Althamis shares the results of his divination magic with the party..."Be careful with that one, he has vile intent on his mind, for such a meek demeanor."

While he knew most in Ustalav practiced many non-good tendencies (it was natural, the setting could harden any man), Althamis did not yet know how trustworthy Estovion was, so he detects evil on him.

"My friend, I am sure hunting is best done in groups, given what we have encountered so far in the Shudderwood. The dangers of the forest may overwhelm you and the noble. While I share your enthusiasm to rid the woods of the lycans, perhaps it would be best to ride in the morn."

Althamis approaches the guards with a letter, "I come bearing a letter of recommendation from the esteemed and renowned Judge Daramid from Lepidstadt to present to the lodge’s warden, Estovion Lozarov. He should see these right away. This should be sufficient to let us inside, correct?"

Althamis looks back at the party and smiles. He drops his current daggers and draws the silver dagger he found embedded in the heart of the "werewolf" and his very own silver dagger. "Time to dance.."

Althamis points out the stones and approaches them carefully, daggers in hand, detecting evil in the area.

"Yes, Voyla, we will avenge them." After Kerzan's search, we continue our trek to the Lodge.

Actually, I would prefer to save the charges on the wands. Althamis can channel energy three times per day:

You both heal 27 hps and Tania needs 5 charges to get to full and Voyla needs 2 charges for a total of 7, instead of 14.

"Dangerous foes...hard-hitting. Looks like we're in someone's sights, the same person who may have killed the previous adventuring party."

Althamis 5' steps west and full-attacks the last skeleton. "Face me, you undead abomination!"

Seeing the damage inflicted by the skeletons, Althamis' hatred for undead takes over and he moves 5' toward the skeleton who was wounded by Voyla's arrows and full-attacks it with his blades!

"Voyla, I have no love loss for this poor soul. If he was a werewolf, he was a vicious evil creature that needed to be put down. And if he wasn't, then what was he doing in these woods, where as we have found to date, only evil abounds? I will help cut him down, but I am not burying him. Hell, we cremated the adventurers we found previously and those were good souls who did not deserve their fates. This corpse should get the same treatment: cremation."

Althamis helps cut the corpse down and if no one else takes the flowers, he grabs them and stuffs him in his backpack. After the cremation, we move on.

"If it's a cure for lycanthropy, sure. Ya never know if one of us gets bitten by one of those things."

"I guess there may be some strife between the humans and the werewolves in these parts. This has the feel of the trap of a hunter of some sort. We should be wary." Althamis says a prayer for the deceased's soul and plucks the silver dagger from his chest. "This corpse, even if a werewolf, won't be coming back from this. Let's move on."

In the morning, Althamis smiles at the brawler after her drink, "Good to have you back, Tania. Your face is redder and full of life." When he sees the corpse later, the paladin approaches the corpse, his twin daggers in his hands, looking for any ambushes or traps.

Althamis grits his teeth in pain, as the undead's claw nearly rips out his shoulder. He says a quick blessing and heals himself and then full attacks the creature again!

"Guess we're staying." Althamis heads into the hut and listens to the crone's story. He keeps his hands near his daggers, just in case all is not as it seems. "What are the other tribes called?"

Althamis sees Tania's reaction and politely smiles, "Thank you, ma'am. I am sorry I did not get your name. I am Althamis. But we have a long trek through the woods left so we bid you farewell and be careful in these woods all by your lonesome." With that, the half-elf motions the rest to continue the trek.

If no evil is detected, Althamis will approach the hut and knock on the door.

Althamis smiles at his companions, "Good to have you back! I was worried there for awhile when the I saw the size of that. Thankfully, Sarenrae aided me in battle. We should check to see that there are no more dangers here or below us." Althamis detects evil and then cuts down the cocoon-like subjects hanging from the ceiling. He suspects these were the weaver's food source. After, he will climb down, with someone's aid, into the hole in the floor and check out the weaver's lair.

"You sure are big and ugly! Your reign of terror ends tonight, weaver!"

Free action to use Piranha Strike; swift action to activate smite evil. Then full-attack with both of my daggers on the flat-footed beast!

