The manager is not impressed with you week's work this week, though he keeps you as a cook for now. However, he warns you, "I don't want too much more of this, or you'll be cleaning again!"
Bodolelo listens to your anecdote with seeming curiousity. He seems amused at it's conclusion, and says, "A most peculiar tale indeed. Where do they have such camps? I grew up here in Korvosa, and we haven't any camps as such nearby."
At your question concerning his homework, he gives that same morbid grin as before and says, "Well, animating an entire corpse via negative energy is much more difficult than animating a single foot, especially as I don't have to give the extremity any semblance of intelligence. I am simply learning he basics of setting up the body as a conduit for such animations. I haven't gotten very far into my studies here at the Academae."
Suleiyel
Suleiyel looks satisfied at Bodolelo's answer regarding his homework. "Huh! That makes total sense -- and you've certainly gotten farther than me." Suleiyel tugs at his gray robes with a self-deprecating grin, then pauses and looks up at the sky briefly -- brow creased in thought -- before looking back down at the small gnecromancer.
"You know, I'd be interested in the results of your experimentation, since I'm unlikely to ever do anything like it myself. I tend to focus on my work and studies, but even I've been to the Emergency Destination; would you like to meet there after the last class at the end of the week, and trade stories?"
Pakak
not sure if he was insulting me with that or not, but he's right. I'll see how it goes.
despite his interest in girls, his other aspect, that of an unwitting protector may slip through as well. If he sees someone in trouble or being picked on, he might find himself intruding to try to help.
........
Pakak apologizes to his manager, "Thank you for givin me another chance." Pakak could just kick himself. I can normally cook better than that in my sleep.
Vasile Liviu
This spell will conjure a creature to help you when you need it. She hands him the scroll of Summon Monster I.
Shane Gifford
Later on in the week, you meet with Bodolelo at the Emergency Destination. He tells you a couple funny anecdotes, mostly involving the antics of his little siblings as a young gnomish kid, and you guys generally shoot the breeze. Feel free to add anything specific here, such as questions for him.
Pakak
Something else occurs to him, maybe he can find a book that will help with cooking? Nah, that's silly. Then again, won't know until I check.
that's assuming there is an academy library, of course. Otherwise he'll find an unused class room to sit and study in.
Shane Gifford
Sorry Vasile, I read the spoilers but forgot to respond; you don't have to lose your money.
Suleiyel
Does Rogar Himstul wear the same grays as Suleiyel? I expect that they put newbies together, but not necessarily.
Shane Gifford
Rogar does indeed, which would mean he's new as well.
Suleiyel
Shane Gifford
Rogar answers you, "Ye don' say? I'm here ta study abjuration too. Torag teaches that we mus' learn to protect tha' which is ours, fer there're many in the world who would take it." Rogar looks stoic.
I suppose we can move on now. Week 9, please.

Week 9
Knowledge (Planes) to know things about imps: take 10 for a result of 17 ⇒ Success (presumably to know the same as Hathin)
Spellcraft vs. DC 15 to learn detect poison: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 ⇒ Success
Still disturbed by the number of imps in the area, and knowing that they have a poison sting, Suleiyel decides to learn how to detect poison in order to detect an invisible imp. Experimenting on various insects as he walks around campus -- bees, ants, spiders, millipedes, etc. -- Suleiyel is finally able to get it to work. Unfortunately, he gets no results from wandering around the neighborhood, casting his new cantrip on random places; either the spell doesn't work that way, or there just aren't enough hidden imps to make it useful.
Craft (Books) with Inner Beauty vs. DC 15: 1d20 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 4 = 18 ⇒ Success
...for 2d4 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5 x 4 gp = 20 gp
In the meantime, Suleiyel decides to buckle down and focus on earning some more money, since he's so close to having enough for at least one class next semester -- and then he can start spending money on other things without putting his future at risk. The motivation helps and he gets a great deal done; so much, in fact, that he starts going around to other libraries to market his book repair services, to make sure that he won't run out of work (while reassuring Gabi that he will put her first).
Do you just like your books, or do you love them? Have your document's damage repaired by a Shelynite!
Talented and experienced; references available. Leave a message for Suleiyel at the Academae today, because...

Putting the spoiler up again, as it seems to have been missed by it's intended recipient.
Thank you very much. If you don't mind, I'd like to come back to have you do any other tattoos I might get. I'll get the tab on those, though. She finishes with a smile.

