"It's not hard to land on Nar Shaddaa and leave on a slave ship, if you're not careful. That, or end up as spare parts." Garrett just gives Mika a curt nod to acknowledge the Hutt, trying to keep up the persona he'd been presenting. "Let's see what they want."

"Yeah, I'll let him know we're coming. It seems like Popara isn't the one behind this, though; he seems like an outsider, and he didn't know the spice was on the ship in the first place. Could it be a power play, trying to oust him?" Garrett shrugs, getting ready to head out and send the message. "I'll make sure he knows it'll be smiles all around, Rennah, don't worry."

"It beats sitting around on a ship all day polishing my gun." Garrett shrugs with his customary irreverence. "That, and whoever's orchestrating this drug trade is a powerful enemy. Taking them out of the picture can't be bad for us, or the galaxy."

"To give you the short version," Garrett quips while Rennah hands him the data, "It's bad. Apparently, one of the most dangerous drugs in the galaxy. It was some of the hidden cargo that Popara's son and another Hutt were moving, unbeknowst to Popara himself. Your scientist seems to think it could cause the worst drug epidemic the galaxy's ever seen. He said he thought you should see it, so here we are. We figured you'd see it faster this way."

"You're right, he probably will. So much for a vacation, I guess. Let's get this to the Emperor then. If he's going to send us out to deal with a drug problem, we might as well get moving now, right?"

"Well, that's not very nice. That idea didn't come from someone who had any belief in the sanctity of intelligent life. meaning it was probably either a Hutt or a droid. It's smart, but... well, evil."

"Don't look at me. I'm much more comfortable only seeing that red glow through the lens of my scope, thank you. Dealing with those Jedi was bad enough, I'm going to leave it to you next time. Still, they didn't seem to mind I was providing covering fire either. Even if they thought they could overwhelm you, you'd think a sniper on the rooftop were turn them off."

"I don't know that the Hutts are behind it, but they were the ones transporting it. But, it wasn't supposed to be on that ship. It was hidden from Popara, the Hutt we were supposed to be contracting with. It was a side deal between two other Hutts. I don't know how deep this goes."

Yeah, I'm not sure what the exact issue was. I'm guessing it was probably something hidden or interactions between several different bits of code that they didn't notice; I don't have a ton of background in IT, but that's usually how these kinds of things happen.

However, it is being resolved at some point. They've said they were working on it, which is good.

It was something wrong with a new version of the site's code, from what I understand. They launched a new codebase to fix some old issues from the site, but then this new issue kinda cropped up; however, more issues popped up with the new code and so they made another new base for the site that only fixed immediate and super-pressing issues that caused serious problems, I guess.

A heads up for all my games; I'm going to be camping from Monday to Wednesday, so I won't be able to post. I should have Internet on my phone, but posting from my phone is a real chore (even ignoring the logout issue I still have on mobile) so I will be silent for a few days. I may keep up if I can get Paizo to reliably work on my phone, but if not I'll catch up when I get back.

"Go for it. Not like you're gonna sell us out to the Hutts, right?" Garrett gives a halfhearted grin as he examines his new rifle, before shrugging. "Just let us know when you figure out what it is."

"Don't kid yourself." Garrett grins at Errin admiring the gun, himself working on cleaning and reassembling his new prototype rifle purchased from a contact on the ship. The gun's polished durasteel gleams in the ship's light, and as he finishes assembling it and inserts a power pack, it lets out a low hum. "I don't have time to watch all of you at the same time; it's better for me if you can shoot someone down without my help." When the scientist takes a look at the spice, Garrett nods at Errin's comment. "Stole is a... harsh word. We may have acquired it, without his knowledge, in exchange for some rendered services."

On a side note, I'm hoping to get my gear upgraded as such:

Superior Tech:

Garrett - Superior Ability (Dexterity)
Sniper Rifle * - Superior Damage
Sniper Rifle * - Superior Accuracy
Flechette Launcher - Superior Damage
Vibroblade - Superior Accuracy

* Gaining two bonuses via the Prototype Gear template in KotOR

Tech Specialist:

Garrett - Enhanced Intelligence

Droid Upgrades (Scavenger's Guide to Droids):

Internal Grapple Gun
Interference Generator
Silence-Bubble Generator
Sensor Countermeasure Package
Weapon Detector

New Gear (Rebellion Era Campaign Guide):

Flechette Launcher
Flechette Canister (x16)

Requisitions:

Gas Grenades (x15)

It comes out to a total of 20,000 of my actual cash. I think I'll save the rest for later at this point and invest it in something later. I'm thinking of looking into some armor and stripping out the Reflex bonuses to get something else useful for myself... Shadow, would you say I'd still need the Armored Defense talent if the Reflex bonus from the armor is +0? I figured I probably do, just wanted to ask. If so, my next level in Soldier will be to pick that up.

