So my party could could be potentially going against the lizard folk in their next session and prepping for the encounter I notice that Vesket, lizard king is listed as a N. for alignment. Now from reading the encounter it seems he could realistically still be reasoned with but at no point does the game give any real insight into how to play that version of the encounter out; it seems that the encounter is designed to be played out as more of a "convince the tribe to go against the king and fake god" scenario and doesn't really offer any suggested "Point out the emperor's new clothes" advice.

My party has been playing very diplomatic, so I assume they'll try and reason with Vesket which seems based on his build doable.
Any suggestions on how to run that since the book doesn't really offer any?

Follow up and afterthought: does anyone know of any good Lizard man NPC's I could borrow as a potential leader to the tribe, if they are forced to get rid of Vesekt.

I recently built a home brew adventure for my group and it went really well and we all had a great time. Recently, my group expressed some interest in learning Shadowrun (5th ed). After spending a week trying to learn the game, I shot the idea down. It was the most miserable experience I've had in a long time trying to learn a game system. That being said I actually like the ideas of Shadowrun, specifically the idea of being runners. the whole game may as well be Heist movie: the game. So, as a result I want to build what would essentially be Heist movie: the Pathfinder game. This is what I'm coming here for.

I have a basic idea so far for setting, game outline and the initial heist, a daring midnight airship robbery for a mcguffin. The party gets betrayed afterwards by the employer. From that point the game would basically be an episodic heist tv show where the party would do various heists while at the same time uncovering why they were betrayed and a way for them to get revenge.

I did this episodic style of story telling in my last game, which was basically a series of adventures loosely based around classic western movies and it did really well. It allowed players to miss sessions without missing out too much on the story.

What I'm looking for help with is basically people to help shoot ideas off of to build the various heists and as well as setting ideas npc character ideas. Thanks in advance.

Ps I'm thinking of gathering a second group of players and doing a side by side game as the investigators who are going after the main party. I haven't really fleshed out the idea at all yet.

So, how often should the PCs encounter these other ships when they are patrolling? I mean, the Wormwood sailed around the Shackles for a few weeks before finding the Man's Promise.

My players want to kind of patrol near Bloodcove. Since they'll be fairly close to a good-sized city, should they have a ship encounter every couple days?

And how often should I roll for random encounters? A few times per day?

Anybody have a decent answer for this question?

Thanks.

I think it depends on how often they want to patrol that area. What I mean by that is: if they plan on after one or two ships get attacked in the same general area, wouldn't you expect marines of some sort to start patrolling that general area that they regually attack in?

If you take that into consideration, then if they are consistantly patrolling the same area, I would make one or two ships a week and if they continue for more than 2 weeks patrolling the same area, I would have a marine ship or maybe a ship of mercenaries hired to take them out come gunning for them.
In that same vein, if they continuously patrol the same area, then eventually ships would start taking different shipping lines to avoid the area known as their hunting ground.
Just a couple of thoughts.

Im hoping it turns out hilarious with my party: undine bard, gnome bard, orc fighter, tiefling Cad/ninja, and martial artist vanara. They usually run battles as save or suck.
I'm having trouble of thinking of what the units should be for what is essentialy army combat. Like two goblins could take on one sanguin, one pirate could take on 2 or 3 goblins.
that sort of stuff.

I should also point out that the captain is the monkey man.

I'll let you know how it all turns out though.

so my party, having befriended one of the goblin tribes, has decided to storm tidewater by bringing the goblins to the fort and basically use them as an army to kill everything.

my solution to this: by the time they get back, the inkwell pirated have already taken Tidewater and it'll be an all out war the party will have to deal with, with the inkwells coming from the fort while the sanguahns come from the sea.

What do you guys think?

I guess that means it worked. let me know what you think.

dang

lets try this one.

I do have the paper chronicles somewhere in my files ill look for them they were definitely offical PFS events, i know that much off the top of my head.

Back in August, like a nubmer of you, I attended gencon. At gencon, I played in three PFS games.

Of those three only one has been reported onto my characters PFS session page. Now my memory isn't that good, so I can't remember the 2 quests that havent been reported yet and I definitely dont remember the DMs that ran them.

