Pathfinder Adventures Sagas
The idea behind Sagas is to create a meta-game reward not related to any Adventure Path. This is inspired by the old CCG Mythos. Complete the story by encountering or defeating the cards underlined. Check them off as you encounter them. Once you have completed the Saga you will be rewarded with a special item/power/etc. Below are examples of Sagas I’ve created from my own collection. Some guidelines to keep in mind when creating your own:
• All cards need to be available to be encountered in the Adventure Path’s box.
• All cards need to be the same level as the Saga.
• There should be 3 locations to keep it more likely to span multiple scenarios.
• The rewards should be pretty awesome. Not ‘completed an Adventure” big, but big enough to make it worth looking for the Saga’s required cards across multiple scenarios’ play. Basic weapon – no. Loot, cohort, mythic path – yes please.
Examples of how the cards I made look are on boardgamegeek:

I would love for the community to come up with new Sagas to share. We could use Sagas based on the stock Adventure Paths so they are available to everyone that has that AP. Some related to the supplement decks would be cool - I'm dying to make one for the Ultimate Combat deck!

Base level Sagas
Mjorning Star :
Following my Treasure Map☐, I followed the trail from the Cemetery☐, where I had to fight a Plague Zombie☐. I rode down the Abyssal River☐ to the Befouled Altar☐. After a long search I found the fabled Warhammer +1☐ they call Mjorning Star!
Reward :
Choose a boon from your deck and treat it as a cohort from now until the card is banished.
Adventurer’s Backpack :
Collect the following set:
"Adventurer's Backpack"
☐ Flaming Mace +1
☐ Magic Shield
☐ Chainmail
☐ Potion of Healing
☐ Masterwork Tools
☐ Detect Evil
Reward :
Select any non-basic Boon from the box and add it to your deck.
The Old Man :
I was on Shark Island☐ when I was caught in a storm. I fought my way through a Merfolk☐ den and eventually found an old house in the Sea Caves☐. An old man greeted me, and after a time he showed me a the Amulet of Life☐. I explained to him the Blessing of Iomedae☐ I had been given. He got angry and summoned a Ghost☐ before disappearing into the night!
Reward:
Random weapon with the Magic and Elite attributes
The Shadow of Golarion :
I was broke in Sandpoint Cathedral☐ and headed to a small town on the coast near the Warrens☐ after receiving a letter from old Acolyte☐. Once there I found a Rat Swarm in the fog at night and the cult of Dagon casting a Firey Glare☐ spell. I ran, though, when the Cecaelia☐ came out of the sea in response to the cult.
Reward :
Select any spell with the Elite attribute and add it to your deck.
The Hunt :
I was in a tavern near Merchant Marina☐ where I heard about the item from an old farmer. The old man left me to deal with a Skeleton Horde☐ but I found the location of my hunt. I found a Dragon Pistol☐ in the darkness to defeat the Derakni☐. The old grimoire contained a translation of the Life Drain☐ spell and the final resting place of the ancient Horn of Battle Clarity☐.
Reward :
Choose a boon from your deck and treat it as a cohort from now until the card is banished.

I once did similar homebrew stuff for S&S, though I called it Treasure Hunts (the idea being - you collect/follow map to find treasure - an activity that was awfully underrepresented in S&S. I mean - may that *was* a reflection of the RPG path or something, but for Besmara's sake - we're playing pirates here! Come on!)
It was a resounding success amongst my players, an while I'm unlikely to dedicate the time to do something like that again - I would *really* love in one day we see something like those Sagas in the official Game!