I'll just roll the Mechanics checks for this here, in order to keep it simple. Unfortunately, I can't take 10 and none of you can actually HELP me by RAW, as you need Tech Specialist to aid with Superior Tech rolls. If our GM wants to waive that, I can take 10 and with a successful Aid Another, I get the +2 needed to succeed at a DC 30 check without rolling, which means no risk of possible failure. I can roll all the checks here in Discussion if necessary, or if Shadow wants to let you all roll Aid Another, I'll just need you to do that; each successful Aid Another check is an automatic success for me.

Yeah, calling a scientist to the ship to help out. Garrett probably won't glean much information on his own.

Garrett sighs when he looks over the crate of spice, before ordering some more parts for himself. "They're going to wonder why there's so many droid parts lying around the ship... unless it's one of the techs here who knows." Garrett frowns when he hasn't been contacted by one of the ship's scientists. "What, do I have to send them another message? How long does it take for them to get here?"

Mechanics (DC 30): 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33
Knowledge (Life Science): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

I have a... long list of upgrades for Garrett. Like I said, I'm also looking to get some sort of prototype rifle, using the rules from the KotOR book; it doesn't seem like the kind of thing I could just buy so I figured you'd want to do something with that. If not, I'll just buy it and put it on my sheet.

We received 100,000 total. Nothing mentioned that Gunnar took his portion of the money when he left, and considering he was more interested in finding the lost temple it certainly makes more sense that he would leave immediately. That would presumably mean that the four original crew members had 25,000 each to spend on whatever we choose. We can also pool that money for ship upgrades too, obviously.

Errin, I can always plug in some Superior Tech options from Scum and Villainy. Garrett already installed some upgrades in himself for some stat bonuses and I'm planning to upgrade all of my weapons as well. The other big thing I'm planning to buy is some gas grenades and a flechette launcher; while the game isn't PvP anymore it's still possible we'll have fights were more conventional weapons are not as useful. I actually wanted a flechette launcher at the beginning of the game, but I didn't have the money. Since it's firing physical projectiles it can't be deflected by lightsabers at all, and gas grenades automatically move people down the condition track on a failed save. Since I'm immune to the gas, I can then move in and deal with whoever is in the gas cloud without any issues.

Garrett, after taking a look at the ship and deciding he was fairly certain it hadn't been tampered with, decides to browse through the wares on the station through the HoloNet. He starts selecting a few items to have them sent to the ship—upgrades for himself, mostly, although he puts in a request to meet with an armorer on the ship about some new weapons—before he gives an interested look toward the crates of spice sitting near him on the ship. "Maybe it's time we took a look at this, hmm? See what we can find out..." Garrett slides the lid of the crate open, examining the spice as it poured through his open fingers; regardless of what it was, Garrett was certain it wouldn't bother him. "What are we looking at here, exactly? Some kind of drug? I'm not exactly a scientist..." The droid frowned, putting in another request on the HoloNet for someone to come and aid him in examining the drug.

Can I reasonably find access to anything I want to buy here? I just started with upgrades for Garrett via Tech Specialist/Superior Tech, which I've rolled for below. I have other things I want to buy (namely a new gun, and also I want to find a Prototype rifle using the template from KotOR) but I want to make sure I can find them here. What should I roll to learn about the spice?

Mechanics; DC 30: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (16) + 17 = 33
Mechanics; DC 20: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (18) + 17 = 35

That gives Garrett another +2 Dexterity via Superior Tech, and a +2 Intelligence via Tech Specialist.

I am gonna take a look at the spice, but I also have a different question.

Would it be possible to find the required components to upgrade both my weapon, and also Garrett himself, on this station? Since we have some extra cash I'd love to scrounge up the stuff to give him some good upgrades to all his equipment and such. I can also upgrade other people's weapons. armor, or even the ship before we go if that's an option.

"I don't need to unwind, Rennah. Stress is a biological function, and I am thankfully immune to it. I operate at full efficiency regardless of the gravity of the situation. It's one of my many advantages." At the mention of checking out the ship, Garret nods. "You all can go 'unwind', if you wish. You're welcome to help me look over the ship, but it isn't necessary if you'd rather rest. I can meet you at the bar if you really want me to."

