Lazarus watches the two matches along with Chkirri. The warrior-monk not as invested as the bard, but he roots for Tina's Toughest too.
Seeing the ease of victory from both teams only enforces their need for flawless victories themselves.
He claps Chkirri on the shoulder.
Was that today's lunch money?

HP 246, AC 42*, F30/R30/W32* Male tengu bard 20

Chkirri sighs. It was bets -- or at least the outcomes -- like that that got him into trouble far too often.

"Just a little spending cash. But if you want to buy?" he says with a smile.

Khorash gives a flourishing bow to the Arms of Balance, ”An excellent opponent to return myself to the fray of glory with.”

Though elated from his victory, he finds himself with a slight pang of, well, sadness.

When the team is gathered together he says to them, ”Well, my association with you all has been brief so far but I feel we have the potential for victory. And yet I have lost my ability to celebrate it how I used to, namely fine spirits, good food, and a long, hot bath. With no skin to soak or stomach to feed or liver to strain, those pleasures are lost to me. If you would indulge a bony old fool such as myself, I would ask that you do what I can no longer feel. Celebrate well that I might remember how it is to celebrate victory.”

He counts out some coin from his winnings and says, ”Now, I’ve a mind to show this town that I can be the unlife of the party, if anyone would care to join me?”

HP 246, AC 42*, F30/R30/W32* Male tengu bard 20

"Sure!" Chkirri says, happy to spend a night out on the town, enjoying his celebrity (and maybe making a few more wagers).

Curious, he asks as they wander: "Can you enjoy anything now?"

"You know, I'm not quite sure! I intend to find out though."

You celebrate with a night on the town before retiring to your quarters well past midnight to get some rest.

The third day of the tournament begins the next morning! After your morning preparations, you head to the Ruby Arena. The crowd is as amped up as ever, eager to see you clash against the Speakers to the Winds.

You take your place on the field of battle, and the team from the Magaambya lines up across from you. Professor Mafika Ayuwari raises his staff in salute to you. "May the best team win!" he calls. Beside him, the halfling Akila Stormheel toys with her leopard mask before settling it over her face, polymorphing into a big cat. The gnolls Boundless Hummingbird and Phuthi Nuware double-check their spell component pouches, while gnome Surjit Hamelan readies his bow. Behind them all, the elf Umbasi clears their throat as they prepare to recite an inspiring tale.

Tagada Emmi flies overhead, whipping the crowd into a frenzy with her fiery speech. "Here we go, ladies, gentlemen, and non-gender-specific beings! It's time for the first match of the winner's bracket! Who will bask in the glory of victory today? It's time to clash! Victorious Secret versus the Speakers to the Wind! Ready? FIGHT!"

Storm Adder's battle cry demoralizes Akila, but the Magaambyans quickly spring into action. Boundless Hummingbird casts haste upon the entire team, while Phuthi casts unfettered pack, allowing the team to ignore difficult terrain. Both gnolls raise a shield of force as well. Umbasi casts zealous conviction on the team, then begins to inspire defense in their allies.

44 piercing damage to Storm Adder and he is grabbed (Escape DC 35). Everybody else is within the area of a punishing winds spell (DC 41). Everybody may act!

After recovering from the battle, you head to Icefang Aerie for today's exhibition match--the great drake race! The race consists of two heats, with four teams racing in each heat. For your heat, your opponents are the Steps of the Sun, Tino’s Toughest, and the Lightkeepers.

Each team’s goal is to complete a circuit around Goka’s large harbor, starting at Icefang Aerie, circling north around the Guillotine and Heads and then the Isle of Endless Fortune, skirting west around the Xielan Island, then along Shelyn’s Comb and the statues at Xu Hong Bay before returning to the Aerie. The team whose chariot completes the circuit and returns to the finish line first wins. The competitors are free to attack one another, but can’t purposefully harm the drakes (catching a drake in a fireball or similar area spell, for example, is fine, but targeting only the drakes with the fireball is not).

Lady Qiu gives all the teams a brief presentation on how to pilot their chariots, but she assures the competitors that their highly trained drakes will take care of most of the work. Since none of the teams have any experience piloting sky chariots, no one is at a particular advantage or disadvantage.

