"This shouldn't be too hard", Damocles thought. "I've had far worse back in Absalom..." as he slugged down a shot. 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Slumping over in his chair, his last thought was "Oh. Right. I don't have all my old...."

"Good elf, while that might be true that knowledge can be slow, some have been....gifted....by the gods, gifted with supernatural insight. This gift has come in handy many a time, and I believe it will come in handy again now."

"I hope you don't mind if an old pathfinder pulls up a chair, waits with you all?"

Damocles places an impressive bag of Pathfinder Chronicles down. "I figured these might come in handy, they're a collection on political processes and land grants both here and abroad. They might give us some guidance on the process."

I'm tired, Damocles thought. Tired of the endless missions. Tired of the lies. The fighting. The nasty dark underbelly of the society few have seen. After that affair with the Decemvirate, even the promotion to Seeker doesn't mean much. But what to do with my life? All I've done for decades is preserve history and try to push back the darkness. And for all my efforts, the world is still a terrible place, dark and full of evil.

No more shall I preserve the past. No more shall I do the bidding of the Society. I may be a Seeker, but what I seek is the chance to build. To create a space of my own, to find those like me who want a better future. A place of equality and security in the midst of the darkness. Not Andoran, full of its petty squabbles between corporate owned politicians, certainly.

Perhaps the River Kingdoms. The turnover rate for the governing bodies is high, and the people value their freedoms. Perhaps a place that provides both freedom and security would be of interest? Yes...in the River Kingdoms, I shall find others who share my dream. A dream of a Bright Haven upon a hill, filled with people who protect and care for one another. Perhaps, in time, my children will venture forth to join me. And together, we will defend our brethren in mind and body.

So once my society wizard hits 11th, I plan on snagging true name. It seems this is legal for society, and my question is how have others treated this in society play? The biggest prize seems to be the Glabrezu for 11th level, so I would love to take that, barring an alignment problem....thoughts?

That is assuming I am not forced to take..."corrective measures" against you, for repeatedly consorting with demons. Do not bring more agents of chaos and destruction to this plane.

Yes, I have characters that start with 20s.

I think (hope) that we're all pretty much in violent agreement. Buying a stat of 20 has significant drawbacks as well as significant advantages. And those drawbacks are likely to be accentuated with inexperienced players.

Experienced players know what they`re doing and understand the tradeoffs. When they build a character with a Cha of 20 and a Con of 10 they're aware
of the weak points. Weak points that will be mitigated by good and cautious play. They know that the character might well die because of the decisions that they made and are comfortable with that.

What I really cringe to see is the sorcerer created by a new player. The one with a Cha of 20, Con of 10, who does NOT stay in the back where it is (comparatively) safe. I've seen first level sorcerers engage in melee combat.

I resemble this remark. Fortunately, I had a strength of 18 and enlarge person active, as well as a number of buff spells. Why, did I ever tell you about the time I slew a wight with two swift swings of my blade?

Hmm? Was I mentioned?

Truly a disturbing event. I already have my own score to settle with the Lissalan church after events in Magnimar. I assure you, none shall be more devoted in rooting out these degenerates than I. None.

It would seem the situation in Varisia is indeed most dire, both for the Society and for the various..."factions" therein. In the coming days, I shall do my utmost to ensure success for those who depend on me.

Alexander Damocles sighed. "Once again, those Hellknights forget the founding of their order was dedicated to law and law alone. I have known many a Hellknight during my days, ranging from a former rogue to a very devout Paladin of the Holy Light. Would that these Hellknights in the River Kingdoms remember that Hellknights are interested in serving the law, and may do so for whatever goals they might be. Personal glory, wealth, a belief that law is the best safeguard against corruption, whatever their purpose is, as long as it furthers the Law, they should be acceptable to the Order."

I simply don't understand these allegations being waved about. Every team I have ever been sent on has proved to be quite cohesive and effective. Well. There *was* that time in Rahadoum with Princess Isis, come to think of it. Abadar preserve us, that was a mess. Fortunately, once I got my feet underneath me again, we were able to finish the job, even if the cleric was busy moping about in the back.

I myself am capable with sword, spells, and books. Why are other Pathfinders capable of such versatility?

I believe this dispute must be resolved by a cook off. I shall, of course, be the impartial judge. Upon what date shall I set this challenge?

Cook off? Cookin' what? They's both claimin' to be powerful mages. Me think they should have ta fight livin' dragons by themselves er somethin' ta settle it. So if ya mean who can cook a live dragon fastest, then that could be fun ta watch.

Thorne makes absolutely wonderful cookies. I highly suspect he in fact uses magic during their creation.

Now, I like your idea better however. I'll balance the point spread between speed of kill and the taste of the finished dish.

Good sir, he has cookies. Magically good cookies.

I'm taking 20 on Linguistics to decipher this. I'll get back to you guys with the result in about...20 minutes.

Its a penguin, blowing Grandmaster Brock a kiss. Come now, haven't you read the 53rd Edition of "Fauna of Golarion: An Expert's Guide"? The natives of the land observed such behavior and began to use the symbol (or the act) to indicate extreme happiness towards an individual.

Just *what* are they teaching these initiates these days...

I would like to see places of worship for Calistria, or the option to build said places of worship. Maybe even a option to find staff for them. ^_^

What?! Don't you dare judge me.

As long as such places of "worship" are properly regulated and legal in the town they are established in, I have no objections to such a facility, even if I choose to not avail myself of their "services".

If only my finances were not so depleted, I would happily go and chronicle the proceedings. Alas, that venture to Rahadoum has left my markedly penniless.

This happens to me all the time. Just a little stress, and all of a sudden, I'm speaking celestial to everyone. It works great....until no one understands me...

Why does everyone forget the poor Gnomes?

Oh, I remember gnomes alright...they fit great in a birdcage on my hip! They make for great friends, and they cast spells so you don't have to! Alexander Damocles, the Holy Librarian of Abadar, and Sarai, Pathfinder team extraordinaire!

Oh, by the grace of Abadar himself, is that a loaf of Andoran Truffle-bread?! Why, I've only rumors of such a confection, how much for a loaf? I simply *must* try it and add it to my collection of knowledge. Although I do seem to be short of gold. Perhaps, ahh, a story, or some long lost recipe? I'm sure I know something of interest to you...
