"Oh, dear, no, no ghosts. Not here at least. There are rumors about Lady Tula's crypt. It lies a few miles outside of town. No one goes there anymore." The woman stands and dusts her smock off. "No, Mister Hunclay had special rites because," she lowers her already soft funeral-voice a touch, "because the Arch-Banker was afraid..."

Ritti makes a warding gesture at the news of ghosts and the Arch-Banker’s fears. ”I was thinking about tramping the lands a bit, but I don’t want to chance upon any ghosts. Where is Lady Tula’s crypt, so I can avoid that area? And are there any other spots I should steer clear of?”

"Oh, and Bumolin heard some stories from the folks on the northside about a flying Batman or something. You ever hear anything about that? Not sure if it's related to the giant wolf reported up there. It does sound like a lot is going on around here."

I think Bumolin had wanted to ask the Abadarans about Batman as well, but our dwarf has been unusually quiet of late.

sry, kinda dropped out of my habbit of checking daily for updates for some reason.

When they arrive at Bassys place, Bumolin asks with a rather sheepish expression, if he might take Abon inside. "It's just...I'm a bit afraid for your garden, if we leave him outside alone. His digging hasn't been very successfull for the last few hours and such an assortment of fine vegetables presented in neat little rows - I fear it will be too much of a temptation... But if you might have some kitchenscraps, he will probably be content to take a nap in the hallway..."

handle animals - to make Abon behave: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

During dinner Bumolin is especially interested in the sausages, savoring the taste and asking their host about the seasoning - sharing his own rather rustic recipes, which rely heavily on herbs native to his mountain-home.

To Xylas' mention of the bat-thing he says:
"I wouldn't make such a fuss about it, if it were just children's tales. Abon and I have... convinced ourselves and I have no doubt that they saw, what they are telling." he taps the side of his rather ugly, chunky nose meaningfully.
"And I'm also rather convinced that the wolf is something different: what those hunters told me , points to a rather big, but otherwise 'ordinary' direwolf. That's dangerous enough in itself, but that would mean there is no planning involved in what he's doing. Just a very big predator, following it's instincts."

Aleksara mutters to herself it seems while picking at dirt under her fingernails, but loud enough for the others to hear easily if they cared.

"Imps? Strange Bat-men? Dire Wolves? Kobolds being bold? If I didn't know better I would think there was something bigger going on in town, but I can't see a conspiracy for the life of me in all this nonsense. How often do things like this happen around here I wonder...?"

She ends by shaking her head sadly and looking up suddenly at a few odd glances from her companions.

"What? Did I say something out loud? I really wasn't paying attention to my mouth...Sorry. It happens sometimes when I'm ruminating and tired...and hungry. Excuse me..."

She reaches out to grab food and drink and find a quiet corner to be a little embarrassed in.

"We sure appreciate all the history and the delicious food, Bassy. Hey, if you're interested, we've got a plaque from the dungeon you might like for your collection- big piece of bronze embossed with a rooster over crossed spears. I bet that's the Canteclures crest, huh? That reminds me, there was a mechanical man down in the dungeon that obeyed whoever had that crest. Anyway, if you're interested, maybe we could trade you that crest for a potion of healing?"

"I'm not too worried about the kobolds, but having a potion like that might be handy in a pinch if we're fighting dire wolves and mysterious batmen as well."

"Little I care for the kobold's combat-craft and drake-born dweomers. All shall fall before this fight-flame!" He pats his sword hilt.

Aleksara coughs up a bit of scone, laughing.

“Spells? Fighting? I’m more worried of the kobolds’ incessant traps. It’s almost a religious need with them. Can your sword deal with those?”

Thorfinn nods slowly. "In truth, their traps call for cunning of our own. 'Bare is brotherless back,' say the sagas, so steadfast I'll stand to shield those sure in siege-crafting, taming the traps so the fight be fought fairly."

"Funny you say that. Ritti said something similar today and first I couldn't see what she means. But then we smelled the trail of that bat thing and when I looked into the direction where the trail got lost, I was looking straight at that old ruined tower. We also met the Kobolds and the crowthing there. So maybe those things are connected somehow...anyway - whatever we do, we should hurry. If this bat-thing has not killed his victims already, they are probably running out of time."
