Paizo has asked for feedback on their books. If they don't like that feedback, they can go to a closed development cycle. If this is going to be an open development, then people who don't like (or who do like) need to comment. Nobody has told the people that like it 'Shut up! You are teh sux!'. So how about we don't tell people who don't like it to shut up until it's published and over with, ok?

Well, right. But to be fair, It's also been well said that the name "Oracle" is not up for debate. "Summoner," on the other hand, is still indefinite. People seemed to think that because in the initial announcement of the new classes the Summoner name was not set in stone, that they had free rain to try and change ALL the names.

Somewhere in the messageboards at that time, Jason or Erik or someone at Piazo said quite plainly, "We're looking for playtesters, not game designers."

Still don't like the name of "Oracle". What was wrong with "Favored Soul"? WotC doesn't own the name, just the statistics.

Ugh. Favored Soul is too bulky. I think I read somewhere that the developers want to keep class names confined to one-word titles (though admittedly, that might have been 4e designers who wrote that). I am a big supporter of the one-word class names. Otherwise, might as well call them "The Chosen One," or even "Spontaneous divine caster." For the same reason, the class name "Soul Knife" was lame.

The name SHOULD have some historical context, and should reflect (to some degree) the mechanics of the class.

On the Witch: I was wondering about Mystic Theruge as well... Infact, if you qualify for the class with levels in Witch alone, then you could take 1 level in any other caster class and use that as the other caster level bump. That'd at least save 2-3 levels in the multiclassing.

Personally, I'm looking forward to trying a Oracle/Sorcerer/Mystic Theruge.

I think the Oracle name is perfect. It does inspire the "Spontaneous Divine" tone, and adding features like tongues only deepens the flavor. A prophet-like Oracle, with all their divinations, may be one kind of Oracle, but this class covers a much wider breadth than that. At least they're not naming it something REALLY dumb, like "Favored Soul" or some nonsense. :) ...You could just as well argue that the Witch should be a female-only class, based on historical connotations; but there is room for interpretation with all these classes.

Speaking of the Witch, I love the idea of sharing divine/arcane spells. I imagine the Witch would have to prepare spells, since two spell sources make for a lot of spells on the spell list, but spontaneous casting seem more the Witch's flavor. While the familiars are a cool touch, I hope they're not overdone.

The Inquisitor does fit a nice niche. Depending on the options presented, this seems like it could be a great Urban Ranger or a PFRPG interpretation of the Avenger.

The Caviler seems to fill a nice hole as well. Though, I will begrudgingly admit that the name isn't one that resounds fully with me, I'm sure after talking about it for a year I'll get used to it. This feels like a Knight, Marshall or PFRPG interpretation of the Warlord.

Not eagerly awaiting the Summoner or Alchemist, but they certainly do a nice job of rounding out the new base classes.

I'm really hoping that there's a key somewhere. Even a good fan-made one. Simply because I don't want to give out an item card when I think it matches, only to find out an item is described later on that it would have matched better.

While I realize not every item (especially potions!) can be item-carded, having a list of what goes where in the Second Darkness Item Card Set would give me a lot of flexibility to add other item cards where the set is lacking.

While the art doesn't match perfectly (Saul's key, for example) it's at least recognizable-- but all the other keys could be any of the many keys in the AP.

Here's hoping someone has an answer. :)

Is there a list to itemize which item cards were intended for use with which treasure in Second Darkness?

I'm currently running SD, but we are still in adventure 1, and while I've skimmed through the upcoming books, I haven't read all the treasure from each one yet. I'd hate to to give out a crossbow card in adventure 1, only to realize that there is a really cool crossbow in adventure 5 that was waiting for my PCs that the art was intended for!

Thanks for the help!
