"Sure thing. Hang on friend," says Andrezzi, hoisting the lad effortlessly in a practiced fire brigade carry. "Now with your left hand, just grab a hold of your left pant leg, and relax. I'll do the rest." Andrezzi then proceeds to climb back the hill, both hands on the rope. Taking 10 for 16; if that's not enough let me know and he'll roll

A vertical wall is DC 20, but a vertical wall and rope combo is DC 5 (i.e. -15 to the DC). A slope too steep to walk up is DC 0... if the slope is slippery due to the mud, add 5 to the DC for DC 5. But if you add a rope to the descent, it's probably a total of DC -10 and moot... (unless the module has something different). Regardless Andrezzi with take 10 for a Climb check of 16.

@Therin: I've gathered a few bard songs from the 'Dagger of Trust' Pathfinder Tales novel, which is a gem and a must read, IMO. I've used some of these excerpts with another bard character in the past; it can be useful to spice up a combat or in situations like this one here! :) Survival to id the animal that lost its foot, Take 10: 10 + 5 = 15 Andrezzi skinned the rabbit well outside the camp, mindful of the children. He gathered a few fragrant herbs and mixed the slabs of meat with them in a waxed burlap pouch, along with some ground pepper and salt borrowed from his trail rations. He would have kept a rabbit's foot for each of the children if he had access to some basic taxidermy equipment, but alas, not here in the wide open. Returning to the camp with one last mournful thought for the animal he had injured with his snare, he located a straight, thumb-thick branch from a nearby sapling and sharpened it on one end, stripping all the bark along its length. He skewered the fragrant, marinated chunks of meat on the three-foot stick and, nodding to all those assembled, sat by the fire and held it over the flames. "There should be enough for three of us here, or for the Clios and their two daughters, if they all care for some..." says Andrezzi, his words trailing into an unspoken question, as he tries to force a smile at the girls.

Andrezzi listens to the complaints of the Captain and guests in silence, sharpening his large hand and half sword while keeping his back to the fire so that his cloak dries out on full. It did not matter much to him that the journey included dampness, morning dew and cold nights: if there was even a shred of truth to the rumor that his son had been taken to the new lands they were headed into, these minor inconveniences were a cheap price of admission for the opportunity to investigate. After his sword care was complete, the large man rose, sheathed his sword, nodded to everyone, strung his bow and headed into the forest to check on a few rabbit snares he had installed the previous night.

Hello everyone! Updating Andrezzi now with Iron Will for the bonus 1st level feat (instead of race point option). I'm also bringing him up to a 25 pt. build. I have no problem being the dual front-liner / trapfinder. NOTE: my only foreseen problem as front-liner is a relatively low AC. He will no doubt invest in a mithral breastplate at some point but that will never replace a fullplate. Be aware of this and try to have his back with some occasional healing so that he stays upright! :) NOTE2: character update complete.
Hi NotEspi, PDK here. I'll be playing Andrezzi Alazzario, a Slayer 1. I just noticed you're allowing 25 pt. buy so I'll have to bump him up... probably his Wis and Cha and perhaps a bit more of Dex. I'm not sure if I'll pick +2 to a stat, a race point or an extra feat: I'll fine tune this as the others make their own character come alive! :) Perhaps it would be a good time to take a slight dip into a Teamwork Feat, since the feet is free anyway, and they can really make a party awesome with the right selection! Regards,
Story time. Once, a long time ago, and in an organized play campaign that shall remain nameless, was a jaded table where no one roleplayed. After about an hour of trying to get the players to pay attention and to stop talking while he was describing a room, the GM silently got up, grabbed his coffee, and said, "I'll be back in a few minutes.". Three hours later, the GM returned to the deserted table, dropped a pile of signed chronicle sheets, and packed his stuff. Legend has it that he got a standing ovation.

It would be interesting to find out if there was ever a jurisdiction that forced citizens to own slaves... or children! (I know the latter to be true: up to the mid 50's families were strongly encouraged to keep adding numbers to their families, even after the poor woman had already given birth to 14 kids... not sure if it was law, but it was a strong component of North American colonization...)
Her argument that it is evil to conscript to defend against a nation that has been brainwashed to kill other nations 'because they are not of pure blood' is utter nonsense. Google Third Reich for additional details. In game terms, conscription is the ultimate lawful act... a lawful neutral's secret hope at night before he/she goes to bed. By conscription all are equal and part of a military structure; a true meritocracy from a lawful neutral's perspective (and by chaotic neutral's standards, a flawed view as it's really an autocracy in their view, albeit one with a really good senior management selection process...) ;)
