Will I be notified by email when there is a reply on this thread, or should I post my email address here in case there are further questions about Carnage?
Thanks,
Christy

Will there be PFS games at the Carnage on the Mountain Convention in Vermont? or is it too early? thanks

Hello,

Yes, we will have two to four PFS games in each slot during Carnage this year. Art has been fantastic!

To sign up to receive a printed program booklet (which will be mailed by the end of September), visit http://www.carnagecon.com/about/receive-the-convention-book/ and fill in your name and address.

We will post a pdf of the booklet on our site, www.carnagecon.com, a few days after it is mailed. It is a good idea to join our Facebook sites, http://www.facebook.com/groups/2406277427/ and/or http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=154805981230168, to be notified when the pdf is posted.

The hotel sleeping rooms are full, but we've negotiated special convention prices at some nearby (2-15 minutes away) B&Bs. Visit the lodging section of our site (http://www.carnagecon.com/lodging/) for additional information on housing.

If you have any additional questions, please let me know! I look forward to meeting those of you who attend!

Best,
Christy

Great news! The Pathfinder Society NY Regional Director will be joining us at Carnage, www.carnagecon.com, (Nov. 5-7 in Fairlee, VT) to offer Pathfinder Society games as well as Witch Hunter: Dark Providence and Fellowship of the White Star.

Additional PFS games are likely to be added soon, so check back at the Addendum page of our site for updates: http://www.carnagecon.com/field-marshal-reports/convention-book-addendum/.

Art’s games are listed below and a complete list of Carnage games is available in the Convention Book and Addendum page on our site. Thank you, Art, for bringing us some fantastic games!

R71 Pathfinder Society Scenario #6: Black Waters
The Pathfinder Society seeks the ancient ruby ring of the salamander and it falls to a team of Pathfinders to find it. Last seen in the Tri-Towers Yard, a once elite academy for the youth of Absalom, the ruby ring is now lost in the Drownyard, all that remains of Tri-Towers after it was destroyed a decade ago in the great quake. The Pathfinders must risk the strange black ichors and salty brine to find their prize—will they risk their very souls as well? Written by Tim and Eileen Connors. This product is a Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st to 5th level characters. (Tiers: 1–2, 4–5.) Pathfinder (Fri. 7p-11p)

R72 Pathfinder Society Scenario #11: The Third Riddle (OGL)
When Pathfinder Colm Safan entered the Nethys-linked heart of the fabled dungeon known as the Ravenous Sphinx, the Pathfinder Society expected to solve one of Osirion’s greatest riddles. Months passed with no word from Safan, and you and your fellow Pathfinders find yourselves dispatched into the desolate wastes of Osirion’s notorious Parched Dunes to find the sphinx, locate Safan, and uncover the mystery he sought. With a band of cloaked riders on your trail and a trap-filled dungeon ahead, will you solve the third riddle before time runs out? Written by Clinton J. Boomer. This product is a Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st to 5th level characters. (Tiers: 1–2, 4–5.) Pathfinder (Sat. 8a-12 noon)

R73 WH Dark Providence: Swans
Wrath is said to be the “love of justice perverted to revenge and spite.” It goes hand-in-hand with Pride as the two common Deadly Sins. These sins are deadly indeed for the village of Boswyck, not far from New Amsterdam, on a fine summer day in 1689. By P. Dennis Waltman. Witch Hunter: Dark Providence 1-02 (Sat. 1p-5p)

R74 Pathfinder Society Scenario #12: Stay of Execution (OGL)
When a petty thief named Hadge gets a lucky break and makes off with a powerful divination focus of the Pathfinder Society’s masked leadership, you and your fellow Pathfinders set out to the sparsely populated Taldor frontier to find him and recover the focus. When the local governor tosses Hadge into the brutal Porthmos Prison for a minor crime, your mission suddenly becomes a jail break. Will you free Hadge and uncover the location of the focus before the gangs of Porthmos tear him apart? Written by Alison McKenzie. This product is a Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st to 7th level characters (Tiers: 1–2, 3–4, 6–7). (Sat. 7p-11p)

R75 Fellowship of the White Star B105: The Rock
A series of unexplained deaths on Gibraltar has been brought to the attention of the Fellowship. With the Queen of England visiting soon, you are tasked with investigation the deaths and seeing if there is any danger for the Queen. A module designed for any-level characters set in the Fellowship of the White Star campaign of Earth, 03/23/1905. Written by: David Nadolny. Fellowship of the White Star (Sun. 8a-12 noon)

Great news! I was not expecting this! Pathfinder Society Regional Director Art Lobdell has confirmed that he will be joining us at Carnage! He'll be running 5 games--at least 3 Pathfinder Society games, plus Witch Hunter and/or Fellowship of the White Star. I had an *amazing* time playing both of the latter and of course a phenomenal Pathfinder game at Council of 5 Nations a few weekends ago.

I need to work up what should go in what slots and I will let you know. If you have preferences for which Pathfinder games would be good to run please let me know--email is best at crabb (dot) christine (at) yahoo (dot) com.

Dear Christy,

Thank you very much for your reply. It is disappointing that the Pathfinder Society will not be at the Carnage on the Mountain convention. I will give the other games a try. Thank you for letting me know about them.
Good luck with everything as you organize the Convention.

Elyas

Thank you. We've been disappointed as well--I know how much people look forward to it and it kills me not to be offering it. I was really pleased to game with the NY regional coordinator at Council of 5 Nations in Schenectady three times this past weekend. He was fantastic, as were the other PS GMs and players.

I've got a lot of support from those folks now, so I'm expecting Pathfinder Society to be in very good shape for Carnage for 2011 and onward.

I hope you enjoy the other games and please introduce yourself to me at Lake Morey! I look forward to meeting you.

Best,
Christy

Greetings Elyas,

It's been a transitional year with Pathfinder Society for Carnage--the usual PS organizers for our con have stepped down, and despite quite a bit of looking we were unable to find anyone interested in taking up leadership. We are still working on some leads, so do check back at our Addendum page at http://www.carnagecon.com/field-marshal-reports/convention-book-addendum/ in case there are last-minute updates.

The good news is that I was just at Council of 5 Nations this past weekend and made some great contacts there with PS leadership and with a group that has already expressed strong interest in running a good number of PS games for next year. I'm quite positive that Pathfinder Society will be back full force for Carnage 2011.

If you haven't tried out TC Fantasy games before, they are 3.5-based and run by a fantastic group of people--they are running 3 slots (at least 1 but probably 2 games during each of those 3 slots) at Carnage this year. We also have a couple of Pathfinder games that are not part of organized play (one in the book, running in two different slots, and one in the addendum), and six 3.5 games that are not part of TC Fantasy.

Although our total number of RPGs is more than 20% greater than last year's and we have a great variety of games and a group of fantastic GMs, the lack of Pathfinder Society thus far is a truly unfortunate loss. I hope the other games I've mentioned will be of interest, but if not, please know that this is an anomalous year and I fully expect and am putting the network into place to ensure that Pathfinder Society will have a strong presence in future years.

Feel free to email me at crabb (dot) christine (at) yahoo (dot) com if you'd like any additional information.
