Hi folks this is an invite only table (sorry!)
Here's the Player's Guide, lets discuss our plans here.
| Yukarii |
This will be the profile I am using and please ignore the stat lines as they aren't corrected from the previous incarnation yet.
I will make sure Antogonize isn't too much. It can only work on one target at a time IIRC and the dc is based on a skill check made as part of it.
The archetype replaces the following three spell like abilities the Spiritualist gets:
Detect Undead; Calm Spirit; See Invisibility; Call Spirit
They are replaced with ones thematically appropriate to the particular emotion.
| Zendara |
This is the profile I am going to use (but haven't changed it to this game yet, so ignore the current profile stats, etc.).
I am still planning on Ranger/Bard, but it seems like we are already heavy on skills/magic, so I am going to make a slightly more traditional bard so I can do more support, and probably go with the Arrowsong Minstrel archetype instead of Archaeologist, so at least I will have Inspire Courage. Then, probably going to take Freebooter/Divine Archer for the Ranger side so I get in the archery and the pirate/professional sailor stuff, maybe signing on as the airship captain if no one else was aiming for that. ... Are there Airship Pirates? I am thinking that might be part of this character's background if that is allowed.
Freebooter Ranger gives swimming, which doesn't apply to an airship, but hopefully it will come in handy elsewhere. The cool thing about that archetype is that it trades the animal companion for some nice additional group bonuses, which can come in handy especially when I am also a Bard and the Ranger bonuses are untyped, so they should stack with Bard bonuses.
Also, can we get a gameplay tab just so we can dot and delete? That way it shows up on my Campaigns tab and I can see if it has been updated.
Also, since I am probably not going to be doing an archaeologist background, I might do a different variant ability. Stay tuned. :)

Yukarii I'm really going to have to read up on Spiritualists but that sounds intriguing. Do you have a personality type in mind?
Lizzie alchemist/investigator will have no problem hitting things and will likely be pretty powerful without being over the top. Are you going for a Sherlock Holmes style character? If so the empiricist archetype is probably a good idea. You could also consider a 1 level dip in inspired blade swashbuckler (that gels very well with investigator) and brings some solid combat abilities.
Zendara Ranger Bard sounds fine! I like the Arrowsong Minstrel archetype and inspire courage will be very useful. Yes there are defiantly Airship pirates, they're more of a problem the further away from the core you get. Oh and speaking of archetypes did you see the Sky Stalker? That's one AC that would actually be rather useful although I can agree with the appeal of freebooter :)
PCScipio we're using 25 pt buy, I've updated the doc. Ratfolk sounds fine, there are almost none of them in the core but are semi-common inside the merchant league.
I've created a campaign and a gameplay thread. You can dot and delete so you get updates.

With the Fractured Mind, rather than attracting a "true" phantom, one is born of the Spiritualist's own mind. My view is something traumatic happened that caused her mind to break at one point to protect herself generating her lust phantom. I'll work on a more detailed story this weekend.
Personality Yukarii is very interested in learning more about her own abilities and the past and, while personable, has generally no interest in relationships. The phantom, we'll call her Yukaari for now, is the inverse. Yukaari wants very much to satisfy their urges for pleasure and constantly tries to push Yukarii to do so, whispering incessantly in her ear about "what they should be doing".
When both Yukarii and Yukaari are merged together their personality becomes a hybrid of their separate ones. This could lead to others thinking there are multiple personalities in her if they don't know any better.
I'll have more details once i get everything written out.

@ GM
Empiricist was my go to investigator choice already. ;)
The character i was going for, would have been a well learned (in several fields of knowledge) past graduate, with a particular interest in flight and airships. A fine spot for an aspiring engineer.
The consideration of slayer was mainly on better HD, BaB and talents. I was sort of worried over combat potential at high lvl, regular AC considered.
....studied death attack was appealing an aspect too, tbh. ^^

PCScipio I'll sort out the first post in a bit for the gameplay thread, hopefully forestall any issues.
Yukarii/Yukaari sounds very cool and reminds me of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, which in turn reminds me of the Master Chymist archetype. I'm not sure if that fits Yukarii mind you! Another thing to mention, have you considered having a figment familiar?

Other ways to get familiars in case you want one:
* Wizard with arcane bond
* Sorcerer with the arcane bloodline
* Alchemist with tumor familiar
* Rogue with the familiar advanced talent
* Magus with the familiar arcana
* Magical child for vigilantes
* Dutettist bard
* Bonded investigator for investigator
* Eldritch Guardian for fighter
* Chosen One Paladin
* Divinely Bound Ranger for ranger
* Swarm Monger druid
* Eldritch Heritage and take arcane bloodline
* Rogue Carnivalist Familiar Bond
* Cleric Monkey, Eagle & Crocodile Domains. None of these currently has a god although the Eagle definitely should.
* Tattooed sorcerer
* Shaman's Spirit Animal
* Vigilantes with the Cabalist and Warlock Archetypes can take a Familiar as a Talent
* Seasinger Bard gets a monkey or parrot at level 2
There's probably more.

Yeah, any number of ways to get one, I just usually avoid them. Only time I went out of my way to get one was in the living campaign I play (Legends of the Shining Jewel). I have a sky elf (elf with wings) sorceress who took a campaign feet to have a familiar. Tempesta Stormwing is a stormborn sorceress who flies around with her falcon familiar Chickadee.
Modeled Tempesta off of Brittany from Glee (for those who've seen the show). She is smart just ditzy and incredibly gullible while Chickadee is the one tasked with keeping her sorceress out of trouble.
