To be totally honest for this type of AP (originally Carrion Crown) I had an Aasimar Oracle of Life who's backstory (her father was a dying Deva and not an elf)I shoe horned into this character.
The goal was for her inner darkness to grow or wane based on the way the campaign went and her interactions with the party. She would have multiclass ed into Paladin or Monk if things went to the light, or the darker path towards Witch with a darker patron gradually embracing her mother's nature. I didn't want to infringe on Mr. Clint's vision for his game by asking for a race outside his specifications or possibly an archetype from an outside source as well. I love the 15 point buy and I love the creation rules (there's too much splat out there that feels OP) in general. I'm just not a huge fan of my choice of character here and I would want to be totally invested, anything else would be an injustice to Mr. Clint and the group. I love Gothic horror as well as Lovecraft themes, I'll keep thinking about a different concept until the deadline date and possibly throw a hat back in. I'll definitely be reading along even if I'm not in the game as the genre is in my wheel house. Sorry for the wall o'text. Good luck and happy gaming. :)
Greetings Mr. Clint! Submitting this character for your perusal. This particular concept was originally built for Carrion Crown and intended to become a Dex-based Paladin later. I'm not yet sure what alignment I will settle on before play if selected, but I'll likely multiclass into something later. This could possibly be Paladin or maybe even Witch if some dark patron reaches out to me ;). I'll let the campaign unfold and see where I go from there.
I haven't been in a pbp in a long time, let alone a PF game (my group has moved to 5e), so a bit of rust maybe present, but I'll read up if chosen. My pbp experience playing Meraxilar Zoon, a chaotic Cleric of Rovagug.
I hear good things about this AP. I humbly submit this character for your consideration. Basically now a DEX-based, fallen from grace Fighter that was supposed to be a Paladin. I may multiclass into Paladin (as originally intended) or sink into something else like entirely, depending on how her development unfolds during the campaign (Bard Dervish Dancer is a strong contender).

<---- Sunderstone/Meraxilar Tark, I have this fallen (i.e. non-working Pally abilities) dex-based Paladin available for skull and shackles. It was created for Carrion Crown but the pbp fizzled out at the beginning. I can change part of my history/traits to accommodate S&S if it's not too late to apply. Late Edit*** I should add I know nothing of S&S. I havent had time to even open the last UPS delivery (part 3 was it?). I downloaded the player's guide but also never got around to reading it yet.

Alessa carefully enters the grounds at the broken wall near the front gates. She remains wary as she approaches the main building as she glances over the prison from a distance looking for the fallen gargoyle that was said to have killed the Professor. As she gets closer, she returns her arrow to its quiver and stows her bow in favor of her rapier.

As the group approaches Harrowstone, Alessa has her bow at the ready with an arrow half-nocked. "We should circle the outside of the ruin first before we enter. I'd like to examine the area where the Professor was killed first, if that would be acceptable to all."

Adding to Shanoa's statement, "I have also overheard similar sentiments from Gibs, the instigator from the funeral, when we were talking to the sheriff. If the townsfolk see us heading to Harrowstone, it will only add to their distrust of us."

"My last name begins with the same letter, Kendra. If we go by the assumption it was meant for Vesorianna, that would be her first name, would it not? Do we know if the Splatter Man used initials of the first or last name? I would also like to know how long after leaving the initial of the victim behind, did he commit the murder."
Female Elf Fighter 1 - Init +3|AC 17/13/14|HP 11|FORT +2, REF +4, WILL +1
"I did not attack anything, Xavian. I even agreed to your "adventure terminology". I merely found your excitement to be foolhardy. So let us leave it at that. As for your Splatter Man lore, it could indeed be his spirit, but I disagree with Cassandra about Vesorianna. If the Splatter Man were to begin anew, this letter would be the first in spelling out the name of a live victim to be murdered. Why spell out the name of someone already dead? Perhaps someone in town has a name beginning with the same letter."

