Okay then, no worries. Just making sure I wasn't forgotten.

Adurus, his heart heavy with the large amount of pain, death, and madness he's seen in the last few days, feels rather homesick. Though he knows it's still a bit of a longshot, he starts to search around the city for information on the whereabouts of Gruckalus and Bordana, his hometown friends. He goes to the barracks of various military organizations, asking around for registries of recruits taken in the past two years. Adurus takes whatever information is given to him and patiently sifts through it, scanning page after page for those two elusive names.

Holy moly, do I have a lot of catch-up to play. I'll start reading it and hopefully be caught up by tomorrow (gotta go to work shortly).

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

I'm going on vacation out of the country until the 20th, and I won't be able to post, so DMPC me or whatever you need to do in the interim.

Trying to get hints about what the traitor might be according to descriptions...

Knowledge (planes): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Apparently not.

Similarly to Arzazel, Adurus regains control over his jaw and proceeds to close his agape mouth, then finally speaks up for the first time to say to Rud, "Y'think he could change shape with magic, or maybe was he somethin' not quite human?" Looking to Arzazel, Zeltresh, and Rutilus, Adurus mumbles, "Sorry, din' mean it like that..."

Adurus has a dozen questions on the top of his head which he wants to ask about the strange surroundings the party is inside, but he would rather not risk provocation with such inquiry, especially in a time of emergency as this one.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Adurus, though his oracle's curse prevents him from viewing the entirety of the chamber, is nonetheless impressed into slackjawed speechlessness by what he can see. The sheer value of the chamber itself would be enough to feed several kingdoms, never mind whatever the fantastic contraptions inside might do. He remains slack-jawed and speechless as Rud points some device angrily at the group; Adurus is so blown away by the situation he can't even comprehend that Rud is threatening the group with a weapon.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Adurus is levelled up. Not much to see here; I took that feat I linked earlier and the Touch of Flame revelation. Rest is pretty minor.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

I'll work on the levels now.

I'd like to take the feat Inexplicable Luck, but due to the format we're using the bonuses could be gamed. I'd be okay with the feat if I could only use the +4 option, but I just wanted to bring it up.

Also, I forget how hero points will interact with levels.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Well now you're just showing off. :P

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Fine with the plan myself.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Everyone should heal 2 hit points from my bursts.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

I shouldn't be surprised. The dice do this to me every time I play. XD

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Adurus lowers his sling arm before releasing the stone, seeing his allies' attacks drop the metal monstrosity in a suitably impressive manner. Adurus is a little disappointed that the creature left no remains; he is very curious about its methods of generating attacks and what might have powered the thing. With a sigh of relief, Adurus mentally moves past the disappointment.

With another moment of focus, Adurus causes a second burst of healing power to emanate from himself.

Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Unfortunately, his foot slips on a still-slick part of the bridge and he loses focus, causing the resulting burst of energy to be rather underwhelming. Adurus scratches the back of his head in embarrassment and concentrates again.

Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Unfortunately, trying to use the power again while flustered proves to provide a similarly poor result.

/facepalm...

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Adurus loads his sling, swings it above his head twice, then lets loose his rock, aiming straight for the creature's glowing runes.

Sling Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Are we who took shock damage stunned or was that just flavorful text?

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Adurus concentrates on a niggling feeling in the back of his mind; he imagines that feeling expanding ever larger, until it surges out of him in a burst of holy energy.

Channel energy, as it seems we're going to need to eat an attack or two...

Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 5

It'll affect everyone but the guys in the far back of the group, though I don't think they've taken damage yet.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Now standing on very unsteady footing, Adurus slips around in place, grasping the side rail to keep himself upright. Deciding the bridge seems too narrow to fight with so many melee combatants abreast, Adurus instead opts to stow his shield and drop his mace, then pull out a sling of his own. Perhaps he can help by playing more of a supportive role at the moment.

Move action to sheathe shield, free action to drop mace, move action to draw sling. Next turn I'll either be using a channel energy or throwing a rock at it.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Props on linking Smooth McGroove, I love that guy's music. :)

On a different note, curses, yet another enemy who I cannot affect with disarming or the sickened condition. Maybe some day my spells will be useful.