"A bar? How... typical." Garrett watches the new arrival without any sort of introduction, and waves his hand at any mention of a medical inspection. "Not necessary, unless you're a mechanic." He grins, flexing his mechanical arm. "Speaking of a mechanic, if you all insist on getting drunk, I'll take the time to look over the ship personally. I'll see if I can't find anything useful to install while I'm browsing for my own parts."

Garrett just stands with his arms crossed, his eyebrow raised when Rennah takes a knee. "I'm not much worried about the ship, I'll be giving her a pretty thorough look-over when I do some upgrades. If I find anything, I'll take care of it. We've got a sizable sum from the Hutts for the job they asked of us, might as well give ourselves something nice." Garrett shrugs, but he nods with Rennah mentioning the distrust of their medicine. "Speaking of Hutts and their drugs, it seems a new gang war has sprung up within the Hutt network. Selling a new drug called Tempest, seems like. I have a feeling that might've been what they were carrying on-world, on the Hutt's crashed ship. We have a container of it, right? That we stole? We might want to take a look at that."

Garrett hangs around his bunk and trolls through the HoloNet for anything they might have missed while they were on-world and away from easy access.

Taking a 10 on Use Computer, if I need it. That gets me a 22.

I was helping him with some stuff, but I haven't had a ton of time. I'm looking for some good support character options using Force powers and such. I'm looking for things that'll let him heal us and do things like give combat boosts. Basically, a Star Wars bard. I just haven't had a lot of time to do so.

Thankfully it looks like the storm may be heading inland, away from me, so I should be able to help him out tomorrow.

Hey guys, this is a blanket notice going out to all of my games here on the boards. While I am thankfully outside the path of Hurricane Harvey, current projections for Hurricane Irma are sending it barreling up the coast of Florida to sweep much of the eastern coast of the United States. As I live directly on the ocean, I'm already gearing up for a potential evacuation at the moment. While hopefully all I get is a lot of rainfall, it's likely that by the time Irma hits Maryland it will still be at least a Category 3 storm, if not worse. I will have my laptop and such in the case of an evacuation, but I likely won't be able to post with any real schedule or frequency. Moreover, given that I live more or less directly on the ocean, it's more likely than not that if I'm forced to evacuate there will not be a home for me to come back to after the storm passes. The island is not built to withstand that kind of storm, and the last time something anywhere near that deadly swept through, it made an inlet where there used to be a road. My point being, if I'm hit by the hurricane it's very likely I will be off the boards for a long while, or at least my posting will be sparse and intermittent.

I'm sure I'm not the only one following the storm on the news, but I'll do my best to keep everyone updated on my status. It's likely the storm, if it hits me at all, will make landfall here early next week. If you see on the news that the storm has hit Maryland and you don't hear from me, that's probably why. I just wanted to put this message up now as I'm prone to losing power during storms and I didn't want to leave anyone hanging.

Thanks for understanding,
Jon

"I agree. I trust the components Emperor Fel will be able to provide more than the Hutts, if I'm being honest. Especially considering some of them are being installed in me." Garrett prepares for the journey back to Imperial space, heading to his bunk. "I'm ready when you all are."

Forgot to dot in over here.

Gunnar, I can still help out with your character if you need it. I got kind of wrapped up in my new independent contracting work, and then my girlfriend was down for a while after being out of the country. However, let me know if you have any questions about building something specific and I can try and help.

"I agree. That'll make it 100,000 altogether. It's not what we signed on for, but it'll be enough to compensate us for the work we did."

Plus you have a MUCH greater system Mastery than I do with respect to SAGA, much like Phntm888!

It makes up for the fact that my understanding of Vampire: The Masquerade is basically non-existent.

"Don't press this too hard. We're have what our actual objective from the Emperor was. The credits are icing on the cake, but let us not piss off an entire Hutt Clan. I'd accept a reasonable deduction from him, after all, we're working with a Hutt. Just enough to convince him that we ARE the mercenaries that we claim to be."

<<"Don't worry, that's the plan. It'd be suspicious if we did just walk away with the 50,000. I was never expecting the full payment, but if we don't push, well... what self-respecting mercenaries are walking away from that kind of pay day? Besides, the Emissary can always use more upgrades. So can I, now that I think about it.">>

Garrett just stands with his arms folded across his chest, his head cocked as the group addresses Vago.

