At the remark about copying spells she shakes her head a little. "No need. Its strange really, as much of my life as I have spent writing, the whole casting spells from a book thing has always alluded me. My magic always felt more like an emotion...or a negotiation with forces I can't fully comprehend." She looks thoughtful for a moment, then chuckles, "Its probably for the best. Ami nods to Dog Tooth and says, "Shall we move then?" She takes a minute resummon Itzal then begins proceeding down the tower. When she reaches the exit, she turns to Dog Tooth once more and asks. "I'm going to send Itzal to scout one half of the walls. Can you go with him, open doors and whatnot...and perhaps check the other half?"

Ami tries to hide her amusement at the singed goblin. "Sorry", she says, with an unapologetic shrug, "Although, I wasn't expecting you to be working on dangerous experiments in the middle of a prison escape..." she says letting a half smile slip out. A goblin lockpick who can't resist science...and doesn't know what goblins are. Where did they find this guy? She nonchalantly walks past the argument in the hall and shows Dog Tooth the drawer. Her eyes brighten with curiosity as she flips through the book. She uses Read Magic. If that fails...
Without looking up from the tome, she shouts out into the hallway, "Well, can we all agree that the man on the gate and anyone on the walls should be taken out? Why don't we start there? If we make a mistake and a horn gets blown, this whole argument will be a moot point...We have gotten this far by taking things one problem at a time."

Replying to Ashmoniel, "I won't deny that there are risks involved in fighting Blackerly. However, there are risks either way. We need to decide which is more dangerous, fighting Blackerly or leaving people alive who can follow us." Pulling on the desk drawer a few more times, she sighs and heads over to Dog Tooth. She quickly makes sure that Ashmoniel took the scrolls and informs the others that they have aquired another potion, putting it in the sack. Tapping Dog Tooth on the shoulder, she asks "Hey, when you are done with...whatever it is you are doing, I have a locked drawer in the office."

@GM Did you see the question about the entrances to the walls and gatehouse? Ami leans out the doorway and sees Dog Tooth occupied with something. Turning to the others she gestures to the drawer and asks, "Think any of you could force this lock open? Replying to Iana, she adds "Of course. Killing Blackerly has always been plan A. Consider framing him our backup." Ami looks down at the painful scar on her arm. "Besides, this mark means more that just a death sentence. It is sign that we are outcasts...to be detested by all. I want Blackerly to go to the afterlife knowing that he will be hated by the people of Talingarde." Pausing to reflect for a moment, she adds, "...but I still think the guards on the gatehouse and wall should be our first priority. Blackerly is distracted and probably drunk. They are alert and have higher ground.

Ami throws the ring in sack, along with the rest of their stolen goods. She reads over the scrolls to see if anything looks familiar (Read Magic Cantrip). Putting the scrolls and the potion neatly in a stack, she turns to Ashmoniel. "Wizard...do you know what these are?" she inquires, gesturing to the potion and any unidentified scrolls. Next, she holds up the ioun torch and asks, "Anyone want to hold onto this? Or should I just throw it in the sack with the rest?" Crossing over the body again, Ami heads to the office and begins searching. Take 20 on perception for 24 As she searches she talks to those in the hallway. "So what are our next moves? Try to get up on the walls and gatehouse to take out remaining guards?" Looking at the map, I'm not seeing any entrances to the walls. Are we able to tell either through the map or previous scouting efforts how you get onto the wall or on top of the gatehouse?

Anyone these narrow-minded Talireans lable as mad, is my kind of author. She points the book out to Ashmoniel, figuring her to be the most interested in this kind of material. Ami looks at the servants for a moment. I think they have told us all they are willing to share, they have no hope of fighting against all six of us...and this whole non-violence act is exhausting. Time to drop the nice guy charade. "In theory, the easiest escape would be to just defeat the two remaining guards standing between us and the exit. However, if we make a mistake and than horn gets blown we could easily end up fighting Blackerly, the Warden and the remaining guards all at once." Ami contemplates for a moment. "Yes, I think I agree with what you are saying, Kalethe. Capture the king, while his pawns are at the other side of the board." Looking around the guardroom, she chuckles, "Anyway, it seems that the former occupants of this room were unwilling to sacrifice him," she says pointing to the one Iana had dragged away. "Let's see if the warden is willing to watch them both die..." Ami looks at Ishtak for a moment, then turns back the the group, "It seems we have a good grasp on the prison's layout...and I don't forsee any immediate need to split up. I think I will dismiss Ishtak for now. Maintaining him on this plane takes a lot of concentration that I could be giving towards more combat oriented summons..." she explains as she dismisses him.

