Thanks Mr. Fortis! You're looking rather statuesque yourself :D Metal shirts or no shirts at all! Especially in this heat. Really, I don't see what the big deal is. I mean, that's how all the women back where I grew up dressed. My father just seemed to take it for granted, but they were his concubines. A lot of the boys around the complex seemed to go to great lengths to try to get in though. They were so easily amused, it was a bit sad really. Anyway, they don't seem to mind too much around here, and it certainly brought in the tips at the tavern. When I wasn't spilling the drinks all over people. And we might stand a chance hearing this hullabaloo, as long as we're not too far away. DC to hear the sounds of battle is in the negatives :I

Bois Guilbert wrote: I personally don't think going back in to talk to the Tiefling is a good idea. 1) He looked like he was going to go somewhere. By the time I go back to talk to Aishara and Valerie about it, he'll be gone. 2) I burst into his house uninvited. Thats never a good thing, he might be a bit angry. Well if he does end up coming out, we can try to judge it from there.

Aishara responds with a quick and forceful "YES," while shooting Summer a dirty look. Her expression then lightens a bit and she adds, "But don't head into the doors until we can head in together. I'd rather we not split everyone up in these strange lands. It would not be easy to protect our charges if we get separated."

"Well if it comes to it, Valerie, I bet you and I could do a pretty good job of talking them down. But it doesn't seem like there's anything to be done by just standing here, so what say we do a bit of exploring?" Aishara will offer Valerie her own hand and start walking down the street to the left at a walk, in as non-threatening a manner as possible.

Wow, I completely missed this whole thread. Sorry to hear that, Zack, certainly take all the time you need. I've been having a good time with this so far, and am more than willing to chill here. I'm definitely all for a heaping amount of in-character interaction and whatnot. Certainly beats the roll-playing campaigns. That said, I'm certainly not aiming to weird anyone out here, myself included. Found a cool item in the Advanced Race Guide that I think Aishara would be all sorts of into: Fire Ink (in the ifrit section). Permanent tattoo of Sarenrae that glow as a candle for 10 GP, or torch for 40 GP.

Aishara hustles into the garden and trots up to the gathering while taking in the spectacle. She's wearing billowing red silk pants, familiar from the day before, but this time accompanied by an old but polished breastplate and more flowing silks, including an ornamented headdress. A silver statuette of an angelic woman hangs at her waist from a small pack and a falcata hangs from the opposite hip. There's a large wooden shield slung across her back and a spring in her step as she approaches. She waves to the folks she met yesterday and then offers the dwarves a curtsy. "Hello everyone! I'm Aishara. I'm so excited to be helping you out on your pilgrimage, and I'll be doing my best to make sure that no harm befalls you, and to patch you up afterwards if by chance I fail at the first."

"Akbar, I know I've only been here a day, but I really feel like I might be more use out there with these folk than staying here and serving drinks. You've got plenty of girls here who can actually get a tray to their customers without spilling it, with much more experience and significantly larger...tip potential. I'm better with a sword than a drink tray anyway, and on a personal note I'm curious to see how another fire god compares to the Healing Flame of Sarenrae."

Aishara leads Akbar back to the group, carrying another tray of drinks and walking a bit more carefully through the crowd in an attempt not to spill them all over the place again, despite the wet tray. "Gentlemen, Miss Valerie, your drinks. And may I introduce Akbar, he has something to discuss with you." I will assume, of course, that IT'S A TRAP :D

Aishara nods fervently to Fortis and then addresses Valerie and Summer. "Oh, that' so wonderful for both of you! I'm very grateful for the gifts Sarenrae has graced me with, but I think that what's most important is what you and I do with our gifts, and who we can help." At Summer's interjection, she bites her lip concernedly and looks back towards the bar. "Oh my, I get so swept up about these things. Let me go get you some more drinks, gentlemen, miss." She starts to jostle her way back through the crowd.

Her duties momentarily forgotten, Aishara begins to extol the virtues of her patron deity, complete with sweeping gestures and an incredible, radiant smile. "Sarenrae? Sarenrae is the light of the sun, the Dawnflower. Her radiance is healing; it's life itself! Her light can burn away the greatest of maladies, of both body and soul. It can break through the vilest black heart and fill it thereafter with love and hope. She is all of this, and she has blessed me with the power to bring a small part of this light to those who are in need of it. That, and the strength of arms to oppose those who would seek to corrupt and destroy." She heaves a visibly contented sigh at the end of her speech.

"Yes sir, I was a bit of an adventurer myself but I curiosity got the best of me with some sort of ancient relic, therewas a bright flash, and when I woke up I was stranded here. I guess you could say I'm somethinng of a healer and a crusader in the light of Sarenrae.

Aishara covers herself as best she can with the tray, now that the drinks are off of it. "Oh, yeah, sorry, the dress code here is a bit more...liberal than back home. Personally I'd be a lot more comfortable with my armor strapped on and my sword at my hip, but it brings customers in I guess, and I heard that this'd be THE place to meet up with the type of people who might actually be able to get me out of this city and maybe back home. And, well, I've gotta survive in the meantime, so here I am, serving you gentlemen drinks and talking yours ears off."

A young woman dressed like the other waitresses with a round face, light brown olive skin, and dark brown hair stumbles up to the table from out of the crowd, carrying a wet tray of now half-full iced drinks. She starts to hand them out. "Hello gentlemen, you ordered some drinks? I'm terribly sorry for spilling, it's only my first day here, but could you please not tell the bartender? I can come right back with some new ones. It's been a bit rough for me in this city so far, and I've only been here a few days. Actually, you gentlemen don't really seem to be from around here yourselves. What brings you to the City of Brass? I'm Aishara, by the way."
No, the other character's a rather dour zen archer monk. She really wouldn't have any bearing on the campaign, I'm just kind of babbling at this point. Should make for at least a moderately plausible backstory once I've got the time to write it up, with the added bonus of making my other character more interesting to play too. Score! |
