So the Monster that the party is to fight at the end on the test, You know who, lies dead by the Cathedral of Feathers.

Not a problem, I had intended to bring him back as a ghost anyway. My problem is this with the Font of negative energy nearby a ghost is nearly unbeatable. no one can grapple him out of the Font and he can just de-manifest if he gets into trouble.

Has anyone has this scenario, and what did you do.

p.s. also what good is a ghost for the last test? you cant get to his body.


This is not so much a question as a laugh out load situation

My player wants to hire an investigator to look into corruption in the Mayors office and who would be a good person to do that.
I say that Shensen and her friends would be your first thought or another adventuring group such as the Stormblades.
He doesn’t trust either of those groups so he asks Ike Iverson for advice. Ike sends him to find Jill.

Now what? Its going to be hard to keep a straight face this week.


In the process of interacting with Shensen, the Party convinces Shensen to go to find Zenith with them. I rule that where Shensen goes, Fario and Fellian would follow. Once the party figures out they are being followed they then ask them to walk up front with the party.

Now realize, In CH1 I rewrote F&F to both be archers. Little did I know.

Also, for the fight, I gave the Striders character sheets to the players to run. To ease my burden.

When the party enters the temple, they give the defenders plenty of notice. 3 minutes of notice.
It takes them 10 rounds to beat down the defenders, the Striders are mostly useless as the Whips AC is 30 to them.
The last Whip dies and the party regroups as Mangh-Michto finishes his buffs and steps out. 7 more rounds until Aushanna.

On a funny note, the dusk-blade teleports behind M-M so M-M just closes and locks the door.
Suddenly Fario steps up and unlocks the door. He's useful again. . . Only to be met by a wall of water and arrows don’t work under water.

So when Aushanna shows up, the party is beating on Mangh-Michto who is underwater in his room with the Favored Soul and the Striders hanging back.

Aushanna monologs for round 1
Glancing over his shoulder the Wizard calls out "She's a Devil and has DR5/good
The Favored Soul casts align weapon on FARIO!
Fario unloads 2 arrows for about 15 damage.

Aushanna responds with 4 arrows dropping him passed -10 but tricky splat book spells keeps Fario alive this round.

Shensen casts warp wood on Aushanna's bow and it lands.

The rest is history with Fario doing damage, and the Favored Soul keeping him alive using every spell he has as healing plus scolls and wands


My players have just hit a dead end.

The book give 2 methods that the player could find out about the Ruins, Artus or Toungeater. They have killed Toungeater and the party mage refused to meet with anyone at midnight, alone, in a dark place.

I have come up with a few ideas as to how they could find out by investigation. Food need to be bought so some merchent may have a clue. THats how I had Artus find out. also Weapons are needed for the allybashers so some badguy blacksmith may have a clue. The allybashers must know something. The players havent thought of any of these lines of questioning nor do any of them have a good gather info skill.

The players asked Shensen for help so she went off to get the Striders to look into the matter but I'd hate to just hand the info over for free.

Did anyone have any trouble getting the players to the Kopru Ruin?