Adurus sees the group springing to action, racing down the thin bridge; he himself cannot yet see what it is his comrades are attacking, so he moves closer to get a better look. Double move to L10.

Adurus, jogging forward in his heavier armor, stops about 15 feet off of the mechanical monstrosity which has now come into view; despite its similarities to the other mechanical creatures, Adurus is still taken aback at its appearances. He raises his shield and gets ready to approach into melee range with the bizarre beast, his eyes wide and his mace hand a little shaky.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Adurus, for one, is not looting the bodies we pass.

When the door is opened and the horrible sight of the girl becomes apparent to him, Adurus only barely stops himself from retching. The stench, the terrible facial expression, the mutilation; Adurus is not used to having the dead this close, and the young boy has a hard time keeping it together as the party continues and the scene gets more grim. Sweat grows on his brow, his hands get clammy and his breathing gets heavier. As they walk he whispers to nobody in particular, "Why?"

When the group arrives at the end of the bridge, Adurus cannot yet see what the others are (presumably) marvelling at; he waits patiently for more information.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Adurus is also not taking a weapon and ready to move on.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Is there another exit in this room?

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Maybe we just pick our favorite gun to run out with if things go sour :P.

Adurus, watching the group's back as they approach and move into the newly opened room, turns around and momentarily forgets the sentries at the sight of the room's interior. He marvels at the sight of so many guns; Adurus himself hasn't had much personal experience with them, but he knows the wounds such weapons are capable of inflicting. As he moves further into the room his gaze rests on a particularly large gun with a fat muzzle; Adurus moves up to it and cautiously looks down inside the barrel, wondering what exactly comes out of such a contraption, as it seems too big for the bits of metal which normal guns shoot. Admiring the blunderbuss.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Adurus's clouded gaze is warily held on the sentries as the group moves into position; the bizarre beings are only the second time Adurus has seen mechanical wonders so intricate, the first being the swarm of nasty metal spiders that tried to kill the group. He keeps his shield high between himself and the sentries, peering over it and wondering at what exactly they are. Metal, but they move like creatures... Are they powered by magic? He's both curious and apprehensive of the metal men, and as he steps backward toward the door he wonders aloud, "You think they can understand us?"

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Adurus clunks along inside the pipe. His attention is focused in the present, listening carefully to the sounds and straining in vain to see anything important. He remains curious as to what lays in store for the group inside the building.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Not much for my actions.

Adurus, once he's calmed down from the encounter with the swarm, readies to follow the group through the claustrophobic pipe. He follows far behind the front line, trying to reduce the burden his noisesome armor causes the group.

Is there still going to be an issue of making an Escape Artist to get into the pipes?

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Adurus gives a quick nod to Eldred and, without another word, casts a spell on him.

Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Of course...

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

I did indeed miss the CLW last round. Thank you for that Eldred. :)

Adurus, still fighting the swarm desperately despite the fact that the swarm is no longer fighting back and is scattering, continues to crush the tiny mechanical bugs with his mace. His thoughts are only on keeping himself alive.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Adurus is also on his last leg. :)

Adurus's stance falters with the surge of energy; he sways like a pugilist about to go down for the count. However, he shakes off the darkness, regains his bearings, and continues his desperate fight for survival.

Mace Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Don't think I'll be changing anything about Adurus; like I said before, there aren't a whole lot of choices at this point for a fire-based divine caster.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Swarms can't be crit.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Adurus continues swinging frantically at the swarm with his weapon, hoping that somehow he's doing enough to it to make a difference.

Mace Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

I'm okay either way. Personally I don't use the recaps, but if others do then I say we should keep 'em.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

That is interesting, I'd never done AoO's against them either. Then again, the swarms I've always done were small enough for weapon damage to be useless, so I suppose that was a moot point then.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Ouch, not doing very well on hit points. Do you have the 5 points of damage from myself and Vincent included in the tally? Also, I assume since I'm inside the swarm I need to roll Fort save vs distraction?

