Scarab Sages

Amisi looks for cover and evaluates her options.

She then raises her hand an a flaming sphere appears close to the furthest of the skeletons / snake creatures. Blocking the way if possible - but also trying to burn them

Damage 3d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 3) = 6 Reflex save negates DC17

Scarab Sages

Amisi takes some time to investigate the door.

Knowledge History 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

"This is not the way Shelyn likes it."

Scarab Sages

Amisi stays in the background - waiting for the scouts to do their job.

Scarab Sages

Still here

Birthday and gaming weekend with an extra game on Monday for the Junior League (it's half term) followed by a special gift from a friend coming down for the game - the flu.

Have been reading up to the last posting and wait what happens

Scarab Sages

Amisi watches warily

"Don't do something stupid. Dark rituals often have a price - and you only know afterwards if the price is worth paying."

Scarab Sages

Amisi looks at the jewellry

"Oh - Setebo - that looks nice. You wouldn't mind if I take the nice necklace - is goes well with the colour of my hair.
Too long that I haven't had the opportunity to truly represent and to go out in nice clothes and jewellry to a ball.
We can still sell it when we are back in civilisation - but it looks good to have something beautiful and shiny with me."

GM - you didn't specify - just said 'assorted'. So I just assume there is at least one necklace included.
I even take a -2 penalty on stealth in sunlight.

Scarab Sages

Just realised I have one useful spell after all - but doesn't look worthwhile anymore.

Amisi stays curled up behind Setebo. She knows she will be chided by Natalyah afterwards fir her cowardice but self preservation wins out.

Scarab Sages

Amisi curls even further together to be fully, fully defensive.

"Take it down Setebo!!"

Scarab Sages

Amisi goes full defensive

"It seems sleep didn't affect it and most other spells right now don't work in the air'"

Sorry - was off to Conception for 5 days.

Scarab Sages

Seeing the beast attacking she casts Mage Armor on herself.

Scarab Sages

Good luck and sorry that I'm not as frequent here either. Wanted a weekend off and then felt guilty not have posted in any campaign - so avoided it for another day ...

Scarab Sages

"Let me try some magic first. Maybe I can put it to sleep. I don't know if it is too powerful - but it's worth a try."

With this words she tries a sleep spell - Will DC16, 130 feet range

Scarab Sages

"I'm not yet skilled enough to dispel her magics - but I will try to disrupt her before she tries charming any of you.

Scarab Sages

Amisi waits for Setebo - if the large half-Orc gets over savely then she assumes she will manage as well.

Scarab Sages

[/b]"So lets go. A mountain devil - that sounds not good - but we need to do what needs to be done."[/b]

Scarab Sages

Amisi is still shaken by the event.

"I'm glad this is how it ended. I wasn't sure if it was brave or stupid to walk into the darkness. I heard her casting and feared the worst.
But let's move on. Anything that could help us getting off the island?"

Spellcraft on the ring 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22

Scarab Sages

"Caithan - I will do my best. Try to retrieve me if I don't come back from the darkness after I have cast."

Amisi walks forward into the darkness in the direction she hears the chanting from. She tries to remember the layout before the darkness engulfed them as good as she can - to take an educated guess where she might be.

She then streches her hands forward - concentrating on her ring - flames spring forward from her fingers and she listens intently for any signs that her spell did find the target.

Burining hands Damage 3d4 ⇒ (4, 2, 3) = 9 DC16 reflex to half

Concentration check 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 In case she gets an AoO

Spellcraft in hope to identify from the chant what is cast 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19

It is a 15 feet cone. Amisi will try to get to approx. 10 feet distance following the chanting. She hopes the hag isn't threatening while chanting (?) and that she might disrupt the spell if it is a full round action spell. And off course that she isn't getting too close to even trigger an AoO.
Too many variables - so will leave it to Wellard to sort it out as he sees fit. I will accept whatever ruling you do.

Scarab Sages

?? I thought Amisi might even been ahead as she acted like the hag had left the darkness.
2Wellard - or is it a will save for her - yes - I assumed she was out of range but again if the hag is intelligent then she moves first channels second ..

Scarab Sages

"You shouldn't have shown yourself old hag - eat fire !!"

The flaming sphere bursts forward.

Damage 3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 2) = 10 Reflex DC17 to avoid

Will save 1d20 ⇒ 17

GM - please let me know if you like me to roll reflex saves in the future to make it more easy for you. Need to check if this was the second (prepared) or third (arcane bond) spell of the day.

Scarab Sages

Amisi changes her mind - more fire power is needed.

She decides on another flaming sphere.

Ready action - flaming sphere if target can be seen.

Scarab Sages

Amisi tries to identify the spell.

Spellcraft 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31

Saving throw (?) 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18 (assuming fortitude - will is two better)

Scarab Sages

Amisi readies a disrupt undead in case she can spot the hag.

