The gregori steps forward and takes his first cautious step into the dwelling.

Eric ponders the question.
I am but a mortal, my frame of reference is inherently limited, and, almost be design, I am compelled to compare myself and to see myself to my peers, my expected lifetime being to short for gaining a more objective frame of reference.
He pauses.
I would, naively perhaps because I am no mindreader and I cannot possibly know what others are thinking, assume that it is the same for other mortals, or at least for most of them.
We all suffer defeats and setbacks in our lives, some more then others, suffering such defeats jointly spreads the weight of a setback across multiple shoulders, sometimes even to the point where the weight become low enough that it works as a training exercize rather then a crushing blow.
This is, of course, both a contradiction, since such cooperation is not competetive, but in many cases, the strength of those who compete with me can also protect me against greater threats, as I would be willing to protect them in turn.
Which leads to the interesting question of what characterizes a "greater threat". Probably the inability or unwillingness to negotiate and cooperate with it, either on their or on our part, under the expectation that such negotiations would not end in inevitable betrayal?
I hope this made a small degree of sense? I am unused yet to telepathic communication. Perhaps we can meet in person at some point? I am genuinely curious. After all, if you were hostile to me you would not announce your presence, and if you can speak in my mind your power likely considerably exceeds mine.

Seeing Stormborn go dipping into the river as well as seeing the others step into the Wreck itself, Morelda reluctantly follows in after them.

As Eric pushes open the door, the buzzing of wings attached to the bulbous bodies of stirges appear in front of the party. Roll for initiative !

I think its efficent to make use of Erics AoOs. We have some ranged firepower, they dont.

Depending on how close the buzzing flyers get towards her, Morelda may just try for a move and cast upon her turn after the stirges and Thurin take their turn.

Were there only 3 stirges in total? Lorel got one of them with a confirmed acid dissolve and Eric might've gotten the second with one of his Aoo's? With Mossbeard's high hit number, it might seem that the third stirge got unlucky?
Heartened by the initial dissolving of one of those flying creatures via a well-timed acid shot by Lorel, Morelda's earlier panicked-thinking-mode starts subsiding to more manageable levels now.
From what I can tell, we've got them outnumbered; hopefully the others can get the remaining ones dealt with in short order.