"The Pharasman in me would not refer to our task as an adventure, Xavian. As other short lived races, Humans can often be brash and foolhardy in that manner, I suppose. By the Lady of Graves, I pray your "exciting adventure" doesn't become a harrowing or fatal one for us all. If the dead are indeed restless at Harrowstone, we must set things right, for the villagers as well as the Professor.

Once the party is on the road to Kendra's and out of earshot of anyone else, Alessa reveals her own suspicions. "What if the Whispering Way is still here? The letter written in blood seems ritualistic to me. The cultists also might have agents hidden among the townsfolk. Kendra, is there anyon else in Ravengro that might be able to tell us more about this cult? Perhaps a Sage or other learned scholar?"
Female Elf Fighter 1 - Init +3|AC 17/13/14|HP 11|FORT +2, REF +4, WILL +1
Alessa eventually makes her way back to the others as they discuss the incident with Ravengro's sheriff. She listens intently but stays silent as she keeps watch for anyone behaving suspiciously.

Alessa walks in the door with the rest. "It is good to see you again, Kendra. We were successful in finding the tools Professor Lorrimor mentioned in his message. Father Grimburrow should also be pleased that we left the crypt in good order."

"Perhaps one the Professor's books might shed some light on that box. It doesn't look like there's anything left to do here, we should keep moving."

"I have no way to determine how long ago these skeletons were animated nor have I been able to track any footprints in this crypt. My theory of this Whispering Way's involvement stems from the fact that they dabble in the darker arts, and it is not Pharasman practice to keep undead servitors in one of their crypts. It merely makes the most sense until we find out more.

"That will be fine,Shanoa. If no one objects, I'd like one of the healing droughts as well." Alessa stows six of the Silver Arrows, the five Ghost Touch arrows, and the two Undead Bane arrows into her quiver. She removed 13 of her mundane arrows from her quver to make room. After wrapping the mundane arrows in her bedroll, she places the bundle neatly into her pack. The potion of healing goes into a side pocket on the pack.

Alessa accepts her share of the arrows from Shanoa (how many magical arrows are there, Scar?). "Thank you Shanoa, I'll be sure to put them to good use." Alessa moves the skeletal remains back to their alcoves hopig that she remembers correctly which skeleton belongs in which alcove. When she is finished, she mutters a brief prayer to Pharasma to return the undead to their rest.

DM Scarogoth wrote: Sorry, didn't mean to suggest an order of posting, just wanted to recap whose initiatives would be next. Oh sorry, thought you were trying to get us posting in initiative order. :) Also, hope I wasn't out of line switching to a mace for skel bashing without a knowledge check. I figured Paladins would have some know how with the weakest undead like zombies and skeletons.

Dealing with Skeletons, Alessa switches to her light mace and attacks the nearest on. Pharasma guide my hand in dispatching these abominations.
isnt it easier to just wait for everyone's posted actions and just summarize the effects based on the initiative order?

Her rapier at the ready, Alessa slowly creeps toward the sarcophagus (moving to B6). Using the torchlight, she watches the shadows for signs of movement as she moves.
It appears my elven stalking is Abit rusty. :)

"I agree with Xavian. The dead should not have to share their resting place with vermin either. These particular centipedes were somewhat large too."

I took the lead going down but saw everyone else down there with me on the tactical map. Shanoa's post confused me because she lit a lantern after hearing the noise, then descended. I'm assuming she heard the noise at the bottom of the steps.

Alessa moves slowly, cautiously looking around as she makes her way toward the stairs. The lock was made to look unopened from the outside, I hope the tools we seek are still here in some hidden cache. I dislike disturbing a spirit's rest as it is.

Alessa pulls her shortbow and begins to check the perimeter of the mausoleum for any other signs of intruders. She moves cautiously around the structure but stops short of going behind it and out of view of the group.

"I apologize for my suspicions, Kendra." Alessa's look softens as she walks over. "You should not feel obligated to keep your father's friends as overnight guests if it makes you uncomfortable. A home is supposed to be where one feels safe, and you are wise not to trust so easily. I can stay at an Inn if that will allow you to sleep easier, I would not be offended." Alessa smiles at Kendra with sincerity.
