About Aeson

Description
Although his leg is deformed from a poorly healed wound and drags in a limp, Aeson, son of Ajax, descendant of Tartarus itself stands impossibly tall and broad, towering over lesser men, even over most heroes. His beard is too long to quite be civilized, although not nearly of the magnitude of those worn by the savage tribesmen of the north. He is clad in the furs of the most fearsome beasts to walk the world and a gleaming breastplate bearing images of battles against fearsome monsters all of them fought by Aeson himself and worthy of legend. Always close at hand is his mighty axe, Kratophagos, in its own right worthy of a thousand epics. Drink with me and hear my story! he calls out raising a vast horn of mead.

Background:

Aeson was born to great champions; Ajax, soldier without peer and Chryseis, high priestess of Athena*. He knew that he would eventually be worthy of fame beyond that of his parents, and fulfilled this through battles against man and monster alike. The greatest glory, however, came when he took the mighty axe Kratophagus from the dead hand of its master, the tyrant Gorgythion. With this power, he attempted to battle the ancient titans themselves. He was cast down by the power of Hyperion and Iapetus and landed, hisbody shattered, back on the mortal plane. The gods took note of his bravery and bloodlust, however, and carried him up on high where they imbued him with a spark of the divine. Aeson returned now a champion of the gods and has risen to even more legendary heights than before, ensuring his name will be immortal in the legends of ten thousand generations.
