Angelica, who has been oddly quiet for a while, chimes in. "If we can spare it, I could make use of some armor and a shield." I also have the unholy symbol of Asmodeus. Also, spinningdice, I healed Grumblejack earlier, but it was never acknowledged. I just want to make sure it wasn't missed in the jumble.

Sorry I haven't been posting! My work load has been really heavy right before the holidays! While the plans are being made to prepare the ambush, Angelica moves to Grumblejack. Noticing that the ogre is injured, she casts Cure Light Wounds. Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 "Does that feel better?" she asked.

Angelica holds out the veil. "The remaining patches seem to be a lantern, a rope, a sack, a window, a potion of some sort, and a pile of coins." "I also have a small glamour at my disposal. I can take the guise of one of these guards and scout the rest of Branderscar, however I cannot make myself sound like him. It would be risky."

Angelica picks up a club and a set of prison keys, no longer feeling completely vulnerable. She gestured towards the cell where the ogre was kept. "It will be difficult to sneak out with Grumblejack and I would be loathe to leave behind a potentially useful ally. Also, we have some armor now. Jericho? Elijah? I think you two would be best suited for some protection."

Angelica springs to action as soon as her companions do. She stays behind Elijah, using the warrior to shield her from the guard. Calling mentally on the divine order of Asmodeus, she places her hand on his back and focuses her iron will to aid him. I used my Domain Power "Touch of Law". It allows Elijah to treat all attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws for 1 round as if the natural d20 roll resulted in an 11. I'm not sure if this will help, but I'm not sure what else to do. XD

"We can certainly get you out, as long as you're willing to play your part. We can get them inside of this cell and then corner them. When we spring our trap, be sure to smash the one with the signal horn." The cleric smiled at the ogre. "Can you do that for me, Grumblejack?"

"If we require an illusion, I may be of some use. The Dark Prince has given me the ability to change my appearance (And by that, I mean Disguise Self). That could prove useful."[/b] Angelica yanked on her tunic to reveal ample cleavage. "And you can leave the seduction to me." She moved over to where the ogre was shackled. "Hello, friend. Do you speak the Common tongue?"

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 Angelica didn't trust the bard's reasoning for being in Branderscar, but she wasn't about to question him. Right now, they needed to work together if they were going to escape. "I'm with Rei. We should act like we're shackled until the trap is sprung. Whatever happens, we must make sure the man with the horn is silenced." Angelica whispered. She peeled the Asmodean holy symbol patch off and raised up the newly formed pentagram up and clutched it tight before sliding it down her tunic.

Angelica flashed another smile at the handsome bard. "Aren't you the charmer? What did they lock you up for again, lady-killer? My name is Angelica Rothfel and if we make it out of here, I'd love to make your acquaintance later." She finished her comment with a sly wink. "As for weapons," she continued, "How will these do?" She pulled the two patches representing daggers off and the pieces of fabric instantly became razor-sharp knives. "Based off of our limited discussions, I think these would be best used in the hands of Elijah and Rei." She offered the weapons to the others.

Angelica carefully peeled the patch that depicted a set oh thieves tools. She smiled as the weightless fabric turned into a set of hard metal instruments that clinked softly in her hands. "Have any of you had some experience picking locks?"

Angelica's mind raced while the guards escorted her back to the cell. She clutched the veil the mysterious woman gave her in one fist. Luckily, the fabric was sheer enough that she could conceal it there without raising suspicion. When the shackles were locked and she was sure that the guards were beyond earshot, she grinned widely. "We might have a way out of this place." She held the veil up to the light to try and get a better look.

Angelica allowed a small smile to cross her face. "Asmodeus has taken much from me, yes. In exchange he granted me purpose. He brings a necessary truth to Talingarde; one that the Church of Mitra is afraid to acknowledge. Water runs downhill, fire burns, and the strong make slaves of the weak. It is their nature. To question that is to challenge the balance of all things. Talingarde, and the church, must be made to see that..." She shrugged as much as her chain would allow her, which was not much. "Although here I am, shackled in a cell to await my doom. Perhaps this is a sign that I am not worthy of his majesty."

Angelica turned to where Jericho's voice was coming out of the dark. "Do not offer the Dark Prince what you are not willing to part with. He will take what you give and more and the unwary will be left with nothing except obligation."

Hail, Dark Prince. Deliver me from compassion that I might know strength. Hail, God-Fiend. Deliver me from hope that I might learn obedience. Hail, Asmodeus. Deliver me from chaos that I might serve you in eternity. Angelica finished her prayer in the darkness with her fellow criminals. She tried to isolate herself from their chatter, to let her faith protect her from the fear of her impending punishment: a life of hard labor in the salt mines of Talingarde... But prayers so far hadn't helped her. Perhaps her god was trying to tell her something. Maybe she should talk to these other outcasts. She had heard one was even a devotee of Asmodeus. They might be her ultimate salvation. When the woman called Rei recounted her tale, Angelica let out a whistle. "You tried to assassinate the King? Ambitious."
Angelica looked around where she was sitting with exaggerated motions, even pausing to look down the pitiful rough-spun tunic that she had been given for a prisoner's uniform. Finding nothing, she shrugged as much as she could with her arms shackled above her head. Unfortunately, I seem to be fresh out of anything useful. Although if you're going to the salt mines, I'll see you there.
Angelica had held her tongue around her fellow criminals for a while, a rare feat for the young cleric. It never hurt to hold her cards close to her chest in a time of crisis though. If she had any cards left. Chained to a wall in the most infamous prison in all of Talingarde, with little to look forward to beyond a life of hard labor in a salt mine. Angelica couldn't do that; she was far too pretty. Now that the others were talking about escape, perhaps she should break the ice. I think we'd all like to be free from these things, Angelica replied. I don't know about you all, but I could really use a shoulder rub. |
