Besmara’s Blessing: You were born aboard a ship at sea or down by the docks in a port city on an
auspicious day. Old salts and sea dogs nod knowingly and say that Besmara the Pirate Queen, goddess of piracy, sea monsters, and strife, has marked you for a greater destiny. You don’t know anything about that, but you’ve always felt more at home on the sea than on land, and your keen eyes can easily pick out a sail on the distant horizon. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Perception and Profession (sailor) checks. In addition, once per week you can reroll a Profession (sailor) check and take the higher result (you must announce that you are using this ability before the results of the check are known).

Appearance
Amaric appears as a haggard man approaching middle years. He has lank, shoulder length brown hair, and dark stubble on what would normally be smooth elven cheeks. His long hair covers his ears, often concealing the softly pointed ears that bely his parentage. His clothes also look bedraggled, as if he has been sleeping outdoors for quite a while. When he takes off his shirt, you see scores of lashes on his back.
Backstory
Amaric considers himself cursed. Cursed when he saw the love of his life, Nilshara, carried away by the pox. A loss that drove him to see, taking a commission with an Andoran merchantman. Cursed when his ship was attacked by Chelaxian privateers. Cursed when he was enslaved, to a brutal captain. Cursed when his ship foundered off the Slithering Coast. Cursed when he swam to shore, only to be hunted by the dread denizens of that dark land. Why, how is he still alive? He does not know. The only thing that drives him now, is vengeance.