My bad, I sped through GM post, saw the W and mistook it for worms. I am also in an AoW campaign so I have worms on my mind. Hehe.

Althamis heals himself with his Lay on Hands, curing2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8 points of damage. Down only 4 hps.

"I think we need to kill the ettercap's Master Worm, which lives in the tower, so it will stop harassing and feeding off travelers in these woods. We must end the threat. Tania, can you aid us in your weakened state?"

Althamis picks up this thrown daggers and is ready to head to the tower upon an affirmative response.

Althamis praises Tania for her knockout of the ettercap. "Now, we can question it." The paladin waits for the creature to wake up and tries to inquire about the ambush and its master, if it has one.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Seems to me with its poison and size, the spider is the more dangerous of the two.

Seeing Tania in trouble, Althamis races across the ground and into the spider's threatened area and slashes the spider with his dagger.

"That's a big spider..." Althamis was glad he was immune to fear.

Althamis smiles at Voyla for getting rid of the flanking buddy, and then armed with his two daggers goes to town on the remaining spider-thing attacking high and low, as he was taught:

Althamis launches one of the MW daggers in his hand at one of the purplish creatures.

Althamis agreed that the corpses should be burned. After all, he did not carry digging supplies with which to bury the corpses. Besides, he could do nothing for the dead band of friends...other than avenge them! After the deed is done, "Let's keep moving, the cult has way too much of a head start on us to begin with!"

How's this for a marching order, if required?

Althamis feels a sense of disgust and bile when he sees the corpses. After confirming that it is a not a trap, he cuts the corpses down with a stoic look on his face. "Poor souls, so young and to have met such an end! The Way will pay for their vileness, I swear it." He looks to the heavens for guidance and the wisdom to understand that he cannot prevent every evil act, as much as he would want to. He breathes deeply, kneels, and says a prayer for the departed souls.

I believe we would need CL 12 Remove Disease scrolls, which cost 900gp each.

Althamis smiles, "Don't be so dramatic, K...you make it sound like the lodge is crawling with WW spies. I am sure they are looking for something in the woods and sought the lodge's historical records for said purpose. We have to get to the woods, investigate the records, and see what's so damn important. Besides, with my holy aura which I cannot and will not mask, there is no way I can hide who or what I am. I will be presenting the letter. We can arrive at different times. The rest of you can go ahead with Kerzan's charade...you're right, no one is being harmed...but I do not see its wisdom."

"I do not understand the need for deception. We have letters of introduction from a prominent Judge and magistrate in the region. I am sure her words will carry significant weight in securing admission to this high class hunting lodge. If not, I am sure Voyla's significant charm, with a little aid from me, will be sufficient to deal with any issues without resorting to lying."

After sufficient time of chatting over tea..."Okay, we can discuss our strategies in dealing with the werewolves later. Let us leave the Judge to rest." Althamis gives the Judge an apologetic look, "Yeah, if you get Kerzan going, he'll talk your ear off...trust us, we know." Althamis smiles, bows before the Judge, and heads out, thanking her for the blessing. If we have time to shop now, we do so. Then we rest in the inn and head toward the Shudderwood in the morning.

16 miles per day if we have a trail so it should take us a little more than 4.5 days to get to the lodge.

Althamis stands and listens to the Judge's words of advice. "We will not let you down, your Honor, and we will watch our backs from dangers from all sides. The Whispering Way is involved in an evil plot, that is obvious and we must prevent it at all costs. We will not fail."

Maybe some silversheen? I have silver daggers but they do 1 point of less damage. Never can have too many Death Ward scrolls.

Althamis listens intently and then follows Voyla and kneels on one knee, "The blade of Iomedae is at your service, your Honor. Undeath is the worse kind of form there is and must be destroyed wherever it is found. You have my services until my dying breath."

I assume it is a Knowledge (Religion) check...
Althamis curses himself for not paying attention in Theology class at the Temple of Iomedae and just stares at the rest of the party. He can feel the stern look of disapproval from the Judge, as he shrinks back in his chair.