Not missed - just been busy
He reaches for a small tub of salve, giving it to her "This will help with the pain. It was my honor, and if you see fit for more you now know where I work" smiling lightly at her praise.
Vasile Liviu
Gotcha, no problem.
Before she leaves, she gives Hathin a quick hug, and gets moving, back to the dormitories.
Silyph Verrani
I would very much like. :) I think both of us got a little distracted and side tracked on things at different times. I'm hoping to move it towards our character learning more about each other. I'll try to respond more promptly if you wish to draw it out some more.
Silyph wanders about with Suleiyel she looks at him for a moment with an expression that can only be described as So you are an idiot? before it's quickly wiped off her face and she explains "Yes, that is my familiar. He's proven useful on more than one occasion. His name is Vhiloe, I let him pick it out himself a charity I soon regretted as it was easily one of the most painfully irritating two weeks of my life." she jokes at Vhiloe's expense despite his presence in her robes.
As they walk she reminisces a little "I saved his life when he was still a chick. Since that day he's dedicated his life to me an exchange I've grown accustomed to and thus bonded with him over the years. To that end I take care of him and indulge his desire....he made life considerably easier at...." she cuts herself off abruptly spying a cat in a back alleyway she maneuvers to corner it and extends her hand to it trying to get the feline to smell her and allow her to pick it up before it hisses and scratches her and scampers off into the streets.
Rubbing her hand slightly annoyed she seethes "I fear I do agree with him, though cats are aloof creatures. I prefer canines loyal, protective, obedient, more easily trained, and often with enough bite to back up their bark. I suspect Vhiloe hates them more for their proclivity for snatching up small birds in their claws and tearing them to shreds, though. They might be common, but I fear snatching one from the streets might prove well at least somewhat challenging of a task."
Silyph sighs "Anyways enough about my stupid little birdie he certainly doesn't warrant the attention; I hear talk of those that form an arcane bond with objects. I suppose that ring is of such things? I hear such objects are important to those that form such relationships....would it be too weird if I asked what it means to you? she asks playing with her fingers uncomfortably and presumably counting the number of cobblestone along the street-way judging from the angle of her gaze.
Silyph smiles "I'm glad I came too, even though I'm not too fond of surprises this one was a pleasant one..." Throughout the revelry Silyph finds a seat and simply watches the boisterous activity every once in a while her left foot taps along with the beat of the music subtly ruining the air of cool-headed control she cultivates in wake of the chaotic festivities.
Later she taps Adelaida on the shoulder "I do not wish to be rude, but I fear I still had some studying to do so I'll take my leave of this place. Thank you for sharing it with me." and she gives one of her less impressive bows before cutting the night short.
Upon walking back to her dormitory she gazes up at the night sky and briefly searches for Shelyn before shaking her head in disgust 'That was less irritating than I would have thought, but why search for such a flippant shallow goddess who concerns herself aesthetics and offer her smile when I have yet to see her smile upon me. No, I unlike her or her followers I have less frivolous things that are more worthy of my concern. May her smile turn to frown for all I care.'
I've adjusted character sheet with accurate acedemic history, wealth count, relationship levels, and spell book. I'd be lagging behind keeping track of things and posting less often than I'd like sorry about that.
In class spell learning: (Ghost Sound)
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18 Vhiloe's aid [Success]

1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3 Vhiloe's aid [Failure]

