the man looks awkwardly back at you.
"Uh, yeah. Serpi is... Hmm..."
he wipes off the board, and traces the charcoal across it, drawing out a crude map showing four sets of small houses, and circles one district.
"Alright, he's somewhere in this district..."
he puts a dot on the crude map.
"And you're here. If you don't mind, what kind of animal are you?"
he pauses for a moment.
"Ah, but i just wrote on your way of speaking, didn't i...."
Fanz shakes his head and points to his ear.
::This is me. I don't do this immediately because it scares some people. Thank you for the map. And I'm a squirrel. Don't you have squirrels here?::
He cocks his head to the side for his question.
the man reels back for a moment, before he realizes what just happened.
"Ah, cool. No, not that I've seen... You're like old nerri, aren't you?"
Fanz exhales slightly in amusement.
:: Ya. That's why. Huh. No squirrels. Odd. Who is Nerri?::
"She's a python. Been around longer then most of us can remember, and is big enough she isn't allowed anywhere near the city under normal circumstances. she can talk to people's minds, like you,"
::Oh. Interesting... I'm glad I'm not that big. Anyways, have a nice day, thank you for the map.::
He bows slightly and heads back to his friends.

Pyro flies around looking for information about the town's military. Any big walls around the town? How well armed are the guards, how many guards are there at each gate? Any big barracks?
"Cool, well then, let us be off"
the biggest building is the teleport room. There don't seem to be many guards. There are one or two guards at each gate, and more patrolling the walls. They spend most of their time shooing animals away. The town doesn't seem to have well-set boundaries, but there are walls. Some people live in trees around the walls, but most live inside them.
those of you who follow fanz find a smaller district of town. With a little bit of looking, you find serpi's house. It's not too spectacular, but it's still a nice building.
Well then time to be diplomatic.
Helix cracks his knuckles and heads to the door knocking firmly three times before rocking back and forth on his heels.
a crash can be heard after you know i the door! followed by a thud.
"Sorry! Coming, coming!"
after a few minutes, a man dressed sloppily with horribly messed up hair comes to the door.
"Gah, sorry, i wasn't excepting visitors."
"Yeah, I'm serpi. Come in, come in."
his house is an absolute mess! and he seems to have been working on some furnishings when you showed up.
"So, why are you here?"
::We were sent on official business. We have a letter for you that should explain things, as we don't know so much ourselves.::
"Really? You don't look the type... Also, I'm sorry you can't fit in here."
::It's OK. I'm used to it.::
Fanz has his head in the doorway which means that there is an exceedingly funny scene for anyone on the street.
::Who has the letter?"
Drovic looks around taking in the room.
I hope Fanz doesn't freak out because of the furniture
Then turns toward our contact
Our Queen did't send a messanger to tell you about this I wonder if she wanted us to deal with that as well.
"that would be me" Douglas pulls out the card and hands it to the diplomat "here you go"
"No, she usually doesn't... She just sends notes."
"Ah, thank you."
he takes the note, and reads it through.
"Oh, alright... Yeah. Alright, stay here."
the man leaves, and returns a while later with a few scrolls.
"Alright, here's a map to the location. There aren't any roads to the location, so you'll have to slog through the undergrowth."
::I like undergrowth. It's like a big hug.:: Fanz's head smiles and bobs back and forth happily.
after handing the map off to whoever takes it, he scrawls down a quick note.
"Here. You can use this for whatever gear you need. It's worth a thousand coins in supplies from hazelbone in the market. He sells most things you'll need on the way. He knows I'm good for any slip i write."
he gives the slip to the same person who takes the map. The slip is written in a slightly luminescent ink, in a language none (i think) of you know.
Douglas takes the offered items and puts them in his bag and says "thank you for your time," he turns to the others "come on then, let's go get ready to leave"
"Agreed."
Fanz tries to push his head out of the door. He strains and stops and starts again before stopping again.
::I think I'm stuck...::
the man sighs and takes some of his tools. He snaps some of the wall so you can get out the door.
"Now... Just go."
::Oh. I. Uh.::
He takes the chunk of wood from Serpi and uses his wood shaping to reattach it to the door frame, adding a swooping embellishment to the frame as he does so to hide the crack and make up for breaking it in the first place.
::Sorry....::
"No problem."
he goes back to working on his carpentry.
when everyone heads out to the town to get supplies, the see a busking marketplace full of various wares and foods. When you ask around, the man you're looking for is in a stall nearby, finishing dealings with another person.
Douglas waits patiently for the man to be done
the man who is dealing with hazelbone walks off.
"he gave us a letter to deliver and some money for funds, oh and Franz got stuck"
::Hey! Just because I get stuck in your door a couple times doesn't mean it always happens.:: Fanz huffs.

"Are you going to stand there all day, or are you here to buy something?"
the shopkeeper speaks up after his other customer leaves.
Pyro manages not to roll his eyes. "Onwards."
::Oh! Yes. Uh. Hello. Serpi sent us with a note for 1000 coin. He has it.::
He points to Douglas.
::He said you could equip us with supplies for a journey to the moonfey tribe.::
"Well then lad, may i see the slip?"
he extends an arm, and smiles wide. His teeth are sharp.
Helix, however, decides that he doesn't want to slog through this jungle mess, and decides the job isn't worth it. He heads back to the portal room, and gets taken back to a normal life.
Douglas hands it over "yes we'll need climbing gear, tents for everyone except me, just a hammock, rope, the highest quality you have, uh rations, for a couple weeks, a few snares, can anyone think of anything else"
"I also have some alchemical substances..."
the man takes the sheet, looks it over. He speaks softly in a tongue that sounds like hissing and crackling, then nods. He sets the paper on fire with a spark spell, and lets it quietly burn away. He takes the items you requested from his bag, and hands them to you, including a larger tent for fanz. His bag, rather expectedly, glows with magic.
Fanz backs up wide eyed when he lights the paper on fire.
