Hi everyone,

Real-life has once again cast its Interposing Hand spell and I'm afraid that I will have to bow out of this game.

Feel free to use the recruitment thread to find a replacement.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause, and good luck with the campaign!

Regards,
Andrezzi/PDK

Andrezzi quickly repels down to grab the youngster!

@GM: you may roll any saves or secret rolls such as Appraise, Bluff, Perception, Sense Motive, and Stealth in the future. I don't mind at all.

Reflex save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

”Andrezzi” | Male LG Human Slayer 1 | HP 10/13 | AC 16, T 12, FF 14 | CMD 17 | F +4 R +4 W +3; +2 vs. charm/compulsion | Init +2 | Perc +5 | Speed 30ft | Active Conditions: prone

"Sure thing. Hang on friend," says Andrezzi, hoisting the lad effortlessly in a practiced fire brigade carry. "Now with your left hand, just grab a hold of your left pant leg, and relax. I'll do the rest."

Andrezzi then proceeds to climb back the hill, both hands on the rope.

Taking 10 for 16; if that's not enough let me know and he'll roll

”Andrezzi” | Male LG Human Slayer 1 | HP 10/13 | AC 16, T 12, FF 14 | CMD 17 | F +4 R +4 W +3; +2 vs. charm/compulsion | Init +2 | Perc +5 | Speed 30ft | Active Conditions: prone

A vertical wall is DC 20, but a vertical wall and rope combo is DC 5 (i.e. -15 to the DC). A slope too steep to walk up is DC 0... if the slope is slippery due to the mud, add 5 to the DC for DC 5. But if you add a rope to the descent, it's probably a total of DC -10 and moot... (unless the module has something different). Regardless Andrezzi with take 10 for a Climb check of 16.

Self retcon: if Andrezzi doesn't make the Perception, he uses his own rope to make a path for the others. A self-imposed cost for not reading the GM's post properly! ;) Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Andrezzi inspects his own hemp rope, uncoiling it from his backpack. Satisfied he wasn't sold a defective cable, he attaches it to a nearby tree and begins his descent. Use same climb check of 16, as above

Andrezzi gives the rope a solid tug, then begins to repel down the muddy hill.

Climb, Take 10: 10 + 6 = 16

Along the way, he pulls the rope out of the mud where it's buried, so as to make everyone else's job more easy.

Since things seem to have slowed down for many in this game, I think a dungeon would inject some adrenaline a little here. We are somewhat limited by what we can do at this time as I am guessing the adventure is not a full sandbox with fully detailed NPCs, boxed texts, etc.?

Andrezzi gasps at the unusual energy flowing through him. Never before had he sensed such hope in concentrated form. Unwittingly, a smile forms across his weathered face, his left foot shifting forward as he begins to prepare a counterattack.

Andrezzi tries to hold the orcs at bay with his large sword while carefully studying the movements of the orc wearing the red bandana. At an opportune moment he attempts a tentative strike, but he does not let his guard down as he feels the ample blood running underneath his shirt! Looking quickly back at his companions, he shakes his head, indicating to them he will not hold long, "Run! take the kids to safety. I will delay them with what's left of me!"

@Therin: I've gathered a few bard songs from the 'Dagger of Trust' Pathfinder Tales novel, which is a gem and a must read, IMO. I've used some of these excerpts with another bard character in the past; it can be useful to spice up a combat or in situations like this one here! :)

Survival to id the animal that lost its foot, Take 10: 10 + 5 = 15

Andrezzi skinned the rabbit well outside the camp, mindful of the children. He gathered a few fragrant herbs and mixed the slabs of meat with them in a waxed burlap pouch, along with some ground pepper and salt borrowed from his trail rations. He would have kept a rabbit's foot for each of the children if he had access to some basic taxidermy equipment, but alas, not here in the wide open.

Returning to the camp with one last mournful thought for the animal he had injured with his snare, he located a straight, thumb-thick branch from a nearby sapling and sharpened it on one end, stripping all the bark along its length. He skewered the fragrant, marinated chunks of meat on the three-foot stick and, nodding to all those assembled, sat by the fire and held it over the flames.

"There should be enough for three of us here, or for the Clios and their two daughters, if they all care for some..." says Andrezzi, his words trailing into an unspoken question, as he tries to force a smile at the girls.

