Doc certainly watches over Zindarel with Zakzak and steers clear when the goblin toys with the mithral tree. She'll make sure the elf is on her feet before she and Booker move on to their next score.

Just FYI: Regarding Head-Shot the Rot, I'm having Doc make tactical decisions, but not really offering opinions on what should be done next because I'm GMing the game myself. I know what's optimal, what's hidden and who's up to what badness.

So it's not that I'm not interested, just purposefully playing dumb.

Doc was going to suggest the clothesline, but seeing the goblin do it makes he wonder if that isn't a sign it's the wrong idea.

I am many times past 13.

I think the adventure assumes that splash damage is going to be a thing and actually part of the fun, especially where Zakzak is concerned. I can see Doc (a healer, after all) taking pains not to hit anyone except in dire situations, but I can also see Zakzak peppering his allies in his excitement. I can also see Booker giving Zakzak an attitude adjustment at some point!

As for gore, I'm no fan of buckets of blood, but I signed up to this knowing it would include guns and the undead, so some gory description is just part of the deal. I'm sure your powers of description are more than adequate to the task, Farol! :-p

I think we're good.

Impressed with the goblin's speed, if not his crafting skills, Doc was relieved for the change of subject.

She sat back and watched. Booker should have know better than to play cards with anyone who said he didn't know how the game was played and she wasn't giving shoulder rubs to anyone this night. She smiled inwardly and hoped her partner would enjoy the goblin's shoulder rubs if he won, though she assumed his target was the goblin's elvish companion.

She signalled the barmaid for another round.

Curiosity, disbelief and revulsion war on Doc's face for a moment before she waves the object away. "Ah...no. No thank you. Perhaps you could put it away now and demonstrate it some other time when there are 'bad guys' in need of cutlery?"

But she can't let it go. Pinching the bridge of her nose with one hand, she says "Okay, I have to ask. Why spoons and butter knives? Wouldn't, I don't know, steak knives and daggers be more deadly? I cannot believe I am having this conversation."

"Told you so," she mutters.

Looking at the goblin with a calculating eye, Doc replies. "Depends. Picked out a grave site yet? Because if you touch my guns, you're..."

She pauses, her eyes falling on the travesty of a firearm the goblin is carrying. "Okay, wait. I know I'm going to regret asking this, but what in the name of Brigh's cast-iron brassiere is that thing? Is...is that a pistol?"

The statuesque Garundi woman named Doc fidgeted with her cards and then tossed them down. "I fold," she said, more distracted than irritated. She'd failed to draw to an inside straight and besides, neither she nor Booker really had much money to win and it was too early in the evening to start relieving the locals of their cash.

"I'm telling you, Book, my feet are itching. It means trouble is coming. Remember that coach ride and the mutant attack? They were itching then. Don't give me that look. I know what I'm talking about."

For perhaps the fifth time this evening, Doc checks her weapons, the dueling pistol named Problem and the dragon-mouth pistol named Solution to ensure they were primed and loose in her holsters.