I am fine with healing role honestly, if I could find a fun way to make someone a bit more shady imperial knight with a some lightsaber and heal and get a better build then gunnar I would welcome the help. My system fu sucks in this game
Garrett you got this one or should I do some digging? :-)

As busy as I like to think I am, you're definitely busier. I can give him a hand. I need to finish updating all my stuff for the night, but I can start looking and give him some suggestions tomorrow. I have a few thoughts already, but let me ask a few questions and I can see what I can find.

So, the Imperial Knights are both an organization and an actual PrC. You could be a member of the tradition without actually taking the class, or be just a force-user affiliated with the Empire. The actual Imperial Knight class is very melee combat focused (and is good at it), but isn't the best for a more Force-focused build. It is possible to heal with the Force, although it damages yourself. If you can give me a rundown of your priorities in terms of what you want the character to do best, I can give you some suggestions. Force Adept has a talent that allows you to replace Treat Injury with Use the Force; you could take that and Vital Transfer to be able to do more healing when necessary at the cost of some of your own HP, and Treat Injury can repair that to a degree.

So, just let me know in which order you want to prioritize things:

  • Lightsaber Combat
  • Force Powers
  • Healing
  • Anything else you want to be able to do

From that, I can give you some ideas. If anyone else wants to change/improve their builds, assuming the GM is alright with it, I'd be perfectly happy to help you guys as well. I have a lot of free time and I like this kind of stuff, so let me know.

  • Gunnar, if you're planning to switch to another character, I'd actually suggest someone at least passingly similar to the current character. The one place our current group is really lacking is in actual use of the Force; Rennah and Errin are Force Sensitive, but neither of them actually have Force Powers. Looking at the group currently, we've got an other decent setup other than the lack of Force utility.

  • Garrett: Garrett has long-range combat locked down, and will only continue to get better at it as time goes on. My next few feats I end up getting access to will get me attack/damage boosts as well, and I may take a level of Bounty Hunter to grab the ability to drop targets even farther on the condition track. I've also got hacking capacity, mechanical skills, and sneaking around to toy with as well.

  • Errin: Errin is also a good long-range combatant, while being more resilient than Garrett is. She doesn't have some of the utility abilities Garrett has, but can still aid on Mechanics checks easily and is good at surviving in harsher environments as well as being an even better lookout. She also does have Use the Force, and while she has no actual Force Powers, the skill itself has a lot of basic useful abilities.

  • Rennah: Rennah is a good melee combatant, for starters. While she doesn't have Block she does have Deflect, and she can also aid on Use Computer and Pilot checks pretty well. Again, while she doesn't have Force Powers, Use the Force has a variety of useful things it can do even without them. Her biggest draw is being able to fight up close, which the rest of us are decisively not anywhere near as good at doing.

  • Kaldo: Kaldo has a smattering of skills that fill in the gaps for the party, as well as having talents and abilities that make him a great pilot for our ship. He's no slouch on the ground and can keep up in a fight, but he really shines in ship combat.

Looking at it, our real missing area is still Force powers, although another melee characters wouldn't hurt either. Perhaps another Imperial Knight, more focused on the Force than lightsaber combat? Or a Force Adept who works with the Empire for some reason? Another useful thing might be someone with Treat Injury, as if I remember it's much more useful than Heal was in standard d20 games.

  • "You know, that's true. I even lied, just for you! I told him you gave us a different mission to cover for your deals with Mika hauling the contraband, and I told him that when you learned of Mika's disappearance you requested we aid the bounty hunters that he hired to find him. Can you imagine if he learned that not only were you and Mika working behind his back, that you didn't even ask us to look for his son? I feel like that wouldn't be favorable for you, would it?"

Garrett hides the twitch in his face when Popara effectively stiffs them on their payment, but he knows better than to argue with the Hutt. He'd found the initial payment offered to be higher than he'd expected, but he certainly wasn't thinking they'd short change them as much as they did. "The favor and gratitude of a Hutt is more valuable than any monetary reward. We thank you for the reward, mighty Popara. More importantly, we thank you for thinking of us should you require further work be done that could require our talents." Garrett gives a short bow, doing his best to be respectful. Assuming the Hutt has nothing further to tell them, Garrett leaves shortly after to find Vago, hoping to perhaps recoup some of their lost funds.