Non-Dedicated Work Library:
1d8 ⇒ 7 = +7gp.
----
Silyph's routine is normal for her during class, but she seems a bit more wound up than normal. She manages to successfully throw her voice and make strange sounds at a distance learning a new spell. Upon careful observation bandages no longer grace her hands for the first time in weeks yet in their place are light pink healed over etchings carefully cut in what appears to be a star at a distance, but they're hard to accurately discern at a casual distance.
Between class she favors walking and idly chatting with gawky looking brown haired elf from class. She occasionally asks Vasile increasingly bothersome questions about evocation and force spells that are often revolve around the simple mistakes of confusing the arcane process with that of conjuration.
Outside of classes she stays cooped up in her room for most of the week studying only occasionally going out for food and briefly showing up at Gabi's library to help sort books and say hello to Suleiyel.
Suleiyel
As talk turns to his ring, Suleiyel looks at at and scowls. "It is part of me, and yet I resent it sometimes as a reminder of what I can't have." He is silent for a moment, and then continues. "I want to fight Treerazer and his minions. Demons can be cruel... As much as I wanted a familiar, I was afraid to get attached to something that could be tortured and killed. So I got a ring instead -- and now I'm looking for a pet."
Suleiyel sighs, shoulders slumped. "I wonder sometimes if I made the right decision." He straightens, face brightening, and turns his shoulders to face Silyph as they walk. "But enough about fears and regrets! You alluded earlier to Vhiloe making life easier somewhere; I'm curious, if it isn't too private."
Cezar Razvan
This week, Cezar decides to spend less time at work in favor of a relaxing study of Resistance. Hathin's run-in with the imps has taught him that it's not a bad choice when the danger of attack by flying sacks of poison is constant.
Resting from focused work this week, +1 to rolls, +2 to stress test next week
Reem's Assist Spellcraft DC10: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17 Success!
Cezar's Spellcraft DC15: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 Failure!
Unfortunately, Cezar does not quite get the hang of the spell. He decides to talk to Pakak sometime this week, remembering that he was in favor of protection spells.
Non-Dedicated work: 1d10 ⇒ 4x2 = 8gp
I'm sorry for being silent for so long, I've recently had a death in the family, and have been in a kind of RP-slump. Also, distracted by WoW...VERY distracted by WoW.
Cezar's attention span is fairly typical of a child his age, and he loses focus in his new work as his concern for Hathin's well being starts to grow: He doesn't want the rest of his friends to be attacked the same way.
He spends much of the time that he's not studying or working in the library, refreshing his knowledge of Imps and other beings from the other planes.
Not actually trying for a bonus, just for flavor
Cezar really opens up to you this week, staying with you as often as he can while you're still feeling weak from the Imp's poison. If you allow, he practices his Resistance on you, though it never actually helps and he cannot grasp a hold of what would be his first Abjuration spell.
"The ghost didn't follow you to your new room, did he? Have they investigated and tried to get rid of it?"
Sometime after classes one day, Cezar comes knocking at your door with a few papers covered in what's easily identified as papers regarding the A101 series of classes.
"Can I...Study with you sometime? I can't think straight with everything that's going on, and you know these things more than I do..." He's obviously embarrassed that he's asking for help with something that's NOT a spell intended to hurt people.
Hathin De'Lark
You also get a sense that he has shared something of himself with your sister... a secret from his past perhaps? - at any rate he is more at ease with her than he is with any other including yourself.
Silyph Verrani
Silyph hears treerazer mentioned and she eyes Suleiyel curiously "Treerazer....
Knowledge Planes: (Assuming that's enough to know of treerazer)
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
"....ah? So you're a native of Kyonin? I'm sorry I just presumed you where a forelorn as myself. I suppose living outside the forest must be a bit unsettling for one not so used to it; I hope you don't mind me offering you a late welcome to the real world where cats scratch before offering trust, the air smells of rot, and those around you wither and expire in a bat of an eye." she punctuates her words in less of a sad manner than their substance more so resembling lighthearted teasing.
She suckles on the scratched finger for a moment before digging into her robes and retrieving some white cloth to wrap the minor wound adding to the layer of bandages along her hands. Brushing back her hair the scratch tended to she asks causally "What brings one of your upbringing west of Lake Encarthan? Surely you could have learned of magic with lesser difficulty in Iadara?"
Silyph looks slightly wary for a moment upon Suleiyels prying "Ah well I spent the better part of these last few decades under the charge of Sir Alenxitor Wintrish of house Leroung his manor lying just south of the city of thorns. Vhiloe made the twice weekly task of gathering goods from market remarkably simpler given that he would fly by the morning and deliver word the particular intricacies of the orders to the correct merchants before the house servants would arrive."
Silyph will continue to walk while talking towards the market district her posture easing from it's usual rigidness warming to Suleiyel along the way.
I have no desire to effectively wrap this up quickly yet I do believe the weeks are outpacing his conversation. I've got not problems letting them do so.
Suleiyel
"Yes, I could have learned magic there. It would have been the same magic that succeeded in containing Treerazer -- a great accomplishment -- yet failed to banish him. I look forward to a future where he is simply gone, and I do not see that future happening if every Kyoni only learns the magic that hasn't made it happen yet. I think the Academae is perfect for my goal..." He pauses, gathering his thoughts, then ticks off reasons on his fingers.
"It specializes in conjuration, particularly from the Lower Planes, so I'll have plenty of opportunities to test myself; the abjurers are very practical, using the Breaching Festival to see what actually works in the real world; and there's no love lost between Hell and the Abyss, so my goal won't offend anyone, not even any Asmodeans or others who treat with devils." He does not give any kind of knowing look, apparently unaware that one might be next to him.
Suleiyel looks over at Silyph and grins ruefully. "I know it sounds a little grandiose, but it's one of those things that can't happen if everyone assumes it's impossible and doesn't try. Someone has to be willing to look foolish -- and for a future without Treerazer, I will be that fool."
I'm comfortable with carrying on conversations in different timeframes. There's even a term some on this board use for it: FlexTime. No need to wrap up a roleplaying conversation that won't have an effect on the later events that are happening in parallel; of course, since a couple of weeks have passed with no mention of a cat, it looks like our trip will have been fruitless in that respect. :( Ah well.
Pakak
Sometime after classes one day, Cezar comes knocking at your door with a few papers covered in what's easily identified as papers regarding the A101 series of classes.
"Can I...Study with you sometime? I can't think straight with everything that's going on, and you know these things more than I do..." He's obviously embarrassed that he's asking for help with something that's NOT a spell intended to hurt people.
Pakak opens the door "Whaddya wa... oh. Hey." Pakak is dressing nicer and has tried to be more social etc, but it still surprises him that anyone is coming to his room. After he listens, he feels a jab of sympathy, [B]"I know a bit what you mean... I'm not doing as well as my job as I had hoped. Yeah, sure. What's giving you the most trouble? "
