I loved Planescape: Torment, and have always wanted to play a Planescape campaign.

Character concept:

Name: Ofir of the Opaline Vault
Race: Oread (half Shaitan genie/half human)
Alignment: True Neutral
Class: Spellsword/Eldrich Knight(Fighter 1/Wizard (Transmuter) 5/EK 2)

Basic Backstory (to be fleshed out if chosen):

The bastard son of his Shaitan father's relationship with a human slave girl, Ofir was raised to be a guard for one of his father's caravans of precious gemstones mined from the Plane of Earth. Ofir was a respected member of the caravan, and all was well until a trip to the Elemental Plane of Air to trade gems with the Djinn in exchange for a mystical book of knowledge.

During the trade, Ofir laid eyes on the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. A djinn girl, the daughter of the Noble Djinn buyer. Ofir tried to talk to her, and she flirted with him sweetly, but let him know that she only had eyes for other Djinn. Ofir, however, stubborn as the stone coursing through his blood, was not dissuaded. He determined then and there that he would win her hand, and to do so, he needed to be a Djinn.

After the sale was done and the caravan was traveling between planes, Ofir stole the book of knowledge, abandoned the only family he had ever known, and fled to Sigil. He studied the book, sold it and bought more magical texts, all in a quest to find some way that he could change himself into his true love's desire.

Ofir now sells his services as a mercenary spellsword to the highest bidder, both in Sigil and for trips to the various planes, all to pay for his research. He has not seen his true love since that fateful day three year ago, but pines for her still.

Will Ofir ever succeed in becoming a Djinn?
Are there things more important than this dream, or will he pay any price to achieve it?
Will he ever be happy with who he is?
Will he ultimately realize that while he can change his body, he can't change his nature?
