the thoughts still spun through her mind when she saw several familiar shapes show up on the horizon. [b]"It looks like some of the others from the outpost are coming to pick us up." I do have a question though: Any idea when I can get to grabbing animal companion? If needed I'll have her prepare Call Animal for it today. ![]()

![]() Attacked him? That did not sound like her father. "They attacked you you say? Can you perhaps remember more of the situation master Bokken? Could you delight us by telling what exactly happened? Was there anything out of the ordinary about those men?" She had to know what was going on, as exact as she could. The more information she got the easier it would be to track him. "Do you know how long ago it was exactly Master Bokken?" If the attack coincided with her father's vanishing she'd at least be closer to finding out what precisely had happened to him. ![]()

![]() Annik was rather surprised by Bokken's remark. Sure, she was pale, even white, but she was by no means a ghostly appearance. "No Sir Bokken, I am no ghost. Through my veins runs the blood of the fey." Seeing what the man consorted with that should put him at ease, if anything, "I am searching for a man, my father. He might have passed through here recently. His name is Theodric Birger." She seemingly ignored the gremlin, figuring her companion could handle it if needed. ![]()

![]() Know - Nature: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 "I hadn't intended to threaten the man, I need his help after all." Upon seeing the critter she makes a simple gesture with her hand and mumbles some words. Using Spirit Sense ability to see if there are more fey, or other critters, around As they slowly approach Annik stays behind Oleg as the man requested, "Greetings master Bokken, my name is Annik Birger. I come in the hope that you could help me with a problem I have." ![]()

![]() Hey guys. I'm still here as well, just went into hibernation as there has been no action for Annik for a long time :) I already talked about this with Black Fang and Annik will change a bit. For starters her Witch archetype will change to Winter Witch, making her more of a caster.
The animal companion would be something she finds in the wilds in the Stolen Lands. I personally was thinking Megaloceros (aka Giant Elk), if that's ok. I'd also like it to use the Totem Guide archetype, if that's ok. ![]()

![]() Didn't respond because I had the idea it was just the bandit group talking strategy but I get the idea you were waiting on me. Annik is up before Oleg comes to wake her. When he comes to wake her she actually already packed all she needs for the journey and is almost ready to go, just wanting a bite to eat. ![]()

![]() Annik nods. "I hope you at least get information about their location out of them before you smash them to a pulp." She grins and turns to Oleg. "Thank you. I hope this Bokken knows as much as you think." With that she gets to her dinner and feeds her scraps to Rapu. She waits till all are done eating before she takes her leave and goes to bed. ![]()

![]() Connel Lebeda wrote: a cabin deep in the woods.......the group splits up, with the women going off by themselves......I think Ive see this movie! Did that movie include a woman who strangles things with her hair? I know Annik hasn't showed it off yet but should the need arise the people around her are in for a shock. ![]()

![]() Annik sighs. She wanted to find her father, but helping these people is what would make him proud. "Well, we can't leave before tomorrow anyway. If they show up tomorrow we can take em out, tie em up and interrogate them about their camp and the such. I just hope these bandits are on time." She offered a wry smile. ![]()

![]() "Bandits or other things that waylay traders is what sounds like the likeliest options to me. The weather might deter some as well." Annik sat quietly with Rapu on her shoulder. The crab seemed to whisper something to her but she smiled and shook her head. ![]()
Female Half Rusalka (Samsaran) Winter Witch | Menhir Savant Druid 1
![]() During the storm Rapu is almost constantly running back and forth between the fire and some open space, keeping himself both from overheating and from cooling down too much. "He normally survived these things below the surface of a lake or deep pool, the water their stays quite nice once the surface has frozen." Unique mumbles just load enough for those close to hear to hear it. Once the storm has stopped Annik moves outside, her mind working to keep a tiny flame in her hands burning. After surveying the damage she turns to Svetlana. "If you need to get some heat for cooking or anything I can help. Unless you mind me using a little magic." Figured since I could use Spark at will that if I concentrate I get a tiny flame good for nothing but keeping merself a bit warmer. ![]()

![]() Annik roles her eyes and turns gets over to Svetlana, "Do you still have any cold weather supplies for sale? The breeze is giving me shivers and I'm afraid Rapu destroyed my old outfit." The blue crab sits on her shoulder, somehow looking even more blue than he normally does. ![]()

