So, I just started running my player's through "The Inferno Gate", and when they received their new orders from Fex they asked the painfully obvious question. "Why can't Razelago just teleport to your townhouse in Senara to grab the phegmatic talisman and bring it back?" [Also, to themselves "What!? We've killed several good outsiders already! You couldn't have told us you needed their hearts before?"] Fex's real reason is that he wants the PC's out of his hair for as long as possible while he makes his final preparations for the ritual.

I had actually anticipated this and so was ready for Fex/Razelago to handwave the player's question with, "We tried already and the GR has safeguards in place against evil outsiders teleporting into the area." I thought this was reasonable given the GR's knowledge of and proximity to the Gate itself, as well as any paranoia of Thrune attacking through the use of summoned devils. That said, I'd recommend coming up with your own reason as, "Because then the first act of the adventure can't take place," seems insufficient. Other possibilities may include that Razelago is playing his own game in anticipation of Fex's downfall or that Fex wants more on the ground information about Senara since he intends to conquer it himself (though obviously he wouldn't tell the players that).

This is why I hate teleportation.

I open this thread to other instances of glaring workarounds to obstacles within the AP.

The following is a collection of music I plan on using to set the mood for my players during the Carrion Crown adventure path, and I'd like to share it with all of you. This is not meant as a comprehensive list, it's just what I'll be using myself.

While you're welcome to comment as you like, I'm not really looking for any more suggestions. If you ARE looking to post music suggestions for this AP, F. Wesley Schneider has a great thread on just that subject going on right here, which has been a great help and inspiration for this list. My thanks to Wes and everyone else who has or will add more to that thread.

I'll post additional lists as new CC installments are released and time allows.

The format for the lists are as follows:
Scene: Artist - Song (Source if nessassary)

Enjoy.

Is it just me, or is there a Donnie Darko reference in the Guide to the Multiverse? Specifically, the translucent cords radiating from the torsos of those who enter the doorway in the Dimension of Time.

I'd be interested in other references or points of inspiration people have found in other paizo products. I've got a bunch more myself (names, national identities, character idioms) but I'd like to hear from you all too.

Hello all. Wanted to get some feedback on a new rule I'm thinking of implementing in my games. I've already changed to the spell point system from Unearthed Arcana for magic because, much as I love D&D, I absolutely hate the current cast and forget system. After reading through the Expanded Psionics Handbook, where manifesters can dump power points into a power to augment it, I was thinking about taking the spell points a step further. The idea is to eliminate the need to take the normal PHB metamagic feats, simply making them available to anyone who is willing to burn the spell points necessary to activate the feat. There will still be a cap on how much you can put into a single spell(= to their caster level). While I'm not terribly worried about the escalation this rule might cause (after all, the bad guys will be able to do it too), I am worried about the balance between classes. Will this make casters way too powerful compared to rouges and fighters? Love to hear your comments and thoughts. Thanks.

Hullo everyone. I just started running the SCAP. My players are still in Jzadirune. Before I get much futher I wanted to get some input one the cagewrights. Is seems to me that the only one of them that the PC's have any contact with until Thirteen Cages is Thifirane and to a small extent, Fetor. Now, I certainly appreciate having a mysterious group behind the scenes pulling the strings, but I feel like the group should have a little more exposure to the group before they fight them. That way it's not just, "Oh, hey that guy we just killed had a cage around his neck,""Hmm, he must have been a cagewright...what a bastard." I may be wrong cause I haven't read the whole path in detail. Any advice on giving the party more (non-combat) encounters with the cagewrights? Maybe the Demonscar ball or something?

Oh yeah, and any info on the Ur-Flan would be great too.

I was trying to divide the human greyhawk dieties into their different pantheons. Bakunish, Suel, Oeridian, and Flan; the Rhenee don't seem to have their own gods, then again I could be wrong hence this post. I'm using the gazeteer. these are the gods that I couldn't place.

An official answer would be great, but any help is appreciated. Thanks

In the Three Faces of Evil, the adventure background says that the faceless one origionally came upon the name of Kyuss and the Way of the Ebon Triad in a tome called the Nethertome of Trask. Does he still have it? It's not mentioned anywhere else in the adventure, but I think it would add some great color for the PC's to find it after the defeat of the Faceless One. Opinions? I'm kind of 50/50 right now cause I don't want to give the player's to much info at this point, but the adventure seems to allude that the Nethertomb contains many other things besides just secrets of the Age of Worms.

If a critter already has class abilites and I add additional levels of the same class, do they stack or overlap?
Example: an old bronze dragon casts spells as a 11th lvl sorcerer. I add 3 sorcerer lvls. Does it now cast as a 14th lvl sorcerer?

How many commoners (aka sword fodder) are there in the Hextorian section of the temple in TFoE? The petitioners hoping to join the order. I've been searching and the adventure doesn't seem to have a numer listed for them. Am I just missing it? If not, any suggestions as to how many I should have? I'm thinking 10-12.

This may be a dumb question, and changing the rule would certainly make this campaign more deadly, but why is the Int damage from Kyuss worms temporary when they are apparently eating your brains. Far as I know, that stuff don't grow back.
