Tattooed Sorcerer Archetype:
Tattooed Sorcerer The tattooed sorcerer uses colorful and intricate tattoos to enhance her magical powers. A tattooed sorcerer has the following class features. Familiar Tattoo (Su) A tattooed sorcerer gains a familiar as an arcane bond, as a wizard equal to her sorcerer level. Her sorcerer levels stack with any wizard or witch levels she possesses when determining the powers of her familiar—this ability does not allow her to have both a familiar and a bonded item. Unlike most familiars, her familiar can transform itself into a tattoo that she carries in her flesh. Transforming into a tattoo or back to normal familiar form is a move action for her familiar. In tattoo form, the familiar looks like a stylized version of itself, but does not count as a creature separate from the tattooed sorcerer. In tattoo form it continues to grant its special familiar ability, but otherwise has no abilities and can take no actions except to transform from tattoo into creature. A familiar tattoo cannot be erased or dispelled. This ability replaces her 1st-level bloodline power. Mage’s Tattoo (Ex) At 1st level, the tattooed sorcerer gains Mage’s Tattoo as a bonus feat. If she doesn’t have Spell Focus, she may choose which school of magic her Mage’s Tattoo enhances. This ability replaces her Eschew Materials bonus feat. Bloodline Tattoos (Ex) Whenever a tattooed sorcerer gains a bloodline spell, a new tattoo manifests on her body to represent this spell. Her bloodline spells are always enhanced by her Mage’s Tattoo feat, even if they don’t match the school to which her Mage’s Tattoo belongs. Create Spell Tattoo (Su) At 7th level, a tattooed sorcerer can create a spell tattoo once per day with a single touch as a standard action. The recipient of the spell tattoo must be willing to receive the spell tattoo. If she gives the spell tattoo to herself, it does not count against the regular limit of magic tattoos she can have. The spell tattoo must be of a spell that she knows that has no material or focus component. She can maintain one spell tattoo created by this ability at a time—if she uses this ability again, the previous spell tattoo she created fades away. Spell tattoos she creates with Inscribe Magic Tattoo do not count against this limit. She can use this ability twice per day at 11th level, and three times per day at 15th level. This ability replaces the bloodline feat gained at 7th level. Enhanced Magical Tattoo (Su) At 9th level, the tattooed sorcerer can pick any one spell she knows for which she has a Mage’s Tattoo feat. This spell must be one that lacks focus components and costly material components. She can now use that spell as a spell-like ability once per day. This spell-like ability is not enhanced by her Mage’s Tattoo, but it functions at +2 caster levels above her sorcerer caster level. Whenever she gains a bloodline power at a later date, she may change this spell-like ability to another qualifying spell. This ability replaces the 9th-level bloodline power.
Dreamspun Bloodline:
Dreamspun Bloodline Your family is a long line of dreamers, who dream not as ordinary mortals do but rather as those who reach through and touch the supernal realm of dreams and the farthest shores of night. Whether it is a gift or curse is not always clear, but your visions of the past and future call you ineluctably to a life of adventure. Class Skill: Sense Motive. Bonus Spells: sleep (3rd), augury (5th), deep slumber (7th), divination (9th), dream (11th), shadow walk (13th), vision (15th), moment of prescience (17th), astral projection (19th). Bonus Feats: Alertness, Blind-Fight, Combat Expertise, Deceitful, Heighten Spell, Improved Feint, Persuasive, Skill Focus (Sense Motive). Bloodline Arcana: Whenever you target a single creature with a spell, you gain an insight bonus equal to half the spell’s level (minimum +1) for 1 round to your AC and saving throws against any spell or attack made by that creature. Bloodline Powers: You reach out into and through the world of dreams to touch the minds and destinies of those around you.
Combat Precognition (Su): Your insight into the future grants you an advantage in combat. At 3rd level and every 4 levels thereafter, you gain a +1 insight bonus on initiative checks.
Eye of Somnus (Sp): At 15th level, you can project your consciousness as if using arcane eye. In addition, at any point you can cause the arcane eye to become visible. The eye can no longer be moved, but it acts as a symbol of sleep to all who see it. You may use this power once per day. Solipsism (Ex): At 20th level, you can drift into the dream world, fading from the world around you. You can become incorporeal for 1 minute per sorcerer level. You gain the incorporeal subtype and take only half damage from corporeal magical attacks (you take no damage from nonmagical weapons and objects). Your spells deal only half damage to corporeal creatures, but spells and abilities that do not deal damage function normally. The duration need not be continuous, but it must be used in 1-minute increments.
Background:
Alise as a child had always tended to daydream, to get lost in memories of former lives and to not focus on the here and now. It was almost as though there were some part of her that was missing, trapped in a past life or in a dream, and she didn't know how to get it back. When she was a teenager, she realized that some of her dreams were coming true, and that she could often see glimpses of the future. Not always in a way where she could stop it or even influence it, but every now and then she could, and she started to really invest in studying her dreams and finding out all she could about her ability. She remembered reading a story at one point about a man whose tattoos came to life, and she connected with that idea, and became a tattoo artist, developing ways that her dreams and magic could combine... determined to use her powers for good and to find ways to help others. She dreamed that she had a familiar well before she even knew that she had magical talent, and later, after her talent had manifested, and her familiar finally found her, she felt really complete for the first time in her life. This newfound wholeness has given her a positive outlook on life, and reinforced her hope and dedication to finding a way to really make a difference. She likes to cook, and she is good at tattoo art, and she loves books... mostly fiction. Anything she can escape into. Facing reality isn't her preferred method of dealing with the world, but she will if she has to... but only temporarily of course.
Appearance/Personality:
Samsarans appear as humans with pale blue skin, solid white eyes with no pupil or iris, and dark hair. A samsaran’s blood is crystal clear, like the water of a pure mountain spring. Alise is definitely a dreamer--idealistic, focused on the possible and hopeful, never the impossible or hopeless. She doesn't even think there is such a thing. She remembers incredible things and knows there are more to come in a never-ending cycle of growth and progression. To people who do not know her she can variously seem flighty or gruff, because she loves to go off on tangents talking about ideas, and if people are negative or shoot down her ideas, asking her to be realistic/rational she often rolls her eyes and starts just giving one-word answers, being "realistic" about what level of conversation they are willing to accept.