As Ami finishes up her forgery, she turns her attention back to the prison map. Remembering Dog Tooth's comment about their equipment, she notices that the last unexplored room looks like it might contain supplies. Assuming Ash brought the remaining hostage with her into the supply room. "I'd bring the brand just in case. If we run into Blackerly, I'd still be inclined to turn him over to Kalethe. The paperwork is just a safety net to ensure he doesn't go unrewarded...besides, I am not one hundred percent sure it is his paperwork. He is just my best guess..." thinking for a moment, "As for out equipment, I guess keep looking. There are two more rooms...although they may have kept it in the locations where we were originally captured. Seeing Ashmoniel walk into the room with one hostage, Ami is alarmed for a moment. "Where is..." she starts to asks, her voice getting a little higher than she wanted. However, assessing the situation, she relaxes a little. The elf is no fool. She would have ask for help if a prisoner was escaping and would not be so calm... "The others took one of them? she asks Ashmoniel. Hopefully they are putting him to good use, instead of just giving Kalethe a new toy. Good hostages are hard to come by... Seeing an opportunity to return to the office, away from the prying eyes of the servant, Ami moves back to the desk. Finding some spare parchment, she spends a few moments practicing the handwriting in the documents. She then proceeds to carefully add a two entries. One entry shows a large payment, received right before they arrived in the prison. The other shows an outgoing payment for a boat passage for six passengers to the nearest port in Varisia. I will take 20 on the forgery check. That' s26 if I can use Profession (Scribe), 24 if you want me to stick with Linguistics.

Since Blackerly's incompetence has been so helpful in our escape, I was thinking of making it official...I have some mild skill with quill and parchment. Perhaps I could add a few lines to the books...a large sum of money from a mysterious source...payment of a boat passage for six people to Varisia..." Ami examines the brand on her arm and frowns. "I'd hate to leave the prison without thanking him...and a brand for a brand seems fair, no?" she shrugs, "...and it won't hurt to have investigators think we are leaving the country..."

Ami slowly starts to move towards the dining room. They should be able to handle it...but it doesn't hurt to be nearby if things go south. Ami laughs a little bit. "Ishtak, looks like this is getting complicated. I think you should go fill in the rest of the group..." As Ishtak slithers up the chimney, to relay information to the others, Ami walks over to the servant and hops up onto the counter next to him. She pats him on the shoulder and gives him a warm smile. "Hey buddy, I get it... We're the bad guys, right? ...and you're getting all these heroic thoughts in your head..." she pauses to put her hands in her lap, "...but here's the deal. We are leaving this prison one way or another. Your warden doesn't care...Blackerly is too caught up in his gambling...and honestly the guards here aren't really a match for us. Open conflict would be a hindrance for us..." her eyes narrow a little, "...it would be a disaster for you. That guard in the hallway would die. The guards on the gate would die...both of you, obviously, would die." Ami shakes her head, "So much death...so much waste...Is that really what you want?" Ami strokes his head in a motherly way and speaks in a soothing tone, "I want us to work this out together...because I don't want to die, just like you. But if you keep lying to us...I am going to have to hand you over to the boys...and between you and me, that guy... Ami points to Kalethe, "...is pretty twisted. I don't want to do that...so I'll ask you again, is there really a way you can smuggle us out of here? If not, lets start brainstorming some more realistic solutions...so that no one esle has to die..." "Now, now, Dog Tooth. There will be no need for that...as long as they behave." Ami smiles sweetly at the servants and says, "You are going to behave, right?" She continues going through the cabinets, while munching on her apple. "Hmm...no good...no good...no good", she mutters as she tosses food aside, not caring much where it lands. "Oh! This will keep!" This continues for a few minutes until Ami has wrapped all the non-perishable food and thrown it into the sack. She also wraps a few steaks for the dogs and some food for Paul, Iana and Grumblejack. This is starting to get heavy... she thinks as she drags the sack along the ground. "So, shall we all proceed to the dining room...?" Ami says cheerfully as she tosses an apple core over her shoulder and picks up a bread roll.