Is there any way or means of finding out this information or getting it properly reported?

I have friends who played in the adventures with me and can find out if theirs were ever reported.

link to the small quest. I worked in the hourglass item from the back of the book. there is an optional NPC character to join the team goblin rogue Nyuk-Nyuk Pigwhistler, that I have a character sheet made up for if you wanna see that too.

The base idea for the quest is that a Leprechaun is screwing with one tribe of goblins claiming that another is trying to kill them. he wants to convince the players to go wipe out the other tribe, basically because he hates goblins and wants to screw with them. He gives them a magic flute that the goblins refer to as "the stingin' stick" which once per day can summon a random swarm, but doesn't control it, so its mostly a trap item to create a swarm that will turn around and attack the group. While the party is dealing with the other tribe, he convinces the first tribe that Lamishtu and the Goblin Heroes have spoken to him and have decided that the party are agents of good and must be destroyed.
While he doesn't have anything against the party he does want to cause havoc to the tribe and kill as many of them as he can.

The Leprechaun is designed to be a reoccurring nuisance to the party, mostly because the party will happen to wander into his schemes to mess with other creatures.

So this book is the first time I find myself having to build my own actual quests (as opposed to just using book quests). I just finished writing my first quest ever and would really appreciate it if one of you more experienced GM's could take a look at it and see if it works decently. If someone has the time that is. I can either send it PM or drop the link to it on my google drive.

They really are nice and with my party who play moer like "lets go on adventures" pirates rather than "lets go rape and pillage" pirates
it would just be nice to say oh yeah that things worth xx gp or yy extra disrepute if you show it off. I dunno i just wish they gave a little more then what they did. any one have any quests they used that they want to share?

see that is a good start but what would really help is more background on the people and items involved with the stuff for instance, my group wants to go to skinny whale island and just eradicate a tribe of goblins (just because) I could easily have on of those items be there, but my team is very much intersted in the "what does it do, what can I do with it" and lets say i make it so the fancy hourglass is there, they are gonna want more info on it besides what the little blurb gives me.

So I consider my self a pretty decent DM, not great but I manage on my own. I'm currently running a Skull and Shackles quest, five member party.
We just started part 2 of the second book. Now, I consider my self pretty good when it comes to improv, I like to let my party do whatever they want and I'll react just fine to the situation.

That being said- I really want to start incorporating the rumors in the back of each adventure book. my one real down fall as a DM is that I'm not so great when the book just gives me some minor info on the little mini-quest and expects me to fill in all the blanks.

Can anyone here help provide me with some ideas in order to run those little quests at the back? I'd be real appreciative and would be more than willing to trade some of the made up stuff I put together that my group has done so far.

Yitzkak and his eidolon Meir would be happy to travel with you, although he is a bit of a curmudgeon.

according to the additional resources sheet:

ARS wrote:
Oreads: all alternate racial traits, favored class options, racial archetypes, racial equipment, feats, magic items, and spells are legal for play.

thats why he allowed it, we didn't see till today when i was going to register the character that I needed a boon

So, I just recently played in my first PFS the other day. I was unaware at the time that I had already made a PFS character so I made a new one, an Oread Summoner. I really like the character and want to continue playing as him, but if I'm reading the rules correctly I need a "boon" to do so and the only place I can get one is at a con like Gencon, which I wont be able to attend. I really like this character I made and would like to continue on with him. is there anyway at all to get a boon to play as an Oread or am I SOL and just have to remake the character.

Hi, just recently found this kingdom sheet, its great, I really like using it. I'm just having a few issues.

1: The weather modifier at the bottom of the overall page seems to always read as some variation of cold and stormy regardless of what the season is.

2. I can't seem to figure out how to get my first city (city1 sheet) to have more then one district. My group currently has 3 city districts. I've unhidden the city blocks on City Map one and filled 3 with the buildings they own but the city districts cell on city 1 still reads as having 1 district

3. My team built an arena, its the only arena they have. When I try to put "1" in for number of arenas on the City 1 sheet, It tells me that a city is only allowed to have 1 arena and won't let me add it in.

I should mention I'm using Open Office spredsheet and I am remembering to F9

thanks for the help