"We were promised 900,000 credits, Vago. Popara paid us 50,000. I understand I'm a mercenary and not a mathematician, but those seem to be very different sums of money."

Oops, that's a mistake. I spent the money for an internal commlink at character creation. I'll edit that on my sheet.

Rennah, Garrett's commlink is presumably installed somewhere in his body considering he's a droid.

Now that I think about it, does Deception have an opposed check? I thought it ran against the target's Will defense, but it might not be. That... may have been a less smart move than I originally thought. I ought to check that.

"No relation, but the name just struck me. It certainly gets people's attention, and attention is how you get a job." Garrett shrugs. "That, and being good at what you do. As for payment? We agreed upon 900,000 with Vago to move the cargo, but no additional reward was discussed in regards to when or if we found Mika. I would guess that was because there was no guarantee that we would be the ones to find him, considering you had hired others as well. That's just my assumption though, I can't say for certain."

"I'll take care of it." Garrett steps up, bowing his head slightly out of respect to the Hutt. The last thing they need is to piss him off after they just got into his good graces.

"You're correct, we aren't the mercenaries you hired. We were hired by Vago, actually. We were intended to smuggle a shipment of medical spice onto the planet for sale on the black market—as much of one as there still is, anyway—but before we landed on the planet, Vago learned of Mika's disappearance. Since we were already on our way, we received additional instructions to aid the mercenaries you hired to find Mika if we were able. I never saw anything of those you hired, but when we found Mika he was soon after under fire by a swoop gang. With the help of his guards, we drove the assailants off and escorted them here on our ship." Garrett spins the lie with ease, the words rolling off his tongue. When he's done, he moves to step back before bowing his head again.

"My apologies, I forgot my introductions. My name is Dengar."

    Deception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31

Had to go back and check our original fake name.

Not a problem, just figured I'd ask.

Garrett sits in the corner performing maintenance on both himself and his equipment. "You ask me, it's a crutch. It solves your problems for you instead of fixing them yourself. I mean, look at me." He gives a smug grin as he looks up from his rifle, which is currently in pieces on the floor. "I'm completely divorced from it. It does nothing for me, and I'm quite happy with that. What I do, I do under my own power. It's easy to solve your problems with your mystic bullsh*t than it is to figure out how to solve it for yourself. What happens when you hit an obstacle The Force won't save you from? Like a droid assassin, for example." He doesn't look up from his work this time, but it's clear he's talking about himself. "You can't sense me. I'm a kilometer away with crosshairs trained on your skull. With The Force, you never have to choose whether to adapt or die. Once you have to, well... I think you get the point."

Garrett just gives a drawn out sigh as he pieces his rifle back together. "Of course, what do I know? I'm just a droid. An impatient droid, at that. How long until we're ready to dock?"

Just realized I haven't updated my sheet.

    HP: 1d6 ⇒ 3
    Whee...

I'm grabbing Superior Tech and Skill Focus (Mechanics) for feats (one from Level 9, one from Scoundrel 4) for right now, so I'm capable of further upgrading the team's gear. If I recall we're getting a pretty good chunk of change here now that we've rescued Mika? Garrett can also upgrade himself to +4 DEX instead of +2, and then I can boost INT by 2 as well. I can upgrade the ship much more as well.

I'll wait until we have the money to actually purchase Garrett's upgrades for himself, though. So, a couple things will likely bump as well.

Shadow, did you think at all on the feat/talent changes? I get if it's too much work for you, just haven't heard anything about it.

Shadow, sorry to bring up another thing, but there's a feat I'm interested in taking called Deadly Sniper. It's in Scum & Villainy but the prerequisites between the write-up and the table don't match. One requires BAB +9 while the other doesn't mention BAB at all.

Like I said, I know how busy you are. You saying we leveled up just reminded me that Loup and I had the conversation, so I figured you'd ask. Personally though, I don't think a ton of work would be necessary? It more results in versatility rather than a direct increase in power since you still can't really get any Talents earlier than you would normally (since one Talent can't count for another at the same level). However, if it's too much it's too much.

Either way, looking forward to continuing this adventure! Garrett is getting some fun stuff this level, and will be able to give some further upgrades to people's gear as well as the ship.

Will do, but I actually had a question. Loup and I had been discussing this at one point (I forget when exactly, but it was before we left school) about bringing up the idea of his rules he's using for his Star Wars game. Namely the gaining two talents per level, stuff like that, but also gaining feats on a Pathfinder curve rather than the original SWSE way. Neither of those things really increases power levels all that much but it lets characters be a little better generalists. I figured now would be a good time to ask, since we're doing stuff with our characters anyway.

