Akari kneels down by Lysanthir as he listens to Gabriel. His eyes a soft contrast to the seemingly stone faced expression he wore. "Of course. Go then, gods willing your ride be swift and safe. I will tend to things here and will not be far behind." He then lightly brushes his fingers over Lysanthir's brow. His eyes fall on the black, feather quill clutched in her hand before he stands and extends his arm to Gabriel. -Posted with Wayfinder
Akari's eyes open as he wakes. They survey his surroundings before he pushes himself from the ground with a sigh and he sets his gaze on Lysanthir, then onto Gabriel with a nod. "Has her condition changed?" He'll ask softly as he walks over to kneel beside Lysanthir.
Akari slowly and quietly goes into his pack and fetches his blanket, which he then unravels and covers Lysanthir as delicately as he could so as not to wake her. Then, he stands and puts a hand on Gabriel's shoulder with a comanionable squeeze. "Get some rest yourself, I can watch over her until you wake. You will need it to take proper care of her as she recovers. You both will need it." -Posted with Wayfinder
Akari hides his grimace behind a concerned smile and removes his sword from his back, holding it by his side as he sets down first on one knee, then the other until he finally lays beside her. "I'll wait as long as it takes." His gaze shifts to the sky above them, as if his eyes could pierce the dark and the smoke to meet another's gaze. "The ground could be a little softer, eh?"
"I-I'm not sure. It looked like a man, but it was more than that. Obviously, with a pumpkin for a head, but yeah. Its flesh seared when I cut it with my blade." Akari looks on while herbs and poultices are applied, one hand fidgeting at his side while the other itched for the hilt of his blade. His eyes are set and focused, and his expression twisted with a grimace. "Lys? Talk to us. Tell me about your next experiment." -Posted with Wayfinder
Akari sighs, and straps his blade over his shoulder. "The creature has been destroyed, though it nearly had the best of us. If it wasn't for our friends here-" He indicates Ari and Asura with a wave of his hand. "And their timely arrival, we might not have made it." "How are things here? "Thank you both, again." "Stay close." Akari turns and joins Gabriel close by his side; his now sheathed sword held firmly in his hand. While his eyes scan the night around them his gaze returns every so often to Lysanthir to gauge her condition. -Posted with Wayfinder
Akari looks to the furred folk, eyes glazed as if out of focus. "I know not what business brought you here, but you have our thanks. Will you come with us to town? I'll treat you all to a round of drinks once I'm sure Lysanthir has been taken care of."
Breathing heavily and clutching his side, Akari rises precariously to his feet. As he does he chuckles, then laughs. "Yes, I suppose it was. Akari is my name. Thank you for your timely aid." He says before laughing again and walking over to where Lysanthir laid upon the ground. "How is it, Gabriel?" Indicating Lysanthir's wound with a more serious tone and a nod.

"Of course." He says, stowing the potion away with a grateful nod. "I would not leave you in your time of need when you have been good to us." "Have the people shut themselves in in their homes. If they have no home, send them to the churches. Post patrols and have them watch the village borders and the streets until our return." "You will have your vengeance. Justice will be done." Turning to his companions, he takes a brief moment to assess their current state. "Shall we be off, then?" -Posted with Wayfinder
'A green flame..' He thought to himself, ponderous. Pocketing the curious jewel somewhere it would be safe on his person, Akari does his best to hide his grimace. "Just a bruise." He would reply, with a hint of humor in his voice. "It will heal." When the group arrives back in town, Akari approaches the nearest person that seemed the most coherent. "What happened here? Did everyone get out before the fire took?"
Breathing heavily, Akari clutches at his chest as he takes a brief moment to catch his breath. He takes his first steps back toward the village as his eyes catch that same glint of steel hidden amongst the scarecrow. Curious, he bends to his knee and searches for any sign of a trap before digging it out.
He will then stand again and begin to make his way back to the village, careful as to not worsen his wounds on the way. "We should hurry, it sounds as if trouble has found the villagers as well."
I love power attack.. mmm mmm.. *licks fingers* so sweet, lol
Trusting his back to his allies, Akari continues his assault on the viney creature, slashing hard where it seemed they wanted to cover and reinforce.
Much concussed, very hurt, Akari sways on his feet as if he were to fall but manages to remain standing. His vision blurring momentarily before he notices the monstrosity falling back on its heels. So to speak. He'd nearly taken the step to follow, but having been on death's door two too many times in recent days, hesitation found its way into Akari's heart. He quickly scanned over his allies, and made a choice. He steps forward, deciding that giving the creature no respite when it appeared to be on the defensive was best and slashed again at the coiling vines.
Akari lunges low, past gabriel and brings his blade up to slash at the vines.