![]() Survival 1d20 ⇒ 19
Annik spent the morning studying, dividing her time between her book and conversation with Rapu. When she walked outside she shivered and almost reflexively extended her hair to wrap around her self, deciding against it at the last moment. She walked up to Oleg, "Say, do you happen to have any clothes suitable for the cold for sale? This breeze is sending shivers down my spine." ![]()

![]() Annik stood back, quiet. She was bad at these kinds of situations and she knew it, that's why Birgit always handled these sorts of situations. ![]() While waiting for Oleg to return Annik paced back and forth. So far this trip hadn't yielded anything but vague hint after vague hint. There would need to be a real lead sometime soon or all hope was lost and all of this would have been for nothing. ![]()

![]() Annik nods as Svetlana speaks, clearly disappointed, and almost eagerly accepts the hug.She stands back and wipes away a lone tear while Baelin talks to Svetlana. "I'd very much appreciate that. My sister is working on a back-up plan, but that could take many months and by that time it probably is too late." The blue crab appears from her pack and tries to hug Annik's arm to comfort her though it looks rather odd. ![]()

![]() About four to five months since we last heard from him. He was with a party sent to help colonize these lands." Annik was counting on her fingers. "I think it must be five months since he would have passed here, maybe five and a half." ![]()

![]() Annik curtsies to Oleg and Svetlana as she passes them. When all her companions are inside the palisade she turns to them, eyes flitting back and forth between them and when she speaks there is a hint of desperation in her voice, "I'm here for more than that. I'm looking for my father, Theodric Birger. He was part of a previous group sent here. Big guy, dark hair, good with one of these," She unsheathes her own blade just far enough to make clear the means a blademaster's blade, "He was somewhere out here when all contact was lost." ![]()

![]() "I'm sure he'll be more than welcoming. We're here to make this area safer and that by default will make his job easier. I just hope he met my father and has a clue where he went." Annik toyed the with hilt of her blade when she mentioned her father. ![]()

![]() Annik ignores the silent woman's attempts at goading her into sparring. It was an utter waste of time, time better spent studying. ![]() "I had figured as much. Thanks Xenos." Annik came walking towards the group while leading her horse. "I'll get to work with that scroll next time we make camp." She climbed on her horse while awaiting the others. A guy name "Stranger", why didn't that strike me as odd before. ![]()

Female Half Rusalka (Samsaran) Winter Witch | Menhir Savant Druid 1
![]() Satisfied with what she learned Annik shoves the ring around one of her fingers and puts the scroll away. Later she'd copy it to her spellbook. She gets ready to leave, packing all her belongings, and gets down to where the horses are stabled. Hopefully they were there before any would be thieves. ![]()

![]() Annik tucks the items she finds into her belt pouch, not intending to do anything with either of them until she knows what they do. Giving the scroll a cursory glance she decides to fret over them in the morning. As she sleeps she forsakes blankets and instead wraps herself in her own extended hair. ![]() "Yes, leave the scumbag for now. We'll leave in the morrow, I don't want that idiot to make off with our horses and supplies." Annik didn't seem to care if the soldiers heard her, though she didn't try to be heard either. Even if the man had no decency some of his men probably did. They paid for music after all. ![]()
Female Half Rusalka (Samsaran) Winter Witch | Menhir Savant Druid 1
![]() Annik doesn't like him, not at all. Killing someone weaker than you just to prove you're cool? She'd like to snap his neck. She isn't stupid though and challenging or attacking a guy in front of his army isn't a smart move. She'll wait and bide her time. What she would like to do though is make sure the group leaves the inn before that guy does, prepare a few instances of Expeditious excavation and use it do dig a 15 ft deep hole in front of the inn's door. ![]()
Female Half Rusalka (Samsaran) Winter Witch | Menhir Savant Druid 1
![]() Perception 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 Annik keeps quiet, as she has done before. Her father taught her not to react to upstart nobles, especially those who introduced themselves as such. The news of him trying to commit genocide was something else though, "You say he tried to wipe out a someone. Who? We might just have found ourselves an ally if we ever need to face off against this man." ![]()
Female Half Rusalka (Samsaran) Winter Witch | Menhir Savant Druid 1
![]() Surprised by the old man's offer she nods and accept his coin, "Thank you. One can't run on an empty stomach, and riding a horse isn't much better." Once she puts the money away she gets Akoi from the stables, waiting to mount till all are ready to depart. The extra coin on her end is for the fish as that was a personal purchase and she figured that would cover it ![]()
Female Half Rusalka (Samsaran) Winter Witch | Menhir Savant Druid 1
![]() Annik takes her time going through all of the crates, figuring out what's in them precisely. After that she pulls out a small coinpurse from her belt pouch and counts out 13 crowns. She goes outside, nodding at Helgash on the way, and asks for the others to help her carry. Once everything is loaded on their cart, with the exception of the dried fish, she stows that away in her own saddlebags. Then she walks up to Connel, Theodronis and Korren, "That'll be 3 crowns each. If you don't have them at hand we'll arrange it later." I so wanted to haggle but that would only keep us from going on :S ![]()

