Many factors and elements influence who you were growing up and who you eventually became. Of these factors, your homeworld or place of origin holds considerable importance in your development as an individual; a childhood spent in a crowded city of 100 million people molds you far differently than if you had spent your formative years on a starship or a frontier world. The character theme you choose during character creation, such as ace pilot or mercenary, describes your development upon reaching adulthood. What about your life before that point? How did it shape your personality and talents?

This sourcebook contains:

- Twelve origin traits for you to choose from to help describe your character’s birth place, home world, or other form of upbringing including Belter, Conscript, Experiment, Hunted, Megalopolis and Scavenger.

Along the edge of known space, the planet Imbrikar IV orbits a cool, dim star. Because of the world’s distance from the sun, its surface remains shrouded in twilight. This world, referred to as Imbrikar Prime, exists in perpetual shadow. Every form of life there has adapted and evolved to survive these conditions. Not surprisingly, most aliens find this a depressing and grim locale and try to limit the length of their visit.

The imbrikari, a large ursine species, rose to become the dominant sentients on their planet. With resources scarce and life difficult under the best of conditions, they evolved to thrive with what they had available. Most notably, they learned to hunt and kill the many lethal animals roaming the pale forests and shadowed plains of their homeworld. The discovery of other worlds and other species led the imbrikari to become among the galaxy’s most renowned and effective bounty hunters.

A new form of technology, outlawed on dozens of worlds, combines nanites with ancient necromantic magic to produce serums and devices known as necrotech. As with many tools, necrotech offers both good uses and potentially destructive ones. This technology can, for example, save a patient from otherwise mortal wounds; it has demonstrated its usefulness in trauma wards and on the battlefield. On the other hand, such devices can serve more sinister purposes, including the animation of corpses into undead, the spreading of plagues, and destroying a creature’s brain one memory at a time.

Here are a number of necrotech items for use by individuals willing to overlook their more ghoulish potential. In general, most civilized worlds ban the sale and distribution of such devices, so acquiring them often involves underground illicit markets or dealing with shady arms dealers. Ownership, sale, or transportation of necrotech may carry severe criminal penalties, so let the buyer beware.

This sourcebook contains:

- Ann nearly ten new items including Ghoul Grenade, Affliction Extractor, Brute Serum, Wraith Cloak and Zombie Override.

- Necrotech Weapon Fusions including Andromeda Coag and Consuming

Whether hurtling in a starship through interstellar space or exploring an alien world on foot, adventurers must confront many different threats and hazards. Of these, radiation is one of the most insidious yet frequent. The core rules provide information regarding radiation, including its hazards, methods to detect it, and ways to cure its effects. Given the vast size and scope of the universe and the existence of magic, it should come as no surprise that radiation occurs in many unusual forms. These different types of radiation, referred to as exotic radiation, sometimes occur in regions struck by catastrophic events or reality-shattering magic.

This sourcebook contains the following: Radiation Effects, New Radiation Types: Anarchic (“Gremlin Radiation”), Chronal, Dimensional and Necromantic.

Magitech, the term used to describe the blending of magic and technology, has improved the lives of millions of creatures. Once viewed as incompatible, these combined areas of discovery have cured diseases, powered planets, and enhanced the speed and reliability of travel and communication. Unfortunately, despite the bewildering array of life-saving tools it has brought to market, magitech has also unleashed its share of destruction and misery in the form of phased plague bombs, cursed ammunition, and other horrors. The worst such hybrid items include the banned relics collectively known as necrotech—a blending of technology and necromancy. Here are nine new hybrid items for use in campaigns, both as tools in the hands of villains as well as loot for victorious adventurers. In addition to the benefits and powers each item grants, several of them carry downsides intended to make life interesting for player characters.

This sourcebook contains the following: Brain-in-a-Jar; Burrower Seed Pod; Curse Daemon; Infernal Mote; Mind’s Eye Spider; Mutagen, Unstable; Slip-Skin (Changeling suit); Undead Symbiont; and Zombie Mist
