Greetings folks,

I have been checking the forum a bit for a pirate type character like buccaneer or swashbuckler but basically what I want to create is a character for PFS that will be a retired pirate whom went ashore after years of swinging a cutlas and flashing his gun.

Pretty broad terms I know. In game play terms a combat minded character that isnt super optimized however not completely dead weight either, focusing on four things
1) being for PFS (incl. all the restrictions)
2) being Human (he needs to have a large beard)
3) Cutlas wield (thats what real pirates use btw I know its not good)
4) using Pistol

and if possible the last 2 at the same time in close combat (which probably will require some kind of DEX build)

do load up your minds with class/multiclasses, feats and skills.

Hope you folks can come up with a great one.

Hiya,

First off I have checked out the forum, and didn't find the ruling on this a bit strange topic.

We have today argued about Mithral usage in Kikko armour.
What bonus did it give?
Many claim the standard mithral bonus of course, however I argued for something completely different = NO bonus.

here is why:

To provide a bonus the primary component of the item in question should be metal. Kikko is a cloth armour reenforced with metal plates.
Yes you could have the metals made in mithral even not covered by cloth. While it would look shining the armour would still be a cloth armor with metal and not a metal armour with cloth around.

I know many would dislike this reading the rules since Bards and the like benefit GREATLY of a mithral kikko armour.

Rules stats I believe:
Items not primarily of metal are not meaningfully affected by being partially made of mithal

I therefore hope to get a ruling on the subject : Are Kikko Armours Metal with cloth (hence usable for Mithral bonus) or Cloth with metal (hence NOT usable for Mithral bonus)

thanks in advance

Greetings people.

I have like many of you been playing around with some different builds trying to find a playable and usable PFS character.
My latest is my Samurai Ronin Sword Saint character who have complete his first adventure.

Idea is to keep him somewhat a samurai, but as I do not have a product like Hero lab (yet) then building the character is basically "just" on paper, which often ends up being a problem in the long run. Therefore I drop my thoughts here and hope people have an opinion.

Goal with the character is as mentioned a damage dealer for PFS. I dislike min/max in general but have accepted it somewhat none the less.

Anyway here goes

class:

level 1-6 Samurai Ronin Sword Saint
level 7-8 Ranger Trapper
level 9-11 Samurai Ronin Sword Saint
level 12 fighter (?archtype)

Stat:

Str 18
Dex 13
Con 14
Int 12
Wis 12
Cha 8

+1 dex at 4th (I don't have Deep Red Sphere (Ioun Stone) else +str)
+1 str at 8th/12th

Feat and Class stuff:

level 1
Power Attack
Weapon Focus (Katana)
Challenge 1/day
Resolve
Iaijutsu
Order (Ronin)

level 2
Self Reliant

level 3
Weapon Focus (Wakizashi)
Weapon Expertise

level 4
Brutal Slash

level 5
Weapon Spec (Katana)
Terrifying Iaijutsu

level 6
Furious Focus

level 7 (Ranger level 1)
Weapon Spec (Wakizashi)
Favorite Enemy (Human?)
Track
Wild Empathy
Trapfinding

level 8
TwoWeapon fighting

level 9
Double Slice

level 10
Without Master

level 11
Greater Resolve

level 12 (Fighter level 1)
Toughness
Iron Will

Item needed:

Boots of Speed (additional attack)
Deep Red Sphere (Ioun Stone) +2 Dex (for getting to Dex 15)
Headbane of Inspiring Wisdom +? (for additional save)
Belt of Giant Strength +4 (for damage)
+1 Keen Katana
+1 Keen Wakizashi

Idea is simply to challenge the "mighty" foe use iaijutsu as opening then quick draw wakizashi with activated boots

To hit will be a bit low and I will not benefit from 1.5damage from 2h wield (except in opening) however with the high crit thread (15-20 on both) I believe the damage output will be pretty good anyways.
AC will be low with Tatami-Do +2 or something, but as secondary fighter it wont matter much.
Saves which aren't the samurais best will be fort+13 ref+10 will+8 to this of course could come cloaks, rings or what else could aid

Anyway thoughts ?

Greetings follow PFers.

I recently got Animate Dead (undead Sorcerer) and realized that during a PFS session it can be really time consuming to "animate" the opponent and fill out a companion sheet for the specific creature.

I along with my Venture Captain have then decided to have some generic templates ready for use when ever my Sorc Animate someone.

Question is then - have anyone made such templates ready for printout (some they of course would like to share).

I am not talking about all kind of variants just the basic Skeleton/Zombie versions. My character is currently level 9 (incl. Undead Master) so he counts as a 13th level in terms if HD animated which is a neat extra bonus.

I hope one or some of you have been thru this before and therefore made some template that can be reused quickly.

thanks a bunch in advance.