Ami shakes her head disapprovingly, "There is no harm in a little teasing...but nothing good will come from us fighting with one another. Save that malice for our enemies..." With that she picks up the dropped bow, puts it in the sack and follows Ashmoniel and Dog Tooth to the chimney. If it's as simple as dropping down without the flames, she will do so. Otherwise she will ask for the rope-like item from the veil, knot it, then take 10 (8) to get the bottom. Upon landing in the kitchen, Ami gives an overly friendly wave to the hostages, before picking up an apple and biting into it. "Before we move on, let's see if there is any food we can use as rations," she says, pausing to take a big bite out of the apple, "Man, that's good...also lets see if we can find some steaks or something...in case we run into the dogs our friend told us about." Ami chuckles at Dog Tooth's remarks, but then appears to get distracted for a moment. "Ok. Kalethe has two hostages...although we may end up with one if we leave him to his own devices..." she says with a slight sigh. "Whatever our moves are...we should start making them.". "It seems we have two good options...jump him using your disguises or force him to surrender using hostages...or some combination of the two..."

"Ranged attacks would be our best bet...although if none of us are skilled with a bow it will be tricky to down him before he can blow the horn," Ami whispers. "However, I don't think we should do anything until we know Kalethe is ready. Ishtak says there are two of servants and Kalethe is trying to intimidate them into submission." The guards may give up the horn...even their weapons if it means not seeing the maid get her throat slit..." "Itzal, do you think you can make that jump?" Ami hears Itzal reply "It will be risssky, but I do not fear the flamesss." "Itzal will go with you, Kalethe. He won't be much help in a fight...especially if he botches the jump...but at least we will be able to remain coordinated." Ami looks pleased at the last guard goes down. She extends out her arm, calling the eagle towards her. She looks Iana and Grumblejack over. Yes...definitely keep those two in front of you. "So now we need to take out the guards in the hall...but they have a horn so we will have to be careful. It seems in addition to the hallway we also have another room connected by the chimney. All we know is there is a fire and some people who don't really fit into our guard count... Servants perhaps? I personally don't see myself being able to climb down there or jump over the fire." she turns to the group, '...but perhaps some of you have the skill. If so, we might be able to surround the hallway." Ami also picks up the longbows and arrows from all four guards. "Anyone who can use these should take one. A ranged option never hurts...especially when we still have to deal with the guards on the walls and gate." She puts any unclaimed bows into the sack. "I'll hold onto the rest, in case anyone changes there mind...plus we may need to get some quick gold if we get out of here"

Ami throws the door wide open and smiles at Grumblejack. "Give 'em hell, champ!" she says with a wink. If they somehow survive the surprise round, she will be preparing to summon an eagle after turn order reset...somehow I doubt that will necessary ;)

Ami looks impressed, although she does let out a little sigh when Iana mentions Grumblejack. How did I end up being responsible him? I suppose it doesn't hurt have a big guy like that in between you and the guards... "Yes...I think thats a very good plan. The only suggestion that I would make is that, if at all possible, Ishtak should hide near the door or the stairs. That way he can try to steal to horn before the guards are aware of our presence." Once the plan is finalized, Ami goes to hide in the small room nearby. She addresses Grumblejack with a gentle and motherly tone. "Come with me please Grumblejack...Take a club or a sword if it will help you fight. This time we are going to stay very quiet and hide in this room. Then, when the others attack you can run out and give those guards a beating they won't soon forget. Understand? Ishtak will take 10 on stealth for a 26 to hide by the stairs

The stairs if possible. He is intelligent so I assumed he would be able listen for people and stealthily try and open doors with his mouth, except for very heavy doors...but it that's too much of a stretch, Ami would probably ask Dog Tooth if he would go too.

"This guy said that the only thing that can be heard through these walls is the signal horn...as long as we are careful about any horn bearer, I don't think we will attract the Warden's attention." Ami turns to Ishtak, "I think you should start scouting the floor below us...Figure out where the exit is and see if you can find supplies." She empties the sack and hands it to him.
