Scarab Sages

I can't remember where I saw it, or if it was a class feature/feat/archetype/item or whatever, but I remember seeing something that changed stunning fist into a will save instead of a fort save. Hell, might've been from 3.5 too, but I can't remember.

Anyone?

Btw., rules wise, if it says for Rage powers, the barbarian needs to be 12th lvl, does this mean class or character levels?

Class levels.

Keep in mind that although you may have a higher CMB as a raging barbarian, the Tetori brings more to the table for grapplers than a CMB. Grab can be devastating (and grants a +4 bonus to your grapple checks btw) and the ability to nullify freedom of movement and polymorph/teleportation pretty much shores up some of the major weaknesses of grappling. Also being able to take attacks of opportunity while grappling takes some of the sting of being taken out of the fight away.

Barbarian grapplers are nice for the odd grapple and locking down a dangerous (medium ) foe, aside from dishing out some serious pain and also seems to be right on for what you're looking for. I would advise against taking monk as it specializes in a different playstyle than what you seem to want. (monks are more of a mobile battlefield controller)

PS. Also take note that barbarians are rather feat starved compared to just going monk to specialize in unarmed damage/grappling.

The Qinggong/ Martial artist really isn't going to work... after all Qinggong requires a ki pool to work and the martial artist doesn't have a ki pool.

So while you could technically take both... there is no reason to do so.

Activation: Most ki powers require the monk to spend ki points; the exact amount is listed after the ki power. Ki powers that cost 0 ki do not require the monk to have any ki points in her ki pool to use the ability.

also since martial artist still has abundant step and no ki points, may as well trade it out

edit: so you could have "share memory" at will, since thats the only one that works

However you still have to have a ki pool -- which you don't.

It's not like you have one and it is empty -- you don't have one period.

Could trade abundant step for diamond body.

So I can essentially get 3 grappling maneuvers in a single round with greater grapple and rapid grappler? (assuming my check to maintain succeeds)

Correct. And the +1 bonus on attack and damage is not weapon-specific, so it applies to your weapon and your unarmed strikes.

Wait, correct as in "my main hand unarmed strikes would have the bonus, but not my offhand"?

Am I interpreting it correctly when I see the Free Hand Fighter's singleton ability have no effect on unarmed strikes? For example, if I go the two-weapon fighting route wielding only unarmed strikes, would only the main hand attacks get the bonus, or neither, since I'm not technically "wielding" anything?