As you board your chariots and prepare to depart, Tino waves at you from his team's chariot. The Lightkeepers fix you with angry glares.

"It's a beautiful day for a race, folks!" Tagada Emmi shouts, her voice magically amplified to echo across the city. Throngs of people occupy the streets and rooftops to watch the race. "Ready? Three! Two! One! GO!!!"

Chase Rules:
This exhibition match uses Pathfinder’s chase subsystem. On the player characters’ turn, a character can either roll a check to overcome the current obstacle or they can perform some other action such as casting a spell, attacking a rival team, or using a special ability.

A character can cast haste or any other spell that quickens the drake or increases their fly Speed to automatically gain 1 Chase Point against any obstacle. Effects that confer the slowed condition, stunned condition, or a Speed penalty cost the affected team 1 Chase Point. A team can gain or lose a maximum of 1 Chase Point from either such effects (meaning that one type of effect essentially cancels out the other). Ranged effects used on other teams generally can’t reach beyond the same obstacle unless they have a range of 1,000 feet or more. Close-range effects, including melee attacks, can be used only against a team at the same obstacle.

Damage: Rather than tracking each racer’s Hit Points, record the amount of damage the player characters deal to each team per turn. For every 50 points of damage a team takes in a single turn, that team loses 1 Chase Point on their next turn (so, for example, a team that takes 70 points of damage on the same turn gains only 1d4+1 Chase Points on their turn, but if they took 100 points of damage they’d gain only 1d4 Chase Points on their next turn, and so on).

Other Teams’ Actions: Each opposing team automatically earns 1d4+2 Chase Points on their turn.

Creatures: Each sky chariot is pulled by four or six drake coursers. Tournament emissaries stationed at each obstacle ensure none of the teams cheat, and Grand Judge Hao Jin waits at the finish line to declare the match’s winner. Crowds of spectators have gathered along Goka’s shoreline to watch the race.

Obstacles: This chase consists of six obstacles. Each obstacle takes place over Goka’s harbor. A team must clear all of the obstacles in order to reach the finish line and win.

SEVEN DRAGONS: Huge metal hoops have been hung along the towers of the Seven Dragons Bridge, through which each team must pass through in order to proceed. Although the hoops have been arranged in a straight line, there is little room for error, and the wind moves the hoops unpredictably.

Chase Points 5; Overcome DC 32 Survival or Sailing Lore to predict the movement of the hoops based on the wind pattern, DC 34 Acrobatics to tilt the chariot in response to movements of the hoops, DC 36 Athletics to grab the reins and guide the drakes through the hoops by force.

Somehow, Khorash was born for this. He drives the sky chariot like a natural, even performing stunts and tricky maneuvers to wow the audience. Showmanship, after all, is his greatest talent.

As Khorash guides the drake, Storm Adder looks back at the competition. Just as the Lightkeepers are about to fly through a hoop, he flicks a hand in the hoop's direction, sending a blast of air that alters its position.

Lazarus bows to each Steps of the Sun, Tino’s Toughest, and the Lightkeepers. The Warrior-monk then boards the chariot with a wink at the audience.
Let us hope the winds are ever favorable to us.

Lazarus roars with Gorilla pride, as he pounds his chest and grins at The Light Keeper. The Warrior-monk then does something both wonderful and never seen before, targeting 3 of them, as both chariots fly towards the hoops!

3 CRITS perhaps? Been wanting to use that Ability but got stuck in that Wind Barrier forever...lol.

Through a combination of magical abilities and Khorash's innate skills, you quickly navigate through the rings, nearly reaching the end of the obstacle. You steer close to the Lightkeepers' chariot, where Lazarus trades blows with the frost goblin Ran-to, significantly hindering the enemy team.

Chkirri's voice falls into a quick cadence as he begins calling out the action, his words drawing the attention of Tino's Toughest and the Lightkeepers.

"And Steps of the Sun has pulled into the lead, with Victorious Secret close on their heels! The plucky Tino's Toughest is keeping pace, but the Lightkeepers are falling behind! Victorious Secret pulling hard around the hoops, and their drake wings are beating hard. Tino's Toughest, coming up around the corner, while the Lightkeepers try to keep pace in their janky chariot; I think the wings may be coming off one of their drakes! ... "

Cast enthrall!
