Lem, a Bard
|
Once everyone is in the room and preparing to sleep, Lem checks over the room again, just to make sure there are no obvious threats in there with them. Once happy that they're alone (with Brother Celluan) he barricades the doors as best he can and gets ready to sleep.
"Give us a shout if anything else shows up, kind Brother." he requests with a tired smile before closing his eyes.
Bodluk
|
Woops sorry I think a post of mine got eaten.
Bodluk tires himself out still trying to eat the ghost food. He tackles it from every angle but never manages a satisfying bite. Eventually he gives up, falling asleep in his robes at the feet of Brother Celluan, snoring loudly as the ghost food is prepared all around him.
"Ghost food make Bodluk sleepy." He yawns as Ugly joins him for a long much needed rest.

Aqua joins Bodluk in finding an empty place to curl up in and goes to sleep.

Brother Celluan isn't overly quiet, but he at least leaves you in some peace and you are able to sleep on the floor of the dining area. When you finally wake, he's making some delicious looking omelets, but you get the same effect of passing right through them when you try to eat them.
Make any daily prep you need. With the downtime and your healing abilities, everyone is at full health and full focus points.
Coming out of the room, you continue down the corridor coming to another room at the corner of the corridor. A pair of beautifully engraved doors stand at this end of the hall. The doors are covered in meticulously carved stars, forming the constellations of the heavens, gilded in such a way that they seem to move with every shifting view. In the center, the handles form the two halves of a prismatic butterfly, its thorax composing a complex locking mechanism.
Bodluk, Aqua, and Lem all agree that while the lock can probably be picked physically, it was sealed with magic and so trying to open it with magic might be easier.
The lock can be attempted with Thievery, Arcana, Occultism, Nature, or Religion checks. 3 successes are needed. No one appears trained in Religion, right?

Bodluk is able to use his skill with Nature magic to release the magical protections before Gock can manipulate the final physical latch. The door opens to a simple vault that the clerics used to keep valuables.
The counters lining both walls are worn with age and covered in dust, though they were clearly once cared for and well organized. Each drawer and cabinet bears a faded label on the front and everything within seems to have a designated place, even if the vials and boxes along the counters seem to be empty.
A search immediately turns up a drawer labeled “Medical Supplies” along the right wall. Inside this drawer are two minor healing potions and one elixir of life. A separate drawer labeled “Spare Keys” is also immediately obvious, though this drawer is stuck.

Leaving the vault, you continue down the corridor to find a locked door on the left. You are able to use the key you found in the footlocker of the room with the giant flies, and it opens right up.
This chamber is a spacious bedroom with a bed along one wall, a bookshelf along the other, and a small tub opposite the entryway. The room is in a state of disarray with bedding thrown on the floor and several torn books strewn about the shelf. Strange, black claw marks scar the floor and walls. Two rotting, human corpses lie in the center of the room, each bearing similar marks.
Once you enter the room, the corpses animate. One is intact, but other other was torn apart, so several body parts begin to move on their own.