Exasperation and boredom mark Akari's face as he looks about the 'clearing'. Each passing moment gnawing at his nerves and his patience.
Growing impatient and a bit angry, Akari walks forward and begins to approach the scarecrow, drawing his blade as he walked. "I've no time nor the patience for these games." When he's within reach of the body, he will attempt to turn it about with his foot so that the face is turned skyward.
Sighing with some exasperation, Akari settles on his feet and holds the rear as suggested. His dominant hand held up over his shoulder, ready to unsheathe wrath upon whatever may lurk in the mists.
Akari looks to Raafe, astonished. "It's a sad, and disturbing thing that this came as no surprise to you, regardless of what you may have heard in the forest." "I think we should leave the talking to the village leaders. We're strangers here, after all and our arrival has been, coincidental in its timing."
Shari lights one of his torches as he steps outside to see the moon. Thoughts of the night he was driven from his home playing before his eyes, holds the torch ahead of him and cautiously approaches the man to inspect the body. Unless he sees anything that would indicate something strange under clothing, he does not touch anything and scans the body with his eyes.

Having satisfied his curiosities as best he could, he would look around the town a bit, checking out what was available for merchant wares and other trade goods before heading to meet Gabriel and the others.

Now let's see what I can learn here, if anything. How do I ask if the elven woman we met before was relative to the goddess or simply named after her without seeming.. ignorant? Even though I am.
Akari would similarly seek out any of Aleria's clergy, before asking anyone else. To whomever he should find, he says.. "I've only recently learned of your goddess on my travels. Could you tell me a little about her? Her history, or what is known?" -Posted with Wayfinder

With the silent prayer, he bids Njord and any else who notice him farewell, on his way now to the Church of Aleria to possibly sate his curiosity. The answer fell short of what he had been looking for, but it may be his questions that were short, or wrong. "If you mean do I worship, then the answer is no. He had heard this from their conversation with Cedric, but he listened politely. His eyes roamed the Church on occasion but not so much as to be rude. He couldn't help shake the coincidence of meeting a woman who had gone by the name Aleria in the previous village. There had seemed to have been more to her, but, perhaps he was simply over thinking things. "Njord, his symbol is the cloud-obscured sun. His powers are over the weather? What are his ideals, his tenets? Do either of them show themselves to their followers?" He was struggling, he knew and suspected she could see that, to ask a question without causing offense. He wanted to know why these people would put their hopes and trust their prosperity to some God. -Posted with Wayfinder
"A visit to each won't hurt me. Tell the others I'll be back before sundown." Akari will then go first into the Church marked by the rain cloud. The tempestous nature of a storm appealed to him, as did the power of the sun. Inside:
He would first look for anyone churchlike. A priest, or something similar. If none could be found he would simply ask anyone present. "Greetings. I'm afraid I'm a stranger to these parts, and your gods are unknown to me. Who is your patron? And to who does the other church venerate?" -Posted with Wayfinder

Akari turns to nod to Gabriel and follows him out, apologizing to and thanking Cedric for his hospitality. Gabriel: He would follow silently, letting Gabriel lead the conversation and eventually seats himself beside him. "I rarely pretend. I'm no good at it. And I'll never pretend to know much when it comes to, well, much. My attack on Avdol was not borne from eagerness, as you say, but of preemptive action and resolve. A resolve that I had burned into myheart and mind when I lost everyone that I knew and loved in one fell swoop." "I cannot say much about visions. I haven't truly wanted to believe much of what we've experienced. It was too bizarre, for me to believe any of it. I know what I have seen. I know what I have heard. I do not know how or why." "I mean not to distract from your concerns, only to perhaps hear my convictions for myself. I can be out there, sometimes. But Avdol was insane, a constant risk. A risk I was no longer willing to keep taking when lives were on the line."