I totally understand if you'd rather not (I know how many games you run, after all) but we figured it was worth asking about. I know there are a couple things that, for his character concept, Garrett should probably be able to do but I can't afford to take them as they'd make me deviate from my build.

"I'm always running on overdrive, Rennah. That's how I keep on top of you all." Garrett frowns when Rennah fails to bring the shields up again, and pulls up a display in the gunnery bay. "Rennah, there's a power relay that blew underneath the shield's energy capacitor. That's what's giving you trouble. There's a replacement part in the cabinet to your left. That ought to get them back to full power." Hoping the situation is resolved and he can focus fully on the attacking ships, Garrett drops the display and turns back to his targeting computer.

I believe I should be able to Aid Another on that check, since I only use a standard action to attack. I'm basically incapable of failing the check to aid another, but I'll roll anyway. If it works, that gets Rennah a +2 to her roll, and that gets us to DC.

    Mechanics: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19

"Dammit, I knocked them off-course but they're coming around again." Garrett waits for them to come around again, tracking them the whole time, before they're directly behind the Emissary again. "Rennah, keep trying to get those shields to full power. We're gonna need them at full power here soon when the rest of them show up." At that moment, Garrett's targeting computer blinks once and locks on to the fighter behind them. "I've got you in my sights now... you're going down."

    Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
    Damage: 10d10 ⇒ (10, 4, 2, 2, 5, 10, 1, 7, 10, 2) = 53
    Total of 265 damage.

Yikes! That'll put a hole in a Star Destroyer!

"Yeah, that'll work unless you want the shields to stay up, in which case it definitely won't help at all."

As Errin said, I don't think ion damage bypasses shields and I'm also pretty sure it doesn't go past DR. If it didn't ignore either of those things... that's a lot of damage from an ion cannon. Yikes.

Garrett swivels in his seat and takes aim on the enemy ship following behind them. hoping to blow another of them away. "We don't have a lot of time here! We've got maybe half a minute before another squadron of IRDs are on us. Rennah, can you get those shields up to full strength again? If they can't break our shields that'll give us a better chance at a getaway. Errin and I will try and pick off anyone who gets on our tail."

    Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
    Force Point: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4
    Total of 23.
    Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
    Wow...

    Damage: 5d10 ⇒ (1, 9, 10, 10, 6) = 36
    Total of 180 damage.
    Damage: 5d10 ⇒ (7, 1, 8, 9, 7) = 32
    Total of 160 damage.

    Use Computer: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
    Of course.

I took a shot for last round as well since I never took an action, but if I just count as delaying ignore the second shot I took.

"Not shooting to kill? That's surprising." Garrett swivels around in the gunnery bay, looking into the targeting computer. "We shook two of them, let's see if we can't get them off our tail. Errin, see if you can blow out their engines and leave them adrift. Rennah, see if you can locate their engines for the targeting computer. Kaldo, try and bank left to see if you can line up a shot for me and Errin." He thinks for a second, then his voice comes over the comms again. "Gunnar, see if you can't reach out to them with the Force or something and either throw them off course or at least slow them down."

Kaldo and Rennah can both make checks to give us an aid another; Kaldo can do so while flying and Rennah can do it as a ship attack roll, which is 3+BAB at the moment. I think in starship combat Force power ranges do get extended, but I know using Far Seeing allows you to manipulate things beyond the range of things like Move Object.

"Yeah, sure. I'll take out their engines instead of the cockpits. Most of the time, anyway; you can only be so careful without getting shot." Garrett swivels the turbolaser around to face the incoming ships. <<"Sorry princess, looks like we're gonna have to decline. Nothing personal, but we've already got plans that don't involve rotting in a corporate prison. Maybe we can reschdeule.">> After taunting the commander, he switches back to the Emissary's comms. "Kaldo, gun it!"

<<"Gives us a minute, Princess.">> Garret's voice comes through the comms in the ship before he changes channels, his voice now only transmitting through the ship and not to the blockade. "I suggest we just blow our way through. We could pretend to let them board, but I think they'd suspect a trap. Not to mention, we'd have to lower our shields which makes a getaway a little more stressful. We can try if you want, but I think it's risky."

"Turbolasers are coming online, though. I'm ready to fire when Kaldo's ready to show off some fancy flying."