Scarab Sages

Will save 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 1 = 20

"My magic isn't strong enough to fight the darkness.

Scarab Sages

Amisi also moves back outside the darkness (move action 1) and then orders the flaming spehere towards the place she last saw the hag.

Miss - low bad 1d100 ⇒ 77

Damage 3d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 5) = 9

Scarab Sages

Amisi casts a flaming sphere.

Damage 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 2) = 7 reflex DC 17

Scarab Sages

Geography 1

the images presented depict scenes here on the island of Smuggler’s Shiv.

Scarab Sages

Check Knowledge Nature 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

Geography 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

History 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Geography 2 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

sorry for the order - posted nature first as I was sure I have the skill and then checked what other skills I have.

Scarab Sages

"I hope the bone pile won't come alive. We have seen other undead around earlier."

Amisi 'prods' it with a disrupt Undead from as far away as possible.

Touch Attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 damage 1d6 ⇒ 6

Not sure if I'm prodding a sleeping bear here - - it might just be a pile of bones - but Amisi feels twitchy.
Even flatfooted and large - that wasn't a good aim ...

Scarab Sages

Amisi seems to dislike the idea of undead hunting. They are just such abominations. She follows carefully in the last row - disrupt undead ready for the first sign of an undead abomination.

Not sure I did cast Mage armour or if stuff happened to quickly - in case I didn't cast it yet - I will do so now.

Scarab Sages

Amisi casts Dancing Lights that fly ahead of her to give illumination.

Scarab Sages

Amisi walks over to investigate the remains of the captain.

Take 20

Scarab Sages

Done my action - the strategy is up to the fighters.

Scarab Sages

Atzi - let me cast first before you rush in.

Cast Disrupt Undead - ranged touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1

I have no clue if this is already combat and if anyone is in front. So I can have modifier between 0 (no cover, no combat) and -8 (cover and combat). Amisi will move if this avoids cover..
Okay - just spot the damage roll :((

Scarab Sages

"What is following you?"

Waiting for actual targets and to know if the targets are alive.

Scarab Sages

"And if the snake knows of a way off this island. She didn't appear to me stupid and seemed to know what she wa doing. Possibly planning a lot long in advance."

Scarab Sages

Amisi mutters "it's too wet down here - I've problems with the fire moving across the floor."

But she isn't giving up

Move action - flaming sphere Damage 3d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6) = 16 Reflex DC17 to avoid

Scarab Sages

Amisi directs the flaming sphere back to one of the creatures - hoping for more luck this time.

Move action

Damage 3d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4) = 6 DC 17 Reflex to negate

She then casts Mage Armour

Scarab Sages

Amisi casts a flaming shpere and let it roll into the field of one of the beasts.

Damage 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 3) = 10 DC17 reflex to negate

Scarab Sages

Amisi follows carefully - taking care to have Setebo in front of her in case of any danger.

Scarab Sages

Amisi follows carefully.

Scarab Sages

Amisi agrees:

"We can do the cave tomorrow. I'm not as hard as Setebo or our lady of steel - so I need some sleep to regain my arcane powers. I just feel safer in a place with no windows or other holes.
Don't want to have a snake biting me while asleep.

With these words Amisi looks for a good place to sleep.

Scarab Sages

"She had magical power and she 'acted' like a snake. COuld it be possible that we got fooled by a shapechanger."

Amisi tries to remember if she has read about snake shapechangers

Knowledge check 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28

I only do one roll as all knowledge are the same modifier. Possible ones to use are Arcana, Dungeoneering, History, Local, Nature. I'm not looking up the beastry to find out which is the most likely.

Scarab Sages

"I'm out of spells - apart of minor ones against undead. But my health is fine. Don't worry about me - but don't expect much help either.

Scarab Sages

Amisi searches the hut for any spell components - or maybe even a spell book.

Take 20:

Scarab Sages

"Get a rope and bind her. Could someone stabilize her."

Scarab Sages

Amisi picks up the weapon from Caithan in case he snaps out.

"Get yourself together - she is just tricking you. Setebo needs you."

Fully defensive (out of spells and I don't think it helps for her to go into meleed.)

Scarab Sages

Round 1 was a magic missile - see Tuesday post.

Amisi casts a Daze on the cackling witch. DC Will 15

"I'm more or less out of spells - cut them down quickly."

Scarab Sages

"I don't know much about this creature. But I'm sure if you hit it hard enough it will perish.

Casting Magic Missile from the bonded object and stepping back

Damage 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 2) + 2 = 6

Scarab Sages

"Has anyone an idea if this is undead or a demon."

Knowledge Arcana or dungeoneering to identify the creature 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

unfortunately I fear planes or religion would be more useful.

Scarab Sages

Amisi looks at Atzi - too bad she doesn't have a spell to blast the door open. On the other hand - maybe good to preserve whatever magic she has left.