Swarm Distraction Fort save: 1d20 ⇒ 12

If that is a success, Adurus will 5-ft step back to D11 and channel positive energy. If it isn't a success my one move action will be to move to F10.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Mr Brimleydower, the way I read the section for attacking with weapons against a swarm of Tiny creatures they take full damage from bludgeoning. From the SRD, "A swarm has no clear front or back and no discernible anatomy, so it is not subject to critical hits or flanking. A swarm made up of Tiny creatures takes half damage from slashing and piercing weapons. A swarm composed of Fine or Diminutive creatures is immune to all weapon damage." So, because it's not Fine or Dinimutive it isn't immune to weapon damage, and because it doesn't say bludgeoning weapon damage is changed for Tiny I take that to mean it does normal damage. Does this sound right? (It also doesn't make any sense that squishing bugs with a big club or something would be less effective than skewering them one at a time with a rapier)

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Gonna be gone all of tomorrow, so if you need to do something with my character go ahead and do it.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

I think I'll just start swinging instead of fooling with oil.

With few options for attack, Adurus draws out his mace now, crouching low and preparing to swing it into the swarm of bizarre creatures when they draw nearer. If someone else wants to step up to attack the swarm, Adurus will 5' step to D13 and ready the attack.

Readied Mace Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Likely not even a hit. Although moving up to keep the swarm contained in the pipes would help us because less of us would take damage, it would also mean that less of us can make attacks against it. I dunno what you guys want to do.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Where on the map did the alchemist's fire end up? And does it leave fire in the square(s), or is that snuffed out quickly enough that we don't have to worry about it?

I'm thinking I'll draw out a flask of oil to pour so that Zeltresh or I can ignite it; the only fire-based offense I have besides the breath attack is burning disarm, which won't help much here. Oracle of flame doesn't have much to pick from at first level.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Adurus will gladly hand over the flask, which is currently in his hand. I dunno if that would take an action from me or what...

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Adurus steps up among the others (to D12, one move action) and steels his nerves, prepared to throw the flask once the swarm draws nearer. He shouts to the others, his adolescent voice cracking, "Stay away from in front of me!" while drawing a deep breath.

Ready an action to use my fire breath ability once they approach to D15 or closer. Gonna save the flask for next round. Hope the little buggers don't have any fire resistance like the last enemies did.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Adurus, now hearing the chittering but not seeing its source, puts away his mace and draws out a volatile flask of alchemist's fire, ready to let it loose on whatever appears from within.

Two move actions, one to stow the mace and one to draw alchemist's fire. Not enough space for me to melee anyways. Also going to edge 5' closer to the grate.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Since you asked for a concrete marching order, I suppose I can be farthest in the back. Nathmir should be closer to the center, as a cleric specializing in channels.

Adurus perks up when Rutilus declares that some unknown entity is approaching. He draws his mace and shield, knowing that his sling will not serve much purpose in tight quarters, and stays alert for whatever is coming.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Just posting to say I'm still here. As someone at the back of the group I'm basically waiting until others are through this obstacle and I know whether I can make it through with armor on or not.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Hmm, not sure how I'm going to get through this. Guess I'll have to take off the armor first to see whether I can squeeze it.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Hey, as long as I can tell where we are, where the enemies are, and where people can walk it works for me. :)

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Hmm, looks like we have most of the potential points of access investigated at the moment. Adurus will stand around until he find something more useful to do.

A bit overwhelmed by the confined and almost alien place, Adurus takes a moment to gain his bearings. He watches the others as they get to work in quickly figuring the situation out.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Adurus, nodding and saluting at the Bailiff's dismissal, rejoins his group and stays in the far back of the party.

Male Human Oracle 1 | 19/19 hp | AC 20 (ff 18, t 12) | F +1, R +3, W +4 | 2 Hero Pts | Per +1 | Init +2

Adurus waits behind for now; if he were to follow the pointmen within his 30' view distance he would likely give them away with his noisesome armor, and following further would mean he can't see any signaling and thus might wander too close. For now he sheepishly speaks to Bailiff Terandar, saying, "Ah, do you have any soldiers who are mortally wounded? I, ah, I can soothe their wounds."

Can use heal skill to provide first aid on any dying characters, taking 10 for a 15. If needed, I might also use magical healing. To be clear, I only intend to spend a minute or two tending to any injured before following the party.