Seemingly content with the answer after a moment of consideration, Akari asks, "So when is this festival and where do we sign up? Assuming we find an event we'd like to participate in?"
He'll nod to the guard in response and walk right by as if that wouldn't be a problem. Inside the Sleeping Siren, Akari admires the furnishings and the general atmosphere here and took a second to scent the air.
The way the guy was talking seemed a bit odd, but there's obviously nothing wrong. I mean, he's an innkeep. What could possibly be wrong? "What's this main prize? And what are the events like?"
Alright then. If they don't want to talk about it.. At the guards greeting, Akari dips into a light bow. "Thank you. My name is Akari. Are there any laws or anything else we should be aware of before we patron your shops and drink your ale?" -Posted with Wayfinder

Akari's brows furrow, eyes narrow to near slits and he bites his bottom lip. His tone is contemplative, and confused. "A woman's voice, it was.. unfamiliar but gentle. Soothing." He would then pause as if he had more to say but has lost the words, looking around for himself to check his surroundings, as if he'd missed something.

I have yet to wake from my nightmare. He thought silently to himself, but he stowed away the map in his pack for later inspection and held out his hand for the mayor to shake if he pleased. "I'm glad for those families that are together and whole again, and all have my sympathy. If I am ever in the area again, I will be sure to visit." -Posted with Wayfinder
Not having got the most restful sleep, he could only begin to symathize with him, but Akari's appreciation was true as he accepted the map and briefly looked it over. "Thank you, we will use it well. How fare the people? They've been through a lot." -Posted with Wayfinder
"I can't see anything in this rain. Rest sounds like the better option. " 'Though I don't know if I could possibly sleep after that.' He stood up, stretching out as best he could and walked over to settle down on the floor by the wall. His pack beside him he pulled out a blanket and draped it over his shoulders. His sword was still in his hands, resting across his knees. His eyes were locked on the hilt and seemed to have a few things on his mind. But mostly, he looked lost. -Posted with Wayfinder

Akari let's his shoulders relax and he stretches, letting his feet fall to the floor as he turned in his seat and stood. He was a bit more stiff than he expected. "At first, I wasn't sure if it had worked. But then I noticed everything was frozen in place. I'd gone outside, and the raindrops hovered still in place too. Then I heard a voice, that came to me as a whisper from all around me." He then does his best to emulate the voice as he repeats the phrase, "Ti Zitas." Looking to each of the others for any kind of recognition before going on... Then.. I.. I was home." "Everything was as it was when I had lived there. I ran to my masters home in the hope that I could see him as everyone else seemed alive and well. But I was too late." "Then I was somewhere else again. Some kind of temple where I met three women dressed in dark robes. She, or they, referred to Her as the Lady of Fates. I sunk down into a pool of blood, and it turned to darkness." "I then found myself standing upon her palm. She knew why I was there, but barely gave me an answer." His grimace returned in full force that, as his hand reaches out to grasp his sword, resting still where he had left it, smoothed again and was slightly more relaxed as his fingers coiled around the holy and brought it to rest against his chest as if hugging it. -Posted with Wayfinder
His heart raced and his eyes frantically scanned his surroundings. He struggled to take back his usual calm when he realizes he was around friends and allies. Long moments pass as he fights his roiling emotions and his breathing and heart slow to a normal rate, though his eyes remained a bit wider than usual. He remains mostly still throughout this, but does raise an arm to slowly wipe away the blood from his mouth with a grimace and looks to Lysanthir. "Perhaps that should wait until our friend Raff here lowers his weapon." His gaze shifts to his own weapon and a mixture of longing and curiosity lift the grimace from his lips. -Posted with Wayfinder
