About Aefre the Wanderer

Backstory:
The half-elf child of a mercenary from valenar and a skyport doxie, Aefre grew up moving about often with his mother, though for a long time he was too young to understand why. It wasn't until he was old enough to start learning history that he came to understand the reason they moved so much was him... or more precisely the tattoo like markings that spread across his shoulders and down his arms on corpse pale skin. Somehow Aefre's heritage had gifted him with a dragon mark, but it wasn't one that could be matched to any of the proper dragon marks of the world. It was an aberrant mark, and while the abilities it granted were far from the terrible powers wielded in stories, his mother still worried for her child's safety whenever she thought it might have been found out.
Eventually, the wanderings of his mother and Aefre took them to the Talenta plains, where his mother was fortunate enough to acquire the favor of a halfing lath with a small tribe. Life with the halflings was good for the two of them, as their adoptive 'tribe' cared little for any of their oddities besides their ability to contribute to the well being of the tribe as a whole. The nomadic lifestyle of the tribes made it so Aefre and his mother could maintain a sense of community even when they moved.

All that changed shortly after Aefre turned twenty. His mother was attacked by one of the halfling mounts which had become diseased, and Aefre, desperately trying to help her, reached out with his mind to draw on some capacity he had never known himself to possess. He called up some creature, a mass of claw and muscle that killed the dinosaur as if it had been designed to do so. If it had been as simple as killing another's mount, Aefre might have been allowed to stay, particularly where the mount was diseased and a danger to everyone. But other members of the tribe reported seeing a mark burning on his brow and the creature when it appeared. Reluctantly the lath of the tribe told Aefre he would have to leave. Perhaps the aberrant mark that Aefre possessed wasn't related to the creature which had appeared and vanished so suddenly, but how could the tribe be sure? Aefre himself wasn't sure where the creature had come from or gone back to, nor when and how it would come. How could the tribe feel safe in such a situation, when considering a creature that was such a threat to so integral a part of their way of life?

Aefre understood, and packed up his few possessions, leaving behind the tribe that he had thought of as family. Over time he has begun to unravel some of the truths about his origins and what he can do, having come to believe that the creature he summons up is made of the spirits of his Valenar ancestors and their steeds. He has taught himself to call the beast as he needs it, and to wield the energies he is only beginning to perceive in the world around him, he set out seeking fortune and adventure, if not fame.

He was fortunate enough to recently find a place within the Wayfinder Foundation, who saw his skills and capacities as potentially useful. Only recently has he been given sufficient supplies to begin his own excavations, and a former client of his mother's (who was retiring) passed along an old map of the Breland-Darguun region. It is a place to start, and Aefre was grateful for even that much.

-Ancestral Arms: In his time amongst the halflings of the Talenta plains, Aefre was taught how to use the talenta sharrash, both to hunt and defend himself. He receives Exotic Weapon Proficiency in the sharrash as a free feat. This ability replaces the standard half-elf Adaptability.
-Life Link: Any time Cacostrum takes enough damage to be returned to its home plane, Aefre may sacrifice any number of hit points. Each hitpoint sacrificed prevents 1 damage, and can prevent Cacostrum from being returned to its home plane. This comes at a cost: Cacostrum must remain within 100 feet of Aefre to remain at full power. If Cacostrum moves outside that area, his total HP are reduced as follows: 100-1,000 feet =50%, 1,000-10,000 feet =25%, more than 10,000 feet = immediately banished to home plane.

Special Abilities

-Link (Ex):
A summoner and his eidolon share a mental link allows for communication across any distance (as long as they are on the same plane). This communication is a free action, allowing the summoner to give orders to his eidolon at any time. In addition, magic items interfere with the summoner’s connection to his eidolon. As a result, the summoner and his eidolon share magic item slots. For example, if the summoner is wearing a ring, his eidolon can wear no more than one ring. In case of a conf lict, the items worn by the summoner remain active, and those used by the eidolon become dormant. The eidolon must possess the appropriate appendages to utilize a magic item.
-Share Spells (Ex): The summoner may cast a spell with a target of “you” on his eidolon (as a spell with a range of touch) instead of on himself. A summoner may cast spells on his eidolon even if the spells normally do not affect creatures of the eidolon’s type (outsider). Spells cast in this way must come from the summoner spell list. This ability does not allow the eidolon to share abilities that are not spells, even if they function like spells.
-Pounce: An eidolon possessing this evolution may make a full attack after a charge. This evolution may only be possessed by an eidolon with the quadruped base form.