![]() With all the extra feats we get I might even branch out into style feats. Feral Combat Training (Hair) here I come! Kirin Style is quite nuts with my Int modifier. Adding 3x Int bonus on hair attacks should compensate the small damage die. ![]()

![]() Annik does some counting on her fingers, seemingly lost in thought for a moment, "We're seven and we won't have time nor chance for cooking once we're out of Restov. So let's say sausages for one day and the others to cover us for three days. Oh, and if you have some dried fish I'd be very grateful." The word "dried fish" alone is enough to make Rapu dance on the table where the others are sitting. ![]()
Female Half Rusalka (Samsaran) Winter Witch | Menhir Savant Druid 1
![]() "Akoi will carry me where I need to go and Rapu will ride along in my pack, so I'm covered." Annik eats quickly, feeding morsels of meat and bread to Rapu, after cooling them in the mug of water she carried from upstairs. Once she's done eating she walks over to the innkeeper, "Do you by chance have any bread, sausages, dried meat or pickled goods you'd be willing to sell? It would be a great boon to us on our journey." ![]()

![]() He's talking about Ustalav, not the Stolen Lands "I've got my horse and he eats grass, off which there should be plenty where we're going. I've brought some rations but I assume they'll have more at the trading post." The thought of having to live of rations was horrible, normally Birgitte would hunt for something. "I bow to no god nor do I care more for one than any other. As for my skills, I'm no slouch with my blade and I dabble in things arcane." Not sharing too much, branding someone a witch was all too easy for those holy types. ![]()

![]() Annik would fit as Magister or Treasurer. Assuming we need NPC's filling some roles and if our GM has Annik's adopted sister show up at some point (she's at the moment gathering forces for a greater search of the stolen lands) she would be a great fit for Warden (assuming no player wants that role). ![]()

![]() Annik nods at Helgash, "All I know is that he was in the group they sent out before us. They failed miserably, disappeared from the radar. ![]() Just to get it out of the way, I'm mechanically a Samsaran but fluff wise I'm half a Rusalka from mother's side and some unknown addition from father's side. The father she's looking for is her adoptive father The moment Helgash steps closer a bright blue crab crawls out of Annik's pack and onto her shoulder making very angry noises and waving it's claws at Helgash. Annik pets the crab but it doesn't quiet down, "It's ok dear, the big guy just wants to convince me he's right and considers threat of force the best way to do so." The crab quiets down and starts shuffling back to the pack, making some softer noises, "I agree, he does lack manners, but I haven't been too polite either." She once more turns towards Helgash and smiles, "You are right, I do not know you. Have your talk but make it quick." ![]()

![]() "Unlike you I'm not here for glory or riches, I'm here in order to find my father. He's out there, no one has heard of for over a month. No one does anything other than obstruct the attempts of my sister and me to find him and this here finally offers me a chance to find him. So you see, time is a commodity I do NOT have." Her voice was angered but the only thing in her face that betrayed it was a slight squinting of the eyes. "All I want now is to find him, talking can be done after." ![]()

![]() Annik snorts again at the Lord's comment, "I can't say I really care who or what he is at the moment. I simply want to get going and his questions are holding us up." Sense Motive 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 Annik isn't quite natural looking either. Both her hair and eyes are purest white and her eyes lack pupils. Her skin is a pale blue that might be mistaken for white if one doesn't pay attention. She dresses in simply gown but carries a swordlord's blade on her belt. ![]()

![]() Annik had already unfurled and signed her scroll by the time the Lord Mayor finished talking. Haste was in order and she'd prefer to leave yesterday. When the tainted one spoke she snorted and rolled her eyes. Idiotic, dimwitted hellspawn. At least, I assume your looks betray you.
