Backstory:

Not every hero desires power, and Amadia is the prime example of this. Amadia grew up in Kyonin, with family that prized knowledge above all, but unlike many did not seek to use knowledge for their own gain, but rather to benefit others. Most of her family had some grasp upon magic, great or small, however Amadia’s talents lay elsewhere, quickly discovering that she was skilled in tinkering and inventing practical tools for everyday life. Her family, keen for her to hone her talent, encouraged her to seek an apprenticeship and Amadia did, leaving her family behind to join the Alchemists Guild, to master her abilities.

Like many others, Amadia was initially caught up in the wonder of studying in a place where the boundaries of magic were constantly pushed, more than that, sometimes the very limits of mental or physical condition were challenged constantly. While Amadia was initially swept up, she quickly mastered herself, and worked tirelessly on her studies, forming relationships with other students that studied the mental capacity of the mind. Many of these students favoured the offensive characteristics, wistfully dreaming of a supreme cognatogen that if given to a spellcaster, would unlock its full potential. This was not Amadia dream, who was determined to find a middle ground, somehow opening up pathways into the mind, but without the dangers of turning such a thing into a weapon.

Withdrawing into herself, Amadia made great progress on her own, free from distractions she eventually succeeded into creating a new type of cognatogen, her passive mind-set resulting in the creation of something that matched her interests, an Inspiring Cognatogen. Thrilled with her success, Amadia was initially tempted to freely spread her creation, and make it available to all, but she grew hesitant when she saw the levels of adjustment going on within the Guild, Deciding that she did not yet trust her friends not to abuse her formula, she quietly left and set off on her own, heading off to join the Pathfinder Society, determined to speak with Kreighton Shaine for advice on what to do with her precious formula.

Amadia did eventually meet with Kreighton, who encouraged her to join the Society, after all, the Pathfinder Society was a hub for knowledge, the very thing that Amadia was most interested in. After further reflection, Amadia agreed, deciding that by gathering data and finishing research papers, not only can she embrace the easy access to her vice of choice, but she can put her own creations to good use.

Party Role:

Amadia is primarily built to be a skill monkey and supporting character. She is good with Knowledges, good with Languages, and can Disable Device any traps that the party might run across. On top of this, with Inspiring Cognatogen, she can have greater reliability with her skills. As she progresses, she will be able to resort to bombs and debuff enemies with Tanglefoot, Smoke, and Stink Bombs, and pass out extracts with Infusion. With Planar Preservationist, she will eventually be able to pass out extracts of SNA / SM to various party members, while being able to fallback on potions and other extracts in order to buff the party. She should have lots of options to he in a combat situation, and out of combat she has her wide variety of skills, so she should hopefully be ok in any situation.