Andrezzi checks his snares one by one, removing the steel wires at each location so as to use them again somewhere else another day. He keeps his ears peeled towards the direction of the camp, just in case, stopping frequently to stop his breathing in order to better listen.

Survival, Take 10: 10 + 5 = 15
Perception, Take 10: 10 + 5 = 15

Andrezzi listens to the complaints of the Captain and guests in silence, sharpening his large hand and half sword while keeping his back to the fire so that his cloak dries out on full. It did not matter much to him that the journey included dampness, morning dew and cold nights: if there was even a shred of truth to the rumor that his son had been taken to the new lands they were headed into, these minor inconveniences were a cheap price of admission for the opportunity to investigate.

After his sword care was complete, the large man rose, sheathed his sword, nodded to everyone, strung his bow and headed into the forest to check on a few rabbit snares he had installed the previous night.

@GM: we are starting at level 1 yes? which modules are we doing again?

PS: House on Hooked Street was perhaps my favorite module to run (granted, I have mostly ran APs in the past, but House on Hooked Street felt like a mini-AP, with really cool story and situations...)

Hello everyone!

Updating Andrezzi now with Iron Will for the bonus 1st level feat (instead of race point option). I'm also bringing him up to a 25 pt. build.

I have no problem being the dual front-liner / trapfinder.

NOTE: my only foreseen problem as front-liner is a relatively low AC. He will no doubt invest in a mithral breastplate at some point but that will never replace a fullplate. Be aware of this and try to have his back with some occasional healing so that he stays upright! :)

NOTE2: character update complete.

Hi NotEspi, PDK here.

I'll be playing Andrezzi Alazzario, a Slayer 1. I just noticed you're allowing 25 pt. buy so I'll have to bump him up... probably his Wis and Cha and perhaps a bit more of Dex.

I'm not sure if I'll pick +2 to a stat, a race point or an extra feat: I'll fine tune this as the others make their own character come alive! :)

Perhaps it would be a good time to take a slight dip into a Teamwork Feat, since the feet is free anyway, and they can really make a party awesome with the right selection!

Regards,
PDK/Andrezzi

I've also seen certain players ditch AC altogether (or saves). We're talking front-liners with 9 AC here.

Then they whine when the cleric stops healing them (after telling the cleric, earlier, to stop telling them how to play their PCs)

LOL you reap what you sow! :)

Applying with this Lawful Good slayer right here. Background story under the alias! Will pick a campaign trait for him shortly and fix a few things.

Strange Aeons fits this guy has he had experienced tremendous loss in his personal life... maybe he even agreed to undergo memory wipe! :)

3/5

Story time.

Once, a long time ago, and in an organized play campaign that shall remain nameless, was a jaded table where no one roleplayed. After about an hour of trying to get the players to pay attention and to stop talking while he was describing a room, the GM silently got up, grabbed his coffee, and said, "I'll be back in a few minutes.".

Three hours later, the GM returned to the deserted table, dropped a pile of signed chronicle sheets, and packed his stuff.

Legend has it that he got a standing ovation.

Slavery is not merely being forced to do something you don't want to do. If it were, then parents would be enslaving their children for making them clean their room.
Parenting is literally a form of slavery!

Parenting is required by law. Slavery is not required, just optional for those who wish to own slaves in areas where it is not illegal. It would be interesting to find out if there was ever a jurisdiction that forced citizens to own slaves... or children! (I know the latter to be true: up to the mid 50's families were strongly encouraged to keep adding numbers to their families, even after the poor woman had already given birth to 14 kids... not sure if it was law, but it was a strong component of North American colonization...)

Her argument that it is evil to conscript to defend against a nation that has been brainwashed to kill other nations 'because they are not of pure blood' is utter nonsense. Google Third Reich for additional details.

In game terms, conscription is the ultimate lawful act... a lawful neutral's secret hope at night before he/she goes to bed. By conscription all are equal and part of a military structure; a true meritocracy from a lawful neutral's perspective (and by chaotic neutral's standards, a flawed view as it's really an autocracy in their view, albeit one with a really good senior management selection process...) ;)

DM Default: is this for Pathfinder Society? I don't see that chronicle sheets for this AP online.

Andrezzi updated to level 2 - wasn't sure how much gold we could use at level 2 (if we just get 1st level starting gold I'll take out the bow and mw thieve's tools)

awesome! let me know if Andrezzi should get an upgrade! ;)
